Had the opportunity to meet coach Deboer for a shoot at the athletic facility. The stark difference in personality between him and coach Saban in terms of friendliness is nuts. He’s an insanely nice guy.
I felt this was the right hire from the beginning, but I’m even more sure now. I’m not expecting him to be Saban. If Saban from 2007 walked through the door now EVEN HE he couldn’t duplicate what he did from 07-23. The whole CFB landscape has changed. I’m gonna let Coach DeBoers tenure stand on its own and my fellow Bama fans need to let this guy build his own legacy and not be constantly tempted to compare him to Coach Saban.
No way Jose! We are gonna ramp up expectations to an insane level and freak out after the first loss (and there better not be one for at least…3 full seasons) and I think that mentality is the only reasonable one to have.
@@adamwyker4800 Iiif you believe that you're in for a long haul. I don't see bama winning more than 6 this year and never above 8. This wasn't the right hire. He's in over his head which is why he was unable to hire any proven coaches.

As a South Dakota native myself, I find myself in a state of conflict because I really want to see Kalen succeed, but I want to see the end of the Alabama dynasty. I love Matt Rhule but I wish Kalen had been hired at Nebraska instead of Alabama.
There’s a press conference where he said something like “there’s no other place, well not many other places I would have left Washington for”, when I heard that I thought he’s talking about nebraska. I wanted him at nebraska back in 2008, but I thought as a coordinator never thought he would reach these heights.
The Tide has been winning for a century. There's been a lot of highs and some lows but the trophy case proves that Bama is the king of CFB. The Tide dynasty will never die.
I’m very excited for the coming season and the future of Alabama Football with Coach DeBoer. I’ve seen many interviews with Coach and am impressed every time not just that he’s a great coach but that he’s also a great person. The great human being part is something he shares with Greg! I also agree with Greg’s comments on Les/Less Miles. Miles had to keep going with what Saban built at Loserana College yet his only NC was really won because of Saban’s recruited and developed players. Much like “Odious O” at lsu, when describing Les the word CLASS would never be part of the conversation.

So, if a team wins a game by cheating, the win should still count? To use a little hyperbole, if UMass secretly suited up the New England Patriots' players and beat Notre Dame, do you still give UMass the win? To use your logic, we saw the game and UMass won! If the answer is no, then how much cheating should you be allowed to do and still keep the win? If they just used Tom Brady? Or will you just have no rule, and decide on the fly? I love ya Greg, but cheating has to pay the highest of tolls if you want to deter it. And financial penalties mean nothing to the wealthy programs. Texas would gladly pay millions in fines for a natty. Look at Michigan. They knew Harbaugh cheated and suspended him twice in one season, and they were happy to take the trophy and run Harbaugh off. Only the wins matter to them. The ONLY leverage you can get to deter cheating is to take away the wins.
