Nice to meet you! I am Japanese and my father drives the latest Delica D:5 with 2.2L diesel turbo engine. I appreciate that you drive the Delica D:5 despite the fact that it is a Japan-only vehicle. Mitsubishi New Zealand actually sold the D5 new but only for 2 years in 2008. It's a real shame they didn't keep it up but it was a bit ahead of it's time. The new model would simply be far too expensive to compete.

Very cool van. Similar to our Nissan NV200 that we beat the crap out of in the states off-road, but yours is 4wd. The only thing I'm pretty surprised about is that you didn't design the interior to be able to sleep inside of it.
We didn't fit out inside as a camper as this is removable option for us so we can carry stock in the car also. We transport our swag tents and other outdoor items.
Hi, neat video. What's meant by "correcting them up" when talking about the vans when first brought into the country with a 3inch lift? What's done and why does it need it? Thanks.

Hi Victor, We recommend contacting Delica Garage. There are two shops in Australia one being Brisbane and the other in Victoria. We imported our Delica with a JAOS 3inch lifted spring set up and we had to get some things fixed via Delica garage. There are other options here in I think Dobinson's is one. I hope this helps.
What are the measurements inside from the front seats to the back and than side to side and bottom to top, thinking about getting one and outfitting it, currently have an old toyota granvia import and the parts are to hard to get for it nowadays.

That exchanger has a small filter that should be changed at the same time as the trans service.
The CVT is actually excellent. Lots of people tow boats and small campers with them. I regularly tow 1ton with mine and sometimes a digger that weighs about 1.6ton with the trailer. The manufacturer spec towing max is 1.6ton.
@@raingersupplyco4922 it is good to have one, I got Apexi (Japan) on my Delica D5 and it is really helps at 4x4 driving, especially when you doing sand driving, sand hills climbing etc, as you could make it more agressive and throttle more sensitive and responsive.

Hi mate great video . I own a 2012 D5 , where did you get your under body bash plate done , also your roof racks and what hook do you use to recover off ?
Hi Antonio, the plate we got done at Custom Offroad Bashplates. They have all the measurements to do it properly now. Roof Rack bars are from Yakima (2) Then a rola roof tray rack We only recovered it the once. We used an equaliser strap on the 2 front tow hooks. But we also go careful on them

Delica D:5 an awesome van. One question - how can you fit so much on the roof with the Rola Titan? The max capacity I read is 50kg but you look to have way more than that those jerry cans. Thanks. Nice vlog!
Brilliant, I have wondered about the off road capability of this vehicle, so much cheaper than the 4x4 competition at the moment. Do you know anything about the towing capability as it is a FWD?

@Tony Brown During the uphill sections of the bigger sand dunes in the desert we used manual shift in sport mode, worked very well. most flat sandy areas was normal D autoshift. I'd take it on Fraser no issues at all, just be smart in the way you drive and if you have not much lift don't try and do anything to hard. They love the sand.
No, we didn't need to rebuild it, it was in very good condition we just chose to put new fluids in and a new filter, CVT is generally good as long as you maintain them. They can overheat but you have a warning light before they cook themselves. If you were to see the light come on for the CVT you just need to give the car a rest.

I’m after OEM or similar curtains for 2014 CV1W D:5, any help will be greatly appreciated.
Hi did be you install throttle control unit in your d5 enjoyed to your video 👍
No, we haven't done one yet have you? I'd be keen to check one out though.
@@raingersupplyco4922 it is good to have one, I got Apexi (Japan) on my Delica D5 and it is really helps at 4x4 driving, especially when you doing sand driving, sand hills climbing etc, as you could make it more agressive and throttle more sensitive and responsive.
good info what highway fuel economy
What brand are the steelies? I like it
Subbed 🤙
Thanks Mate. Go the PAJ!
What size is the platform? Also for the yakima roof rack is it just plug and play or you need to modify to fit?
Roof platform is a Rola Titan, bought from supercheap auto. SY9 (k332) Yakima 2 bars. was an easy install, just have to measure for both sides. No mods.
Hey mate, what's the dimensions of the Rola Titan ?.
Hi mate great video . I own a 2012 D5 , where did you get your under body bash plate done , also your roof racks and what hook do you use to recover off ?
Hi Antonio, the plate we got done at Custom Offroad Bashplates. They have all the measurements to do it properly now.
Roof Rack bars are from Yakima (2)
Then a rola roof tray rack
We only recovered it the once. We used an equaliser strap on the 2 front tow hooks. But we also go careful on them
Здравствуйте! Можно у вас спросить какие диски установлены на делика д5? Размер, марка, модель?)) спасибо)) очень интересно вас смотреть))
What about getting parts when it breaks in a remote area.?
Delica Garage Vic, Qld, Some parts are also similar or same as outlander. Can also get oils and filters from other major brands. Breakdown roadside and insurance club 4x4.
Dang this is nice and compact. Diff design from the usual style... is it 4wd or Awd?
4wd👍
hey bro, nice van !! cvt gear box still alive? and what is the tow capacity? thanks !
when this can be available in philippines
Great video. Who did you import the vehicle through? Thanks
Jdm HQ had it listed in Melbourne 👍🏽
Very good for world wide adventure travel because this mpv Mitsubishi delica have 4 WD diesel engine good heavy duty durability suitable for uphill mountain dessert water crossing off-road highway not like the petrol engine Toyota Alphard vellfire estima
Nice cool looking van bro! Just wanting to ask what mods you have done for the D5? Been looking at maybe considering getting this instead of the MuX or Pajero Sport. And is this the petrol or diesel model? More of your offroad travels please 😁 John from NZ
Any mods to suspension or engine ?
is the head unit any good?
Looks Great! Where did you get the shower jerry can?
Hi Bill, it's from a company called ONTAP PRODUCTS here in Australia. I hope this helps.
With this video, is the 3inch lift in use? Or you got this back to stock height. Curious if the 235/70 16 would fit without a lift. Cheers
3inch in it mate.
Delica D:5 an awesome van. One question - how can you fit so much on the roof with the Rola Titan? The max capacity I read is 50kg but you look to have way more than that those jerry cans. Thanks. Nice vlog!
We may have pushed the boundaries out of necessity on this one 🙃😂
Luckily it paid off.
Manufacturer spec is actually 40kg for standard dual bar racks. There are 3 sets of mounting points tho.
Are these IRS?
Brilliant, I have wondered about the off road capability of this vehicle, so much cheaper than the 4x4 competition at the moment. Do you know anything about the towing capability as it is a FWD?
I have heard of people towing with them but i can't remember the limits. I see it on the D5 owners Australia Facebook page, I think.
What offset are you running on them wheels? And did it come with the flares?
I think + 38 rings a bell but not 100%
The flares are an aftermarket thing i believe from Japan
Looks like JAOS over fenders. Two versions available, one with dummy rivets and other with smooth finish.
is that Delica really 1800mm wide??? or 1950mm wide please?
just under 1800mm wide
1795mm
@@raingersupplyco4922 Thanks it does look a bit chunky though, much wider than say a Tarago
@@chasx7062 The flairs widen it a bit too.
@@raingersupplyco4922 I think these are 1700mm Delicas, I still think you have the 1920-1950mm wide body delicas, even wider than the hyundai iload/iMax

Хороший автомобиль
Is the 2.4 petrol or the transmission shared with any other Mitsubishi cars in Australia? Cheers :)
Don't you guys have Outlander? This one has the same underpinnings.
The engine is used in a lot of Mitsi's and a couple of Peugeots and Citroens. The ZD model Lancer 2.4 also has a lot of shared running gear.
What kind of Roof Racks have you put on this and what weight are they rated too. I'm struggling to find anything that fits
Yakima 2 bar sy9 (k332)
Mitsi say the max is 40kg. Yakima say their racks and mounts are 75kg but then in brackets (refer to manufacturer spec).
Recommend you run three of the Yakima bars to spread the weight. I have a TentBox rooftop tent which is 50kg.
Can I ask where you bought it ?
Importer from Victoria, they import them from Japan. Can't remember the name now but it was on car sales.
@@raingersupplyco4922 Roger that cheers.
So did you still keep 3ich lift go back 2inch lift
Kept it at 3 but took abit of work :)
Off road were you using manual shift or ato diff lock .my orher questions would you take this on Fraser island think of buying one
They love the sand.
whats the "cvt service" you did on it? did you need to rebuild it before the trip?
No, we didn't need to rebuild it, it was in very good condition we just chose to put new fluids in and a new filter, CVT is generally good as long as you maintain them. They can overheat but you have a warning light before they cook themselves. If you were to see the light come on for the CVT you just need to give the car a rest.
@@raingersupplyco4922 The trans filter is designed to be washed.
Diet Much?
anything is good! but hate cvt!
just let her whine mate!
Japanese keep the good things for themself 😂
Too bad we can't get the D5 in the USA because of the stupid 25 year importation rules😡😡😡😡😡
Arhhhh that sucks! Hopefully one day, they make good adventure vehicles
@@raingersupplyco4922 of course it sucks!!!!! We can only get the 1997 models, except in Maine where their motor vehicle Bureau has banned the registration of ALL Mitsubishi Delicas in the state of Maine for spite😡😡😡😡😡
It's not a "Deleeca" FFS, It's a "Deli kah" !
As if anyone would want to go off-road with a CVT transmission too ! Jeez
4 Days crossing the soft Simpson Desert and no issue at all with the CVT. Transmission is perfectly fine it's all in how you maintain your vehicle.
@@raingersupplyco4922 How exactly can you "maintain" a sealed for life transmission ??
@@edwardfletcher7790 You buy a new filter, gasket, and new fluid for it?
haha You don't let a lack of any knowledge get in the way of having strong opinions on these do ya? The transmission isn't sealed ffs. It's hilarious how muppets without any experience of something are the experts.
Sorry brother but that's a death trap. You need a cargo barrier. If you stop in a hurry, you are dead.
Tbh, everything was fairly well packed in the van everyday while driving. The van is usually empty when not on a trip and used for both family, work, and play so need rear seats back in and barrier wouldn’t work.
that poor cvt...
she loves it!
CVT? No thanks
Still got the job done ✅
