Yes it is scary to think that of all the wrestlers on the front cover Hogan is the only one still alive. Time goes so quick yet wrestlers seem to be dropping like flies nowadays
I still have this game for my NES and from time to time, I would just play the hell out of it like I'm 12 years old all over again.I always play as the Ultimate Warrior and Big Boss Man..Sweet tunes!!!
One of my most memorable Nintendo games, plus this was back when both WWF (yeah I said it.....WWF) as well as WCW were at their greatest peaks! I loved this game and these days from back then!
The gameplay was fun and the graphics were fairly decent at the time. This was the first WWE game to feature a character as a representative of yourself within the game, although I never chose him because he was kinda lame compared to the greats on the game.
I didn't know it was David Wise who did the music for this game. I've always enjoyed it and now I know why; there's no such thing as a bad Wise soundtrack🤩
LJN Defender...please take a look at this game :) I had fond memories of this game growing up, even fell asleep just listening to the "Macho King Randy Savage" theme when I was a kid :)
The one memory I had of this game is raging at the fact that when using Andre the Giant, I couldn't get back in the fucking ring after he mistakenly jumps out of it. What a total pain that was.
Lillian Griffin I don't think he could do it. He's talked about it - the games have to give him material. There's some cheesy shit here, but it's pretty straightforward and simplistic. Plus, a lot of it was done right. LJN always did right by their wrestling titles back in the day. Maybe he could put it in a future "Wishlist" video.
Except for the diagonal controls I could never quite get used to, this game is pretty cool. Does anyone else think In-Between Rounds sounds like something you'd hear in a 1950s diner? I'm not seeing your picture in her collection, Wiiguy309. Does she have another one?
I'll never get over how the sprites and animation graphics were cartoonish in the same way as Time Lord, but then again Rare developed that one for Milton Bradley. Anyone notice how the P1 & P2 generic wrestlers had the same face and hairdoo as Time Lord, himself?
Imagine some kids would stay up and play this game for hours and hours. Freakin crazy. And they would only come out when the pizza man finally delivered food and their parents yelled at them to get their butts to dinning room table.
Do you mind if we here at Greasy T Studios use this music as our outro music in possibly multiple videos??? We'll credit you of course! - Kelly (UA-cam Production Assistant)
still shocks me that the million dollar man wasnt in this game. as he was like hogan, andre and macho(which he also didnt make it in a game due to his retirement match loss at wm7) who was practically in every wwf game during this era. wouldve had him in over hacksaw jim duggan or brutus beefcake which gives it an unbalanced face heel ratio. even more so since andre the giant turned face after wm6
Only Hulk Hogan's the only one on the cover that's still alive as of now. Andre The Giant died in 1993, Big Boss Man in 2004, Randy Savage in 2011, and The Ultimate Warrior earlier this year.
I don't get it. Whenever I try downloading these from the direct link (any of them. Not just for this game), it just downloads a blank RAR file onto my desktop. And I can't open it or anything.
Yes he could. Several times, I got him to climb back into the ring. However, it was by sheer dumb luck by mashing buttons, so they must've made some unbelievably cryptic control scheme for doing so.
+Dr.Beef You're right, he could. You just stand next to the ropes and double press d-pad in direction of ropes. That way works for every character. I found this way long after mastering this game :P
IF you are playing as Andre the giant push A,B, and Select all at the same time. He'll jump back into the ring. You may have to press start too. I'm not 100% positive.
This game was my childhood, back when Wrestling was exciting and amazing as a kid, now it seems way too idk glitzy not that the new superstars have no talent.. it just got way too predictable and the characters aren't as exciting
The menu music from this game has been getting me psyched for over 20 years.
Same here.
it's my ringtone lol
@@auzzy231 Been mine for almost 3 years, noone gets it.
Player ones theme tho.
Imagine playing this at a disco
Hogan is the only one on this cover who hasn't passed away. So sad that these greats are gone.
i agree
Wow, I didn't realize that until I saw your comment. Not only are legends are dying but so is the sport.
grayfox1471 "Uh, Brutus The Barber Beefcake & Hacksaw Jim Duggan are still around with Hollywood Hulk Hogan." 🤔💭💖🎮🕹️📱💻📀📼🎥🎞️📽️🎬📺📷📸📈🔮 #WWF #WWE #WCW
Yes it is scary to think that of all the wrestlers on the front cover Hogan is the only one still alive. Time goes so quick yet wrestlers seem to be dropping like flies nowadays
@Tony sabroso yeah...you can see them on Raw.
Something about the Andre theme that they nailed. It's ominous but active and playful.
David Wise. Always making those soundtrack wonders.
Donkey Kong Country 2 one of my favorites. Love every song.
this game had such a great soundtrack, even the songs that weren't wrestlers' entrance themes. :)
Love this game. Me and my brother completed this game in single mode and as tag team champions
I always used to hum Andre's theme when someone big goes by.
As did I, Fucking Fantastic
I used to make up lyrics to all the themes as a kid XD
Mega Sega Fan Any specific lyrics?
@@DefLeppardVanHalen "I'm so retarded; I think I farted" -- to Andre's theme. Keep in mind that my brother, cousins, and I were about 9-12. 😄
@@megasegafan3947 so did I... one of them started "when it comes crashin down and it hurts inside..."
The best years of wwf!!!!!!! They can not ever reach this level of interest and excitement!!!!
Ultimate Warrior's theme sounds like a dog scratching himself.
Nah, that's IRS' theme in Steel Cage Challenge
@ 3:55 Ravishing Rick Rude's Theme is the best song in the game cuz it's Simply Ravishing
The gameplay was fun and the graphics were fairly decent at the time. This was the first WWE game to feature a character as a representative of yourself within the game, although I never chose him because he was kinda lame compared to the greats on the game.
WWF!!!
You can never go wrong with David Wise
ah victory theme, the only time you will ever see Andre jump up and down while smiling
Everyone on the cover (except hogan) is now dead! That's depressing
hell yes great gamesoundtrack, and my the best wwf game for the nes. i completed this game without dying. i did the ultimate challenge.
I didn't know it was David Wise who did the music for this game. I've always enjoyed it and now I know why; there's no such thing as a bad Wise soundtrack🤩
LJN Defender...please take a look at this game :)
I had fond memories of this game growing up, even fell asleep just listening to the "Macho King Randy Savage" theme when I was a kid :)
*Hears the first three seconds of the bassline*
That's so David Wise- yup.
That Bossman theme!
that brutus theme
They did a damn good job with the music!
Takes me back!! Music from this game really stuck with me.
The beginning intro is the powers of pain theme!
best part about this game, the title screen showing Ultimate Warrior holding the world belt RIP warrior and like 80% of the roster in this game
Well, the roster would would've been based around WrestleMania 6.
The Spirit of the Ultimate Warrior will live Forever
1:32 was one i rmember as a hyper song lol
This is far better than the KOTR NES OST. Wow that's a lot of abbreviations.
the title music is the theme from survivor series 1988.. also survivor was the working title for this game.
Out of all the games characters, Hogan, Beefcake, and Duggen are the only ones still alive.
lostways27 "Thank-You #lostways27 for the reminder, Thank-You, that's exactly what I was talking about." 😔💖👏👏👏🎮🕹️📱💻📺🔮
You really wanna savor this, play em all on x .75 speed. Amazing. Andre's theme was the hardest. So many good ones tho.
My first Nintendo game along with TMNT @ The Arcade Game. Best Xmas present ever
player 2 theme has potential for a sick 80s rock remix!
Brutus the barber was on the original cover replaced by big boss man after beefcakes boating injury
Also Ultimate Warrior champion at the time, made this game amazing, Warrior was my hero as a kid
The title screen graphic of him looked amazing, particularly for the time.
Shame on the developers for ripping off New Kids on the Block for part of the Player 2 Music.
And shame on me for catching that lol
The one memory I had of this game is raging at the fact that when using Andre the Giant, I couldn't get back in the fucking ring after he mistakenly jumps out of it. What a total pain that was.
I would LOVE to see AVGN review this LJN game.
Lillian Griffin Because you love the game, or because you think it's awful?
I personally loved this game growing up
So awful, it's good.
Lillian Griffin I don't think he could do it. He's talked about it - the games have to give him material. There's some cheesy shit here, but it's pretty straightforward and simplistic. Plus, a lot of it was done right. LJN always did right by their wrestling titles back in the day.

True.
+Lillian Griffin
This one just might fall just a little short of a perfect candidate on the _shit_ scale, but I'd enjoy that episode anyway.
Great memories! Thank you!
That opening theme song
R.I.P:
"Ravishing" Rick Rude
Big Boss Man
Andre The Giant
"Macho King" Randy Savage
The Ultimate Warrior
0:57 classic David Wise
Except for the diagonal controls I could never quite get used to, this game is pretty cool.
Does anyone else think In-Between Rounds sounds like something you'd hear in a 1950s diner?
I'm not seeing your picture in her collection, Wiiguy309. Does she have another one?
always had to be Player 2 because DAT MUSIC THO
7:39 RIP Macho man, almost cried =(
Mega Sega Fan I teared up at his theme. Dammit
did anyone ever have the game malfunction were you could walk in the crowd
Yes.
I'll never get over how the sprites and animation graphics were cartoonish in the same way as Time Lord, but then again Rare developed that one for Milton Bradley. Anyone notice how the P1 & P2 generic wrestlers had the same face and hairdoo as Time Lord, himself?
2:15 my favorite theme song... Which song is or was that?
Player 2 song
Imagine some kids would stay up and play this game for hours and hours. Freakin crazy. And they would only come out when the pizza man finally delivered food and their parents yelled at them to get their butts to dinning room table.
Still Better than WWE12
and 13 14 15 16 17 18 19 20 probably 21
In-between Rounds sounds like Heath Cliff theme
Miggy Jacinto jajajaja no shit
it took me two years to figure out how to tag my partner probably should have read the instructions oh well greetings from BUFFALO N.Y.
Rude was my guy. You could hit the RUDE AWAKENING like an rko.
i wish andres music was andres music its pure bangin
Do you mind if we here at Greasy T Studios use this music as our outro music in possibly multiple videos??? We'll credit you of course! - Kelly (UA-cam Production Assistant)
I remember going nutz when I found out Ultimate Warrior was in the game...
1:32 WWF Superstars theme for the Game Boy
still shocks me that the million dollar man wasnt in this game. as he was like hogan, andre and macho(which he also didnt make it in a game due to his retirement match loss at wm7) who was practically in every wwf game during this era. wouldve had him in over hacksaw jim duggan or brutus beefcake which gives it an unbalanced face heel ratio. even more so since andre the giant turned face after wm6
Cool
wow only three wrestlers in this game is still alive

Maximus4587 Beefcake, Duggan, and Hogan are the only ones alive, but on the cover YES, Hogan is the only one living
I wonder who the themes for player 1 and player 2 were designed for in real life or was Jim Johnson just free styling
Were Hacksaw and Andre's themes based on anything? Because they sure are any entrance themes they had at that time.
Bossman's theme at 1.25 speed!
If It's possible could you do WWF King of the Ring and WWF WrestleMania Steel Cage Challenge? Me and my iPhone would appreciate it greatly
2:15 And 3:06 Reminds Me Of Mega Man
Agreed
i'm listening to this while i am shopping for WWF 80s and 90s original merchandise on the internet (magazines, vhs, toys, cards, posters, games, ++++)
I don't get it. Whenever I try downloading these from the direct link (any of them. Not just for this game), it just downloads a blank RAR file onto my desktop. And I can't open it or anything.
5:56 IMO JIM DUGGANS THEME WAS THE BEST IN THW GAME
6:47 along with Andre the giants
Ultimate Warrior throws Andre out of the ring = auto win. Andre couldn't climb back into the ring.
Yes he could. Several times, I got him to climb back into the ring. However, it was by sheer dumb luck by mashing buttons, so they must've made some unbelievably cryptic control scheme for doing so.

macho man
The original (WWF Wrestlemania) soundtrack so much better.
My friend sold coke to Eddie Guerro and Jake the Snake one time.
Rick rude
when the soundtrack is better than the game
Still better than WWE2K20.
Haha
This game was my childhood, back when Wrestling was exciting and amazing as a kid, now it seems way too idk glitzy not that the new superstars have no talent.. it just got way too predictable and the characters aren't as exciting
Ass most of these hall of famers are gone wwe is slowly dying as well
