Hi, I'm back after taking yoyr advice and it has finally resolved my issue. No more leaking oil into the turbo manifold, DPF & exhaust. No longer oil also goung into the intercooler and air inlet system and no oil coming out the dipstick. Cant thank you enough. Car been off the road for 4 months as i had to fix it myself. Garage wanted £1500, done it for under 500 including this part and rebuilt turbo. Thank you 😊
Thank you for the diesel engine education . Never aware that excessive blowby gas could rarely create a 'closed loop' of scavenging oil from the crankcase until the thing runs out of crankcase oil or destroys itself I hope I have this correct. It makes perfect sense.
Sir, thank you for the video, very detailed and just explained the issues I have with my old l200 truck, that makes no smoke and runs fine but just started to spit oil from the dipstick hole.
You Sir, have by far made the best explanation video regarding the importance of a working PCV Valve. Very detailed with common symptoms, causes and fixes. Most of the other channels focus on outstanding visuals (intros, graphics, loud disturbing music, you name it!). You, on the other hand, go straight to the point. Subscribed and liked!!!👍
One simple question... Having any amount of white smoke coming out of the dipstick hole once the engine has reached working temperature is ALWAYS related to a bad PCV Valve?
@@MrDIYer Thanks a lot for your reply! The thing is I don't know if my pcv valve is working. I was trying to relate that to the light white smoke coming out from the dipstick hole while the engine is running already warm.
Thank you sir for the valuable information 👌These channels are the best bit of social media ! But do I understand correct that a diesel engine can not be the problem of excessive blowby ? In that case it must be the PCV valve. I also have no vacuum under the oil filler cap. It's rather blowing out air/smoke a little bit there as well. And under normal circumstances the car smells pretty bad but not necessarily from the rear..
Thanks for the video, very well explained. Now struggling with my Alfa 159 1.9Jtdm deciding if its worth to repair or just easier to get another engine in there 😅
I'm getting smoke (but no oil) from the dipstick tube once the engine is warm (Toyota 3S-FE 2.0 petrol). It also isn't sucking air in from the dipstick tube. I've replaced the PCV valve and cleaned out the valve cover and baffles are all clear. The PCV hose to the intake is sucking air very strong and PCV valve is working correctly, but the breather from before the throttle body to the valve cover is hardly sucking into the valve cover. When I take off the oil filler cap it is blowing air/gases very much, but the engine does not change/stall. What could be the problem? There doesn't seem to be an egr valve or maf sensor but there is a map sensor that has a 'gas filter' before it. Could a faulty map sensor or clogged 'gas filter' cause this? No lights on the dash either. What would be your actions to diagnose this problem? A compression test on each cylinder?
Kabayan anu kaya problema kapag may lumalabas na usok at tumatalsik na langis sa engine cap tas dipstick? Anu recommendations and anu ang pros and cons kapag ginagamit palang na d pinapaayos. Salamat sa pag sagot.
Very excellent demonstration and information and tips. you have taken lot of effort s to do this. Really you are a very good teacher May God bless you for careing environment and really great video . Thank you 🙏🙏🙏👌👌🕺🔧⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐💐💐💐💐💐
In the M57 oil vapour or smoke coming out of oil filler cap is normal. It should not lift the oil cap when placed upside down but can escape. Many bmw owners see this even on low miles . This doesn’t mean worn out engine . Please explain if I’m wrong
Check PCV valves it may be stuck in closed position.. And if the car gives out blue smoke and blowby at the same time then it is definitely back compression
Great video.. Very informative and very well explained.. Out of topic.. What could cause a map sensor code... I've replaced parts like crazy and i still can figure it out.
It could be anything from a dirty air filter to a dirty fuel filter or misfiring sparkplugs etc or the sensor itself. Even a torn or loose air hose or clamps. I suggest start with the simplest that doeant require replacing parts like check for loose clamps. Try to run the engjne with and without air filter etc.

If engine is cold it is ok to have a very little (minute) amount of oil coming out due to viscosity. But if its squirting you might want to check it. How was it now?
Hi @Mr.DIYer, thanks for the great info. I would like to share that there is one more possibility about blowby causes that is a failing head gasket on a 10 k rebuilded engine, I mean that is not always needed a rebuild, it can be also a bad head gasket that leaks compression gases into the oil line which hits the crankcase and spills engine oil throuh the dipstick. Do you agree?

Where is pcv valve located in innova 2.5 diesel engine.
Sir pag po black smoke ano ibig sabihin? Mas hndi raw maganda yung white or blue smoke..tnx
Newer engines have more blowby. Low tension piston rings in addition to way too thin oil means oil consumption and carbon buildup in the gdi intake.
So, maybe remove the thermostat, so the engine is always cooler😊

No pcv valve on diesel engines. Only on gas engines. You may have one worn out cylinder. Perfom compression test
