I just want to send a shout-out to Joel for supporting owners and keeping his commenters in check. Anyone seeking professional help with their dog and more importantly with themselves is a responsible and active dog owner. They deserve praise and support. Training is hard, and thanks to great trainers like Joel, we don't have to do it alone.
    Stay positive and train on.

This is one of the best large dog owners I have seen. Not just because he can physically handle this size of dog but because he understands that discipline is paramount when it comes to large dogs. It really shows how much he loves his dog since large dogs are not given any chances once they make a mistake and attack a person. By instilling discipline he's helping his dog protect his own life. Great job and great dog!

Im sorry i know this a whole nother subject.. damn did this remind me exactly of this.. theres too many law men and cops who love the power, and power trip far too damn much to be walking around w a gun, its like having some meek or small person going around walking a massive unit like the big dog here… if something goes wrong.. like if someone tried to attack or even just approach this dog owner the wrong way… and the dog attacks, its game over… but why is that?. Its not the dogs fault.. its not the guy getting attacks fault? Its maybe not even the dog owners fault ! Its just a bad combination to have together like that.. a recipe for disaster as they say… cop who power trips.. or just enjoys that power a bit too much and/maybe was bullied or picked on when he was little, and now that hes big a and has a gun he can use.. basically when he wants/ “feels” like he needs to is just bad all around. Lets help all our guard people and guard dogs get all the help they need and hey, maybe if there not meant for the job, theres other things that can be done in life? Its not bad, and its safer and so much better for everyone

Dear whoever reads it, I am writing to you out of respect and despair. I have a 2 year old Central Asian Shepherd who is the most beautiful dog I've ever seen. He's been with me for 3 months and everyone in the house loves him. He receives love and returns it. He is totally loyal. A bit stubborn but obedient in the end. But he has a click in his head, he is a murderer. He doesn't growl at dogs, he doesn't bark, he doesn't give warnings. Just sneak up on him or approach him lightly and grab him by the neck. When that happens, don't let him go until he kills him. No matter what I do to him, he won't let him go as long as he's alive. Like a wolf. I can drag him across the concrete, beat him, spray water in his eyes. I put my hands in his mouth and open jaw to pull out the dog. I saved only one of the 4 dogs he caught. He doesn't touch people. But dogs, puppies, cats, birds, if he gets the chance, he will kill them. The community is afraid of him, they are afraid for the children. I am afraid that he will be poisoned. What should I do? Is there a way to talk him out of it? The only dog he has normal interaction with is one female he mated. I can't let him kill anyone else. I'll gladly pay for good advice that doesn't sound like keeping him on a chain for the next 10 years until he dies of old age.
Thanks in advance to everyone. My email is: djole.grekoss@yahoo.com

It's a no-win situation if it goes down that route. Yes, the dog will win a fight against pretty much any other dog, but... Then it will get put down by law. No one gains from that. Huge dogs like these need to only be aggressive when there's something life-threatening happening to the household, like riots or violent home invaders.
Short of that, they really shouldn't be fighting anything, except maybe the urge to jump through the sprinklers during a warm summer day. We're not in a Mad Max world yet. We're still civilized. Doggos have to be, too.

I like how at the end kalen tells you he DOESN'T want Kong to fear him, but he still knows who the boss is. I think that's super important to emphasize! Dogs should be led and directed, commanded, taught, but it should be out of mutual respect ,love and loyalty, NOT fear. There are too many owners who get dogs they are not prepared for and then hit them or punish or treat them badly instead of leading and teaching them. This owner was great. The video was really informative and I like how you and the owners can show that corrections shouldnt and DON'T need to be made to hurt or scare the dog. That's really important and it's the more responsible, moral way to own an animal.

I love this owner, he’s like me with my large German shepherd. People think I am mean when I stop him from getting out of hand. But that’s being a responsible dog owner. Everyone loves your big dog but when they get rambunctious, they get on you about controlling your dog. They can’t have it both ways, you’re the owner, you are the leader. To heck with what other people think. People always think they are tough when they play with your gentle giant, but the owner knows the quirks and has to be in control at all times. Even if that means hurting someone else’s feelings. Good on this man. He’s a great dog owner. 👍 I would love Beckmann to have a week with my boy free of charge, only because I can’t afford dog training. I think my boy would respond well and become even better than he is. That’s why I watch him and try my best. Thanks 🙏

What a stunning dog and mad props to the owners for the level of respect they show to other dogs/owners as well as wanting the best for their good boy. Also, definitely 100% appreciate the comments about not allowing people making inappropriate comments. The mere fact that people are looking for help with their dogs (or whatever it is in life people are reaching out for help with) shows that they have a desire to learn, improve and get better. Can't fault that in the slightest.

As a big dog owner myself, im glad to see another good big dog owner. I have four pitbulls, ranging from 90lbs to 190lbs. Not gonna lie. I was starting to have slight doubts about the way i handle my 190lb King Pit, because he is very much the same way as this big boy. And im no where as big as his owner is( im 5'5" and 150lbs)😂. Leverage is the main thing with me when it comes to getting them back under control. I've watched other trainers because i personally dont believe in using just one source. What works with one dog won't nessasarily work on every dog. You are the first ive seen not only acknowledge the owners skills, but also keeping your commenters in check as well.

This is a great video to watch, well done guys 🤓
As Kongs breeder, we are very proud to see this 😎.
Kong looks good, is still developing of course and has a long way to go before he’s fully matured.
Kongs owner is a responsible (and very nice) guy. He’s always in touch with us, keeping us up to date and regularly chatting with us about kong, his behaviour, and the best ways to continue with Kongs development.
We wished more owners were like him. Nothing is too much trouble, from diet, to supplementation to training. He understands the breed that he has, he takes raising Kong seriously and he knows that being the boss with a Boerboel is super important.
Kong was a puppy that we did not want to let go, bred from two of our best dogs here in the UK. To see him in these situations acting the way that he does, is a credit to his owner and his lineage.
Too many Boerboels, particularly males at this age, just would not be able to be in this situation without there being issues.
All other Boerboel owners should really take note of this video. Hats off to Kalen.

Really nice dog & well placed. We need more owners like Kalen! I've worked with a Fila breeder who stopped producing puppies due to the lack of good potential owners. He got tired of taking back young dogs who needed extensive remediation. 6 months of inconsistent discipline results in an unstable dog & with big guardian breeds, it's hard to undo the damage.
