Oh! This piercing brilliant interview. I was catapulted into possibility and hope, and the two of you together was exquisite serenity for me. I love this woman I have never encountered. I want to spend hours at her feet. Everything about her felt like home. And You, Nicholas. You just bring the purity of joy into every interview and video. Truly. It thrills me to watch your gifts reach so many and to see how you are changing lives through art. I want to join you in that. I struggle in exploration to find “my” art that lies hidden and wants to emerge, but I know it will come. You have told me it will, and I believe you, This Judy comes from a place I want to come from, and I was moved to tears. Thank you for finding her and sharing her. Thank you for being dazzling you. LOVE! ❤
thank you so much, this may be the best episode, because you talk to each other, looking at each other, rather than making art and talking at the same time. Judy is an inspiring mentor and artist. thank you.
As a Jew and artist who has been exploring the intersection of those core identities since October 7, 2023, I cannot overstate the significance of listening to Judy speak about her Jewish identity and its impact on her art so seamlessly and matter-of-factly at this terrifying (for many Jews) point in time. Grateful to hear her speak so frankly about the challenges she has faced and how she works through them.
I love when to hear such lovely clear literary expressions of complex emotion, thought and ideas I have no words for. I’ve tried to find words in exploration of what paper having been remade to a blank sheet says about its history and memory. The people that held it before. The unseen and intangible. I’m bursting in wonder and seeing. Thanks for posting.
So so resonant and reflective- I love that Judy took such a break from showing- at 71 this inspired me a lot. Grateful to you both for such a conversation!
Oh my goshhhhhhhhh - did this just ever water my soul!!! Thank you both for sharing this and I can tell you it will forever stay with me ❤❤❤ THANK YOU !!!
OMG 😳 Judy is amazing 🤩…. I came here because I love art and learning and I got so much inspiration form Judy not only for persisting with my art but persisting with life itself. I am a true believer that art heals & this story is proof of that. I love this lady. You go girl 😘💞
"Art has taught me that walls and doorways are the same thing. It's about letting go and letting it inform you. They are no mistakes in art. The mistake is actually a doorway that can lead you in some place" Thank you Judy and Nicholas
Wow. Wow. Wow. What an amazing human being Judy is. I loved every word spoken. Her wisdom has touched me deeply. Thank you so much for this engaging conversation Nicholas. It will remain with me a long time!
This was a most beautiful episode, Nicholas. I feel like we were all taken by Judy's serenity and humility. Found myself rewinding some bits in case I missed something... Thank you. And it's great to see a woman artist at that age. In 7 years I'll be 80 and who knows, I might be wise, humble and peaceful like that... And I might even be on your podcast! 😊
I could listen to her stories all day. She has achieved so much in life. Congratulations I have so much respect for her. I’ll look to see if theirs a book of hers. Fantastic !
I could listen to Judy for days. What an incredible interview and she is just so fabulous! Her reflections are so personal and yet relate to all. Well done Nicholas!
I’m speechless! What a RICH conversation, one brilliant story 🌿after another. What an extraordinary life Judy has lived, turning every twist and turn into something bigger and brighter and more beautiful than one might have imagined possible. I’m struck by her grace and humility throughout. Her students were so fortunate. I look forward to listening to this interview again…and again…to pick up more of her wisdom than I could absorb in the first listening. I am a year older than Judy and have felt no inclination for TicTok, but now I’m going to ask my grandson to help me access Judy’s account so I can see that 10yo girl’s sculpture! THANK YOU both for this wonderful hour! 🙏🫶🌿
Thanks! So many notes to take here: The longer you make art so greater the mystery. Walls and doors are the same. Wie need Wonder instead of uncertainty. 🤗🎨
The way she speaks is captivating and mesmerising. I really enjoyed this podcast. Would you provide direct link to the mother giving birth sculpture that she mentions in the podcast, please? I checked her tiktok but I couldnt find it. Thanks.
