    I can see 2 sides to that coin. I think on one side, you can probably get more consistent effort out of guys, rep for rep, in the morning when it’s less hot but, on the other side, Bama plays at 11 am and 2:30 pm in this southern heat and I think what Coach Saban was trying to do was condition guys to push past that challenge and learn to think and execute despite being hot and tired

      I agree with that but at the end of the day I think if you are well conditioned then the time which practice and run throughs happen may not matter. After all it’s still insanely hot in the summer and I think the practice piece was referring to during the season

      Yes sir that's/ the reason some of those championship teams just wore people down

      I agree with OP, but we gotta let DeBoer run his program. Both philosophies can win.

    I definitely think there have been signs that the energy is different and just things seem less tense around the football team. Bama got probably the best possible coach to follow Saban considering everything. Enjoyed the video and subbed :) Roll Tide!

      Couldn’t agree more. The energy is 100% different and seems that the players are feeding off of that. I think DeBoer has passed the first test of recruiting with flying colors and doesn’t seem to be stopping there.

    Afternoon heat is dangerous IMHO…and at some point counterproductive

      I agree and I think summer conditioning and such will get them ready that fall morning practices will be sufficient

    There's going to be a lot of overreacting this first year, maybe even two. Does DeBoer have a great roster and staff to work with- yes! But, the expectation by many that he, and this program, have to hit the ground running, maintain the same continuity, and keep the same high-level of winning as under Saban is a little much the first year or so. I can already see and feel the exaggerated criticism in Tuscaloosa if Alabama has two losses by October. The cries of DeBoer being the "wrong hire" will be pervasive. Give the man time to build things his way!

      @BarnesonBama  21 день тому +1

      I agree whole heartedly. But from everything I have seen DeBoer knows what’s expected of him and is building and doing things his way to achieve those goals

      @BarnesonBama He completely understands the pressure, the expectations and, the overall situation he's getting into. If anything, I like how he's embraced it and met it head-on so far. I'm more directly addressing the "outside noise" and the myopic and unrealistic expectations that emanate from the fanbase and boosters. Demands that will reveal their ugly face and that will accompany any early season setbacks or losses. While I believe DeBoer is capable of maintaining Alabama as a Top 5 program overall, the expectation that he does so immediately, without any bumps in the road, might be too much to ask right away. Saban's dominant tenor in Tuscaloosa has virtually created a no-win situation for DeBoer, especially in the short-term! We will see!

    • @BarnesonBama
      @BarnesonBama  21 день тому +2

      Oh I 100% agree as that was something even Saban himself wasn’t immune to. Think of the 1 point win over Ark when Saban ripped into fans after the game saying some walked out looking like we had lost. The expectations of this place are sky high and have always been that way

    Talking about recruits is a waste of time. These kids can change their mind in a moment. They’re not on the team and they will not be playing this season. It’s nice when people focus on the kids who can actually make a difference that are actually on the team

    Saban was and could be an ego-maniac and a real horse’s ass. After a player graduated, he would/could be a great supporter.

    • @BarnesonBama
      @BarnesonBama  20 днів тому

      Absolutely. But what a player is willing to deal with is tied to the results they see and Saban got results
