I bought the 2023 nline premium in manual. If I want sport mode, I use my right foot and left hand differently. Also, it doesn't come with adaptive cruise control which is by far the most stupid thing ever in a car. Imagine being behind someone and you are always changing speed. A bloke I work with has this feature and because of this, he always drives in the right lane on the highway. Yes, he is an arse. As for the ride comfort, I thought it was fine, and even took it on a bumpy gravel road, no problem. One thing it doesn't have, is blind spot monitoring. That's ok, just search for wing mirror setup for blind spots. It changed my driving forever.
I was recently in the market for a new runabout and narrowed my selection to the Hyundai N-line, Cerato GT, and the Mazda 3 GT. Mazda and N-line as manuals, and Cerato GT as dct as no manual available. Test drove all cars...Mazda out first, has the best interior and drove well but lacked grunt. Auto in mazda was pretty good, however the manual imho is not as good as in the N-line. Cerato out next as in both the N-line and Cerato I found the dct wanting. If you do go dct then Cerato certainly better value at $32k d/a than N-line premium...and in sedan version looks pretty good too. However the N-line in manual as a driving and value proposition is just too good. I realise it misses out on some safety tech that I agree should be included, so agree with you gents on that. Otherwise it impressed me enough to order one. I am expecting delivery of a white (best colour imho) manual within 4 weeks, and look forward to driving some of the great twisty country roads near where I live.
Still happy with your choice? We have just bought exactly the same. For probably similar reasons... why people don’t buy manuals in “performance oriented” hatchbacks is beyond me.
hi guys, great video yet again. Just a request, can you guys do the review on the new kia cerato gt (hatch or sedan), i heard its got the same turbo engine as the i30 N Line, but i want to know the driving experience and the car performance review from you guys. Thansks
Anyone have any experience with the N Line first cold start of a morning sounding like the engine misfires and pops and carries on for about 45 seconds or so until it reaches idle, then sounds perfectly normal? I’ve never experienced a start like this with any other car. Have had it back to the dealership twice and they say everything is normal?? 🤔 Car is a 2021 Hyundai I30 N Line hatch auto…purchased as new..
Look forward to your review of the Kia Cerato GT which has the same drive train as the Hyundai i30 N Line although it unfortunately lacks a manual option. The Kia has a slightly longer wheelbase than the i30 and also has the safety features missing from the N Line. However the ride might be tuned even firmer?
Your review confirms my view that my wife's i30SRDCTPremium is ideal as a small well presented car with enough safety, 'tech' and 'go' for us as 'seniors'. We also retain our '03 Getz for shopping. ps. We're able to afford badge cars but assuage snobbery for Hyundai trouble free motoring and excellent dealer service (& one can't say that about some otherwise lauded brands.)
Guys great review. I also noticed the deletion of the Blind Spot Monitoring and the Rear Traffic Alert. I believe this is also missing from the i30N. Which leads me to think it has something to do with the rear bumper design?
I just got into the drivers seat of the canadian version of this i30 n-line. The Elantra GT N-line. Reluctantly accepting the reality of car payments, but it gives me more time now to put another engine in my 2002 wrx sti build.... how do you guys like the 7spd dct? Its refresing to see a review by dads, I got two kiddies myself..!
Needs the black sideskirts from the N. Looks weird how it has the front and read but not the sides. Just looks unfinished every time I see one. Once u notice this it’ll bother you too.
Have the american n-line hatch for a week and a half now. Not great in stop and go stoplight traffic and such, the transmision is a bit rough. I drove the low end version with the regular 6 speed automatic, and it was better in traffic. The car works better if you let it warm up a few minutes before driving. Its rad on the highway and the quick sharp angle on ramps that I have to drive daily, gotta fit in and merge at speed coming out of a sharp corner. Its a good car.
at 4.55 "it might be a bit better than the BMW we drove last time" then in response "woof". To which I say ValueFM equation is where it's at. But the previous SR Premium had all that safety gear and more, esp the a/c cooled seats which in Melb Summers in endless Freeway/Tollway crawls and slightly claustro tunnels combined with low humidity heat [up to 50c on the odd day] ARE TO DIE FOR! I'll leave it at that.
I own an i30 SR and I heard you mention the 7 speaker infinity sound system. Can I say of all the cars I've owned this is the worst sound system of all them. Even my i20 Premium was far superior. If you were selling cars based on sound systems alone this car would not sell.
Owning this car is sort of like owning a Golf GTI and passing Golf R owners, you have to pass N performance owners knowing you're not driving that instead.

Chrome Pack and Panoramic Sunroof are added packs on the Premium model

All that forward collision warning and lane assist aren't really safety features if you can actually drive.

letsseeif okay this comment is fine but what is a “badge car”. Every car including Hyundai has a badge.
?????????

Yep I believe the bumper design means they can't fit the sensors on for those features

Can't have it looking identical to the N
Look forward to your review of Cerato GT
great review
Are these including on road costs and not just the vehicle itself
What's the colour of the car you drove? Red or orange?
This compared to swift Sport slightly different class but which one do you like better ?
If u had to choose between this and a veloster turbo??
Like the car, deciding if the golf is better ride.
when is the kia cerato gt review coming
Good review (s) )

Kevin Ferguson really, that bad? At the moment I Jane am old mazda 3 with bose, does it sound better than that aleast?
It’s really that bad...? How does it compare to say, the Canton upgrade in the new Skodas, do you know?
