I am very impressed with your efforts, well done you two, I was thinking you needed a few more hands, but you have to work with what you have. Love the fact that you are not letting anything go to waste. Thank you for sharing.
I’m glad you’ve finally gotten a freeze dryer. I freeze dry my tomatoes and powder them. I’ve got everything from paste to juice. I still can my pasta sauce but having the freeze dried powder is so convenient 🍅
That is fantastic that you are canning. My mother used to attempt canning when we were all little. I remember snapping greens beans for days. Love your show...
I love all of your videos espwcially with the family! Watching this and other youtubers on homestead, permaculture, off grids etc made me wonder on how much food and cannings were made but none ever said about donating them. I hope you can start a group of people who has extras and able to donate to those who need the love like the single mums who goes hungry to feed their kids or elderly who can't go out to get groceries etc. especially during this trial time and winter ahead. ❤❤❤
💞 I just love watching you and your Mom together, ya'll crack me up and remind me of Me and my Mom. My only tip would be using a 4 cup measurer with a handle to ladle the food into your jars, you will save your arm from a tiring work out! 💖
Me and my mom used to do this . We basically halved the tomatoes to can . Less work ! Especially when we did 178 quarts . Tomatoes and blue lake string snap beans were our main things . Y’all are some hard working ladies . Bee safe !
I think its important for all the loyal fans of The Honeystead to remember that even if you don’t have a large Homestead, you can still do things like they do. Even those in apartments, and homes with smaller or bigger backyards, you can grow and preserve your harvests, just on a smaller scale. This family is humble and giving everyone wonderful ideas as we watch them. My sisters husband is allergic to bees, so she can have hives at a nearby property for a small fee. Same with growing.. I personally have a decent yard for Southern California there is always room for growing on a scale that fits us. Let’s not depend on grocery stores for things we can grow. Thank you so much for showing the good and challenging of your Honeystead.
I'm like your mom. I canned with my mom when I was younger. I was in 4-H for nine years and entered many canned foods into the county and state fairs. But was done seeing it after 18 years of my mother doing it and me helping. Dabbled her and there over the years but no full on big projects. I think it's most awesome that you are keeping alive old traditions. Enjoyed the video.made me hungry. Your mom is great
My dad and I love to grow tomatoes and make spaghetti sauce and can them. We also love to go strawberry picking and then making strawberry jam. So much fun! 😄
Your sauce looked delicious. How wonderful to have your mom there to help you. It always makes it more fun to have someone helping. I always look forward to your videos. Keep those videos coming! 🙏Philippians 1:3🙏 Blessings, Love & Hugs from Vicki in Ft. Worth, Texas 🇨🇱🇺🇸👍❤️🍅🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏
Everything handmade, thats an ingredient you can never ever get from any factory, the only sectet most people don't have is the love you give making any recipe.
Your first shout out on IG about Ann's book, I purchased it. I've been reading it here and there and love everything that's written in there! Cannot wait until I can do this all for my family and myself.
I love my sauce chunky!!! I was hoping to have tomatoes this year but my soil was really bad ☹️. It's ok I will put compost and rabbit poo in it and regrow next year
So fun, I actually am canning plum jam and as you were peeling your tomatoes, I realized, I was doing the same with plum skins/peels. I felt like I was in good company. Wonderful video Kaylee! It looks amazing! I bet the smell was even better!
Looks delicious. A large varieties of sauces and cook can be done by tomatoes. I remember storing of partially cooked minced tomatoes in bottles for later use
Hello , will you please observe your bee's during the oncoming solar flare .Note behaviour health flight smithing unusual .Let us know if u will please .
I grew up helping my mom can and we blanched the tomato’s just like you did to remove the skin. I hope you enjoy your spaghetti sauce but I can’t handle that many tomato seeds. My wife and I wash, quarter them then run them through a Squeezo juicer and you get clean pure tomato juice. You can bring that to a boil and the water will separate from the tomato pulp which comes to the top. We scoop that off for making spaghetti sauce, tomato sauce, or seedless salsa. Just another way of preparing the tomato harvest because I have Diverticulitis.
@Basil Fabels, I hope you enjoy your squeezo! They will last a long time if you take care of them. My wife’s parents had the first one that I ever saw. We’ve been married 35 years and my in laws are still using theirs and bought it when my wife was a child so theirs is at least 50 years old. Good luck!
Im not sure what im watching? Im very new to gardening and want to learn how to can, and i didn't understand anything you were doing because, I never did this stuff before. I clicked on your video think you were going to show us what to do as you were doing it? But I guess this video was not for newcomers, just for those who already know what to, and are just here to talk ? 🤔🤷♀️
I love videos when you and your Mom are working together and chatting. So many happy memories brought back.

I like to watch more recipe videos
Enjoy your tomato’s
You’re such an amazing person stay strong and we will always support you!!
My goal is to grow enough tomatoes to make my own sauce, thanks for the video 👍
It looks great ,might do some canning myself.
The filling might go faster if you use a 1 qt or 1.5 qt sauce pan instead of a ladle. One scoop and pour.
i was thinking the same thing. I usually use a 2 cup glass measuring cup. Goes nice and fast
Thank you for sharing, inspiring things to do with tomatoes going to try this also.
Sweet
