Thanks so much for having me Charles, you rule 🖤🤘
moar
So you guys forming a band soon or what?
Good stuff, guys.
Wish you guys would find a drummer and singer and focus on writing your own music and maybe create a new genre.
Charles replies, "Thank you for sharing in this wonderful moment Bernth, you rock."
Can't admit how long it took me to realise that a a short scale piccolo bass is a guitar.
Same here.
I never would have realized if it wasn't for you. Thanks for saving me a lot of embarrassment
you need davie504 in your lives
@@timwrigley54 Checkmate! El Em Ay Oh! Stay funky, bro.
I came here to confirm this information kkkkkkk
Tearing up a bit here, it's an absolutely fantastic rendition of what is the first song that exposed me to "metal" music in general. It really changed my life...
i felt the same way
Me too!
Nu Metal I guess. What got me into Metal was the first Black Sabbath album back in 1970. (yes, I'm that old) Before that I was into all the proto metal and hard Rock groups. Before that Link Wray's song Rumble" when I was in Junior high school in 1958. ua-cam.com/video/ucTg6rZJCu4/v-deo.html I always liked the loudest, raunchiest, and heaviest music and still do at 78 years old.
@@nyobunknown6983 I actually had no idea metal actually existed until I stumbled randomly on "In The End". Then I quickly discovered Limp Bizkit (and have since discarded it haha), then Iron Maiden and then Cradle of Filth (huge leap in intensity here). And here I was on the road to a neverending musical journey.
@@nyobunknown6983 The specific song not really metal at all imho, the band maybe has some nu metal things going on, but this was just imho more in the rock or alternative genre.
Doesn't matter anyway. It has some a good riff going in the chorus and I am sure you could make it more heavy easily and add some more distortion to make it more metal. I totally get how it can be the entry into metal for someone.
Ah, Earth explained his metal journey below already anyway. Just as I thought. Good Stuff. Leaves just one question open? When will or did he start to play bass? No matter if 6 string short-scale piccolo or 5-string long scale. The musical journey always continues …
The short scale piccolo bass at 1:00 has 7 strings?! OMG! HACKS! Just to get a sound closer to the mighty bass?
The 6-string has 7 strings?! 😲 My God!!!😱
Bout to say that…
I thought I was losing it for a minute, NGL.
Thanks for confirming, phew...not today, satan!
One of my all time favourite songs gets the Charles Effect. Stellar work, sir.
Thank you!
Where do we buy the pedal for the Charles effect? 😮😅
i am loving these charles and bernth colaborations
Me too
seriously...I hope they collab on an album too!
That "RIP Chester" towards the end hit me like a bag of bricks. Beautiful rendition, Charles. I'd like to think he would love it.
BERNTHOUD! Man.. you guys really are a killer duo
The harmony tapping -- your and Bernth's precision is off the charts! 🤯
That collab was an unexpected surprise! You sound so good together
Man this sounds absolutely incredible
MY DUDE! You and Bernth should release 2 albums: 1 with covers like this and 1 with original music that y'all made together. I'd buy them in a heartbeat!
The Bernth reveal was way too badass
Holy crap, that was amazing. Bernth hit me out of nowhere, and I loved every second of that. Stay amazing, Charles!
An amazing song indeed! The bass slapping really adds to the rhythmic and percussive arrangements LP was always known for!
Thanks! Yeah rap often translates surprisingly well to slap bass 😳
@@CharlesBerthoud For sure! They were certainly pioneers of this sound!
Wow, was not expecting Benny as a guest bassist ❤
Benny 💀

In the End....there was only bass. Incredible performance Charles!
Thank you!
Gooooosebumps! I love this song and this version was fantastic! Especially when Bernth came in and it all just came together, sooo good!
I thought this title meant, “The End” by the Doors - which could also use some awesome bass-ing up…
I can’t stop listening. This song is so nostalgic for all the right reasons. That plus the Charles treatment! I’m here for it. Every time.
The rip Chester hit hard.
Nice! Love the variations. The nod to Chester was a nice touch, too.
So amazing playing guys! I have been following you two for many years and you haven't failed to deliver!
I’m so pleased for you, Charles, that your channel is working out so well. You’ve put in a great deal of hard work, and it shows. As a fellow musician of 71 years, I truly appreciate everything that you do.
One of those 6-string piccolo basses even had an extra secret string on there too!
This is.... unbelievable, the songwriting, structure and performances are so great. Thank you so much for this one guys.
Genuinely gave me goosebumps with this cover. Stellar work as always!
Excellent video! Great song! Great collab! You are the best!
Love your work, and you and Bernth together are inexpressibly amazing! When you find a drummer of your caliber, you'll be this generation's answer to Rush. Keep up the great work and thanks for keeping it real!
Thank you, I really appreciate it! 🔥
That was awesome guys! Love how you worked the solos together.
That takes both confidence and humbleness to pull off so well.
This is amazing, as your videos always are. Love you Charles, keep up the amazing work
Wow!!! Two of the best musicians in the world!!!! That was incredible!
I am super excited about these hardest songs. Idk, I didn't think there were any hard songs for you having Bernth as a guest was a great idea. I love getting your notifications cause I know there'll be something awesome to my ears!!!!!!❤ 👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏
Absolutely amazing...one of my favorite of your collaborations!
Awesome video and great collab!
amazing 😮😮 the best bassist ever
Amazing work, as always, and the duo was especially cool; rock on!
So glad that I’ve been here since the start of your channel love watching you grow on here and continue to grow each month brother 🙏🏻keep on rocking it
In the end.. The hours of Charles learning the bass mattered
Any chance this will be on spotify? I could keep this on repeat all day!
I have been watching your videos for quite a while now, I have to say this is the best one I’ve seen yet. It kept me totally enthralled, and the playing was over the top for both artists.
So much talent in one video. Thanks for another amazing rendition Charles!
One of my favourite Linkin Park songs covered in bass sounds so beautiful, love it.
It’s literally a guitar cover.
I just played in the end on my keyboard few mins ago 😃
Stunning arrangement and playing!
Supremely meaningful man, and you guys just smashed it! Can't wait for more
Love that bass tho, as someone with a 5 string
Thanks I love it too! 🔥
@@CharlesBerthoudand you got the mini bass vs guitar battle in there too 😂
"6 strings short scale piccolo bass" I think that's called a guitar 😂
The "Remembering to play the song" section made me laugh out loud. That really is the hardest part for people playing solos and getting carried away.
Amazing! My gratitude for your job. Wish you success in your way.
What about Nobody from Avenged Sevenfold on fretless bass? 👀
Also this is amazingly beautiful, and awesome job!! :D
Absolutely amazing! Hats off to you guys.
Love it! Sounds so good!
I love that there's a sitar just sitting casually behind Bernth, like no big deal
Awesome. I am so happy to see this one completed. Great work as always. This was a fun version to listen to. RIP Chester.
This tap up right when I need it. Great sound both of you!
Incredible, thank you so much for being so inspiring!
This is my favorite collaboration you’ve done so far, amazing musicianship
Beautiful. Need to see more of this. Cheers 🍻
This was my favorite yet, LP + bass + Bernth, what a great vid!
Fantastic collab. Time to listen a few more times.
I loved the collab!!! That was absolutely beautiful, and a wonderful tribute to Chester.
Dayum!
Goosebumps! Flippin brilliant as always!😄👍
It's so nice and soft! Thanks for letting me hear this!
Nice! Great collab, too. I love this series.
outstanding as always! and a nice Suprise appearance!
These collaborations are fantastic! Please, keep them coming.
That was fantastic! Thank you!
Absolutely phenomenal. Loved it.
Staggering and stunning arrangement! 😍
That was so cool! More! More!!
Epic collab for an epic song! Thanks a lot for this one
Bro this is literally the first rock song I listened to and fell in love with. Thank you very much for the content
Most amazing piece ever!!! You're amazingly talented!!!
So awesome as always
Loved the collab! You two fit so well musically.
I do love it when two channels I follow do collabs out the blue, I'm guessing that talent finds talent! Cool when it happens!
Amazing playing you guys !
just discovering your channel, and a real blow i got with this song ... Thanks for the experiment
I love this series of videos. I have been thinking about learning a stringed instrument and you really make the bass sound good. It's had to find interesting bass music.
Just, unreal dude.... Good shit!
Really cool to see some variety in your latest video. Mixing it up and combining with another player! also epic song choice!
That was spectacular and awesome. You both made the song ten times better than it was to begin with. Thank you so much!
Hey Charles, just want to say how much I love watching your videos, you inspire so much in my own playing, (even though I don’t actually play bass) I love the amount of heart and soul you put into your playing and your skills are simply off the scale. Absolutely incredible. I’ve never come across a bass player before that’s actually made me wish that I took up the bass instead of the guitar but here you are doing just that! Thank you so much for all of the music, you are a huge inspiration to me.
So much about Bernth's tour, but when could we see Charles live?
I love this song so much and you've done it so beautifully!
This is by far and away the best video I’ve seen on UA-cam. I knew it would be good, but holy F’n hell that was beyond amazing.
You have done it again and even in a greater way! Such an honor and brings a tear to my eye. Fantastic and thank you.
What an exquisite collab!!! That´s the best in life!
Awesome work Charles
Great job guys. Phenomenal talent.
It was an amazing rendition and it is simply fantastic! Thank you!
Never expected that amazing collab!!! ❤❤❤❤
brilliant as always!
That was amazing and the collaboration was sooooooo perfect
That was so good guys! Wow! You blew my mind!
Dope !!! Incredible arrangement. Could listen to this all day.
Wow...... Great work Charles👍👍
Superb mate!
