Sounds good, I have the 2.2 LS removed the resonator replaced with a single chamber cherry bomb, and removed both cats for 1 high-flow cat, it sounds similar.
Hay bud how you been ? Hope all is great!! Just wondering if you gonna postanother vid on your boost issue as far as getting the #'s higher......also I might start on my charging soon... what vin # letter designates the charged engine ....can't freakn come up with that & can I use a 05-07 cobalt or strictly gotta be the o7?? Thx bud 👍
Putting cutout won't set a check engine light. If you're referring to no cat, the headers have an extension pipe on the rear O2 sensor that keeps it from setting a light.
If you have the factory catalytic converter, I would run a large resonator and a dynomax turbo muffler. These engines are naturally really raspy and unless you want to sound like a pissed off Honda you need the quieter but good flowing exhaust.
@@jj0236 if you want loud and want to save yourself some money, have your local exhaust shop do a muffler delete. There's plenty of examples of the 2.2 with the muffler delete here on youtube to give you an idea of what it would sound like
It's an eBay long tube and catless downpipe for the LSJ supercharged Cobalt. It's basically a copy of the ZZP long tube header, but less than half the price.
Yeah, non-turbo Ecotec's sound terrible with an free flowing exhaust. I tried three different exhaust setups after this one and ended up with just a valved muffler and massive resonator so it was quite nornally and only opened it for the drag strip or the dyno.

Great idea of tossing the rear drum brakes for a SS rear disc brakes.
sounds great!!
That sounds a lot better.
I wish I could of gotten rid of just a little more rasp but I do like the deeper tone it gave it.
Yeah that 2.4 sounds good nice rumble too it!
WHOA...that's HEALTHY!

I believe its the letter B = supercharged ??
Alright what tools do I need for this
A welder, a chop saw and some exhaust pipe.
did u lose any power with the it opened up fully
No, it actually gained almost 7hp to the wheels. I have another video where I took the car to the dyno and tested it open and closed.
Please tell us how you keep your Check Engine Lights from coming on .

by checking your engine and actually maintaining it lol

@@OGSHAKER2020 I'm just running the cheap ebay header for the Chevy Cobalt. Been running it for 5 years without any issues.

@@jj0236 factory size exhaust for the 2.2l Malibu is 2", so I would go with the 2" inlet one.
@@josephcarlson1774 ok sounds good I found one on Amazon that’s a evil engery 2 inlet @ 3 outlet or PTNHZ stainless steel 2 inlet @ 3.5 outlet!?

Did you plasti dip the rims if didn’t what you use
I used a really cheap flat black spray paint, then several coats of a good quality semi-gloss clear coat.
Joseph Carlson can you send me a pic of both of them on Instagram
I think there ss cobalt rims my pops had a cobalt

The ss wasnt released until 08
The HHR SS wasn't until 08, yes. But the 05+ cobalt SS parts all interchange with the HHR
