Mr. Stovepipe is a true musician and teacher. He actually cares about people. He gets it. Rock stars are only about themselves and self glorification. Thank you sir for the excellent and compassionate presentation.
I didn't make it to the lesson. After watching that amazing opening I had to go play. Very inspiring playing. All around great performance. Looking forward to the lesson. Thanks.
That has to be the slowest most soulful version of this song I’ve ever heard . It has inspired me to take another look at my guitar playing- stop trying to be fast and clever - try a less is more soulful approach. But I could do with a voice like this to go with it and that ain’t never going to happen. But many thanks for this masterclass in real playing from the heart

Very nice! So smooth & crisp. Great Rhythm &:finger work. Love the vibrato in your voice. I like this new version. I had a knee replacement in Dec. 2024. Spent alot of the time afterwards writing & completing songs that I had hit dead ends on. It must have been the anesthesia they gave me ! Thank you for sharing this great version of Key to the Highway. Vince James (Ajello)
Most excellent Carl. You're "doing it" to us again you rascal ....I hope you know you and these fingerstyle blues are THE reason for me getting back to this instrument, so "thank you" much!!!
What do you think of Eric Clapton unplugged? It was my first introduction to many of the player's I love now including this tune.i think I was 9 years old when it came out.
His unplugged work did a lot of good for acoustic blues in general, I acknowledge that, but it's mainly because his name is "Clapton" (they wouldn't give "Eric Jones" any attention). He's not a really good acoustic solo player, he needs backup to pull it off and it's annoying that people think his acoustic work is original while "it's all been done before", and better.
@@daddystovepipe I agree to a certain extent.as a young fellow with not a lot of prospects in what seemed like a perpetual grey England that album was my first introduction to what has become my life long love guitar/blues' and for that I'm eternally greatfull

I listen, I learn, I love. You rock daddy!

Great, great rendition - playing and vocals are both fantastic!

The perfect cover of a classic!
My Martín looks like yours, but is an all mahogany model. These 12 fret music machines have such great tones. Nice job
You are my acoustic blues spirit animal!
Stunning!
You usually dazzle with your virtuosity, but here, your expression and feel catch me in a slow groove. Some of your best work. Thanks again.
Thank you, for playing, for the lessons, all good

Lovely version well done. Getting to love them guitars with 12 frets to the body. Also is that a short scale guitar ? Well done.
Yes, most of my guitars have a short scale.
