Outro rolls are about 17 nps. Which means you literally need Roland drum heads to even register that kind of speed. This song would be impossible on both a stock Rock Band drum set and even an ION drum set.
Look_Its_AIDAN That's insane. Best I could get on my ions back when I played was a -5. I can double stroke fine but my kit just couldn't register all of them.
obfuscation Try to use an Alesis trigger and Midi Pro Adapter to change your IONS to a real electronic drumkit. That way you can register all the notes. The IONS can register it. They just have roll limit on RB3. But not in practice mode btw.
I think you just won the game and the internet. And I think we can all say with confidence that you're the best RB drummer ever. This is why I am subbed to you for years. And there is seriously nothing that can top this video imo. Congratulations man. You really deserved it!
Just over a year ago, I was among the first to witness you prove to the world that this is possible. And now you've finally done it. Great effin' job, Carson! I can't say I'm surprised at all, but I'm glad you got this. Also, don't rule out 2112 as a possibility. You took out this beast already, if you just get consistent with the ending and do even just one run a week, you could get all Rush songs fc'd.
congrats man, im impressed. i played that roll thousands of times in practice tryin to secretly get good and shit but i never ever came close, at least not really close lol. so congratulations on an awesome fc!!!!
Being a RB drummer also, this is amazing. If you FC Arcaedion I will love you forever lol that's the only CoN song i can't even consistently get 5*. But so glad I got to work with you. keep up the awesome videos :)
i have now subscribed. any recommendations for more rock band drummers who post good videos regularly? i've played the drums every day since rock band one and i'm just now getting around to the youtube rock band scene. i'm glad you're still in it homer.
anyways for people asking me to burn my kits and telling me about this video, i saw it the day it was posted and left comments about it, linked it on facebook etc. however, i have no more usable kits, as in, they are not at my place as i've thrown them away or given them away long ago so, i'm going to do a video of breaking a keyboard in slow motion and linking this video to note, my videos are scheduled out, days in advance, so when the latest batch is all posted, then i'll do that video
They are different types of difficulty. First of all, this chart is an interpretation of the master recording of this song. Also, on Rock Band drums there is something called a timing window which is very strict in this game. Also, just look at the number of people who have tried to FC this song and failed versus the numbers that have done drum covers. Also, the rolls in Rock Band are MUCH more difficult than those in real life.
There's a buzz roll at the end of this song. Buzz roll on real drums with an experienced drummer: not too bad. FCing the buzz roll in the outro of TCE with absolute 100% precision: was actually thought to be impossible for a long period of time.
10:42 for the sickest double stroking ever seen by Rock Band (and the triple stroke at the end of the yellows is the harshest choke spot I've ever seen).
Good video and nice FC! I just want to say one thing that you should think about. It's amazing that you can do that while holding the stick completely wrong. Like, I literally cannot comprehend how you can have control of the stick. Let alone, play a song with such difficult timing, and rudiments going around the set. It must be the set you're playing on. If you get on a real set have fun playing basic patterns with that grip you got. I suggest doing everything you can to learn how to hold the stick. It may seem simple and trivial, but it's the most important thing in drumming. Those electric kits have such an unrealistic bounce that I can't blame you if that's what you're starting on. But if you just got the kit to play the game and not because you wanted to learn to play the kit, then nvm and good videos!
funny to go back to this video barely over a month later and see "its all downhill from here" knowing that youre ALREADY incredibly close to something way better than this
I do play the game, and at a high(ish) level. I haven't played much RB3, but I finished the endless setlist on RB2 and can probably GS 60% of the on-disc songs, so I know what goes into playing the game. So I can grasp how hard it is to FC this. But again, in real drumming you not only have to hit the notes you have to hit them with the right dynamics, across a greater surface area and you don't have the luxury of having the notes displayed for you. That means real drumming > RB.
It's because this song is so long and has a lot of little fills, after the odd snare rolls at the start, the rest of the song is a choke waiting to happen, and if by some miracle you make it to the end of the song without choking, there's the ridiculously fast roll at the end which I'm pretty sure took 3 years for someone to actually FC it in practice mode, let alone the entire song.
Oh and yes I've played plenty of RB drums, but not much of RB3. I can probably Gold Star more than half the songs from RB1 and 2. I'm more proud of my real life drumming though.
The song doesn't look to hard when you watch it, except for the end, but a viewers perspective always makes it seem easier. A lot of room for mistakes in a 10 minute song.
You have no idea what you're talking about Homer's skill is not in question, this isn't his first noteworthy FC...the video doesnt cut off, it shows the transition to the result screen and further he scrolls down to show % on each individual section. The only way what you're suggesting is even possible is maybe if there was an overhit in the roll which wouldnt affect percentage but practice mode or not you'd see the combo break...I've seen a lot of edits in my time too and I don't doubt this one
Outro rolls are about 17 nps. Which means you literally need Roland drum heads to even register that kind of speed. This song would be impossible on both a stock Rock Band drum set and even an ION drum set.
iBeScratcher nearly hit it with a rock band 1 stock kit. -2 tho.
My kit picks up 15nps at the max. That's some freaking speed on that outro.
All the patience you've dedicated trying to make this fc really worth it. This video is amazing and im glad you did it my friend. Keep going on
Not a problem man... Pretty freaking amazing - honestly. Well done!
Absolutely amazing man. Congrats! I bet it took a lot of work and dedication - Gonna link you on FB and twitter :)
Wow man, been subbed ages and this is why, amazing, lots of people thought this was impossible
Omg I've waited so long for this! Words can't begin to describe how amazing this is!
God damn man, nice job! Neil Peart is a god and its amazing you were able to do this in this game.
Nice. You just earned MY subscription, that was badass as all hell.
YES!!!! This is amazing Carson, unbelievable man. You are without a doubt in my mind the best rockband drummer EVER. Great job.
I think you just won the game and the internet. And I think we can all say with confidence that you're the best RB drummer ever. This is why I am subbed to you for years. And there is seriously nothing that can top this video imo. Congratulations man. You really deserved it!

A test of pure endurance- both physically and mentally. You pulled it off quite well.
It's been more than 3 1/2 years since this was released, and you've done the impossible once again. Hats off to you.
What a great way to start the morning. Thank you, sir.
Okay, thanks for your response man, it means a lot to me, and congratz again on this fucking amazing fc. =D
I haven't followed the rock band community for years, but this is incredible. Nice job Homer. I never thought this song would be FC'd :)
you can be applauded on just stamina alone, man. that song is ridiculously long. great job, man.
FCing this is much harder than covering this song in reality, I thought that was pretty obvious.
Finally you've got it, congratulation ! Amazeing fc
congrats man, im impressed. i played that roll thousands of times in practice tryin to secretly get good and shit but i never ever came close, at least not really close lol. so congratulations on an awesome fc!!!!
holy crap... almost 4 years. very good job.
I FEEL A SENSE OF POSSIBILITIES
I never thought it could be done. Amazing job.
O___o Absolutely amazing definetly the best FC of Rock Band yes this kills TiE and Alpha Strike great job!
You did it! Congratulations!!!!! You just may be the greatest RB player ever!!!! Azurite better be ready to trash his drumset! =D
Damn, sir. Just, damn. Never thought I'd see the day.
Being a RB drummer also, this is amazing. If you FC Arcaedion I will love you forever lol that's the only CoN song i can't even consistently get 5*. But so glad I got to work with you. keep up the awesome videos :)
This is one of the most underrated drumming songs ever.
This is just amazing, awesome job.
No way... I'm astounded. Well done.
That's number 30 on the BAND leaderboards. Note at 11:07 that the box slightly to the left of the centre states "Ranked #1 on the drum leaderboard!"
I knew you would get this eventually, it's seemed like ages since you first FC'ed the outro, glad to see it finally officially go though.
i have now subscribed.
any recommendations for more rock band drummers who post good videos regularly?

Damn, awesome job, amazing fc.
My God in heaven
Damn, very nice. How old are you? and How long you been playing the drums??? Lots of practice went into that....
Best GHRB accomplishment of all time.

This song was left open for how many YEARS? It has to be one of the oldest songs still un-FC'ed, and you did it. What a phenomenal job.
God dayum.
Congrats, man. :)
Dude, you are playing Rush, and you are playing Rush well. I can't tap a pencil on the desk without forgeting to breath.
'I kept this a secret so people would be surprised when they checked their sub box' surprised? my jaw hit the god damn floor
Congratz on the amazing fc, and sorry to talk about Young Man Blues, but do you think you or anyone will ever fc that song?
You definitely need more viewers .. best rockband drummer ..
I think it's a combination of duration, sporadic rolls, and interspersed bass drum. Raining Blood is insane, especially at the end, but it's regular.
There's a buzz roll at the end of this song.
Buzz roll on real drums with an experienced drummer: not too bad.
FCing the buzz roll in the outro of TCE with absolute 100% precision: was actually thought to be impossible for a long period of time.
DUDE>>>>>> well done
This is hands down my favorite song to play on RB2 drums.
Amazing job.
I knew you would get this FC sometime! =)
honestly never thought I would see this happen. you are inhuman
Congratulations and well done.
10:42 for the sickest double stroking ever seen by Rock Band (and the triple stroke at the end of the yellows is the harshest choke spot I've ever seen).
CARSON.
DUDE.
WHAT.
YOU.
JUST.
YES.
It's all down from here, he said. Nothing I can do on this game will ever top this video, he said.
Carson:It's all downhill from here.
*FC's YMB, 2112, Obfuscation, Rebirth, WATN)
Carson: Well shit :/
Reaction is like "Welp, fuck it. That's Rock Band."
Lol I love your old descriptions.
This has been a true exercise in futility then.
this is what makes me want to play rb again but im so bad now, lol. sick fc.
God tier.
Best reaction ever; "oh my god..." *walks away*
Really curious to see a Diamond Eyes FC. I want to see u FC those rolls!!!!!!
Good video and nice FC! I just want to say one thing that you should think about. It's amazing that you can do that while holding the stick completely wrong. I was thinking the same thing haha. he would be able to infinitely better on top of how good he already is
How do you practice if you can pretty much all of RB's songs?
God damn Carson. I'm lost for words.
yeeeeeeeeeeeeees man now this is a fucking great achievement dude!
This and TiE are what I consider your best achievements.
What about Curse you all men (live) FC? Has that been Fc'd?
10:42 for the rolls
funny to go back to this video barely over a month later and see "its all downhill from here" knowing that youre ALREADY incredibly close to something way better than this
do you have a better suggestion?
Where do you find RB3 drum paths for non-on disc songs??
He just did it!
Wow. Congratulations. :D
interesting grip u used to hit the killer rolls at the outro
I do play the game, and at a high(ish) level. I haven't played much RB3, but I finished the endless setlist on RB2 and can probably GS 60% of the on-disc songs, so I know what goes into playing the game. So I can grasp how hard it is to FC this. Have you done YYZ? or will you if you havent?
Rush is so cool!
What's the intro I don't remember?
Congratulations
Gabivador freewill vault edition
good wood mods? and my left pad is bubbles and I'm too lazy to fix it
What is the song in the intro (can't find which album it's on)?
It's because this song is so long and has a lot of little fills, after the odd snare rolls at the start, the rest of the song is a choke waiting to happen, and if by some miracle you make it to the end of the song without choking, there's the ridiculously fast roll at the end which I'm pretty sure took 3 years for someone to actually FC it in practice mode, let alone the entire song.
I can't actually watch this video, it's glitched for me. Anyone else having this problem?
Oh and yes I've played plenty of RB drums, but not much of RB3. I can probably Gold Star more than half the songs from RB1 and 2. I'm more proud of my real life drumming though.
I smell ERG's #2000 in the force.
The song doesn't look to hard when you watch it, except for the end, but a viewers perspective always makes it seem easier. A lot of room for mistakes in a 10 minute song.
He did say it on a vid a within the past month.
How do you practice if you fc almost every rockband song?
You just went against your own word (Young Man Blues!)
You have no idea what you're talking about Homer's skill is not in question, this isn't his first noteworthy FC...the video doesnt cut off, it shows the transition to the result screen and further he scrolls down to show % on each individual section. The only way what you're suggesting is even possible is maybe if there was an overhit in the roll which wouldnt affect percentage but practice mode or not you'd see the combo break...I've seen a lot of edits in my time too and I don't doubt this one
i think he meant how do you practice when you can do all of the RB's songs
Impressive! That part at the end looks really annoying. I had a similar experience with One on GH3 -- took me a good 3 years without grinding.
About fucking time.
You going to stream still even though halo 4 came out? :(
Freewill, also by Rush :p A song that really needs to be on Rock Band
This is the most delicious awesomesauce i have ever tasted
would this song be possible to fc on stock RB drums?
BEST REACTION EVER!!!
Unbelievable man. :)
??? I meant that Azurite promised a couple years ago or something that he would destroy his drumset if someone fc'ed camera eye.
