I got lucky and bought the same Gerber scissors when I first started bass fishing. I’ve been using it even since. The thing just cuts. Plain and simple.

The Gerber's are great! I own two pair cuz it looked like the original fresh water model I purchased were used (to cut wire) and then sent back, which they then sold to me. Unfortunately I threw packaging away before I noticed. Oh well, live and learn. Anyway, I broke down and bought the salt water model a couple months later and have not looked back. They work great (best I have ever used), they don't rust and the blue handle is easier to find than the green handle on the fresh water version.

The Gerber scissor is great. I also have two different pair of scissors by Cuda, which are equally good.

2:20 To cut to the chase.
Key take away from this is they're brand new, so the side-by-side comparison is worthless. (Also, the indentations on the blades of the Pitbulls look like the Pitbulls have been used to cut more than just braided line.)

I bought the Gerbers two years ago and the Pitbulls a year ago. The Gerbers are a FAIL, but the Pitbulls -- when used to cut braid exclusively -- are still cutting braid like butter.

I’ll have to try the Gerber brand scissors. The ones I have are Berkley and Rapala but look identical. They were ok for about a summer..... I have some Gerber hunting/ skinning knives that have help up great, so I am hopeful the Gerber scissors hold is well.

I use the Shimano braids scissors /cutters and they've been probably the best pair of scissors I've used for cutting braid. I may not have bought a purchased as many prayers as you, but I bought my fair share of braids cutters and the Shimano ones are the best I've used to date. let us know how the Gerber ones go and maybe that'll be my next purchase too.

I use the BUCK Splissors. They are amazing at cutting braid. But a little pricey. Last year we got lucky and bought them from Amazon on a deal of the day.

I’m always looking for a good pair of braid snips. I’m willing to try anything. Been using a pair that came with a spool of Sufix lately. They are the best of the worst. Like these kind of videos as well.

Was the small Cuda...but... i may now venture out. I like the small Cuda for cutting the connection knots because it is so small it is easier to get close to the knot itself without cutting anything or rubbing against any other lines. Bigger the actual scissor length is... higher chance of error... just my .02

You are not using the pitbulls correctly. For regular mono or flouro cut like you were with any where on the cutters. For braid, use the part closest to the pivot. It's cuts clean and true every time there for me. Big difference in that part of the cutters and the rest of the blades.

so. its 2021 now. did the GERBER scissors stand the test of time? i don't know the cost but i think $10 a year for a pair of scissors isn't bad.
