It's funny they said it wa weakest part but they explained so many things that are basically making me want the game more and prob spend 90% of the time in story mode. 😂
@@harry1178 4 frames is a lot actually. consider that most startup attacks have like 8 frames of startup that means that your follow-up attack is now twice as fast. depending on the move you do. 4 frames can be the difference between being hit or not. it's the extra amount of pressure, especially if the other person can do their drive-rush-cancel attacks while you are just standing there. Perform a special-cancelable-attack > driverush into grab. Because you need to wait X amount of frames before you can grab someone after hitting their block. this becomes a much easier task when the other person is in burnout. On top of that keep in mind that burnout lasts a while. so that means its +4 frames on every move you do following your initial attack.
Major props for actually getting the appeal of DI and how it makes the game click, a lesser reviewer might've given up trying before clicking with it like a dedicated player does
Never really been a huge fan of street fight but I'm very happy see this one do so well!!! Fighting games are amazing and need a great comeback year!!! Just think we have alot more coming folks!!! Anyone who bought this hope you have a great time!

With everything SF6 is doing for offline content, training tools, and it’s decent net code /load times in online, Tekken 8 has REALLY gotta step its game up this time around.

Amazing review. Helped me really understand what’s new about the game and how to utilize it. As someone who only played SFV for maybe 10 hours and never played any other traditional fighter, this helps a lot
For me, it’s the avatar battles that I’m looking forward to the most. Nothing worse than playing someone who knows your character SOO well and has an answer for everything. With AVATAR battle, you can keep an ace up your sleeve or create a move set that balances out a characters weakness. It’s going to be great or very annoying if people start using a meta:
Every game is always going to have a meta. Don’t limit yourself, you should fight players online because at the end of the day look at it as you improving even if you lose.
Uh, what? Learning matchups inside and out is kind of necessary in order to tap into the best high-level experience with a fighting game. Like, both players need to have meaningful knowledge of each other's characters in order for mind games to even be possible.
Capcom is really dropping bangers this year. It was never my favourite company but they really earned my respect with RE2 and 4 Remake, and this game is definitely something I'll try out
Drive impact is the equivalent of nuclear weapons. Best counter to a random drive impact is a drive impact on reaction. So at higher level play people are afraid to use them because most skilled players can react to them. At best it can be used to punish a predictable poke.
This is only half a review. We all know to get the FULL game this will be at least a $200 investment. Who's not going to want to use akuma, bison, evil ryu, sagat, etc. when they're released?

Can you comment on how to obtain classic costumes at all? They've been advertised in screenshots and videos for months now, which seem to suggest they are part of the base game, but no one has said anything about how to unlock them.

CAPCOM is my favorite publisher and developer of the last couple of years. Since 2017 they just don't miss! They released Monster Hunter World and Rise, RE7,8 and the Remakes, Street Fighter 6 and DMC5 within just 6 years! with RE9, MH6 and Dragons Dagma 2 in the works, the future is looking bright!
me personally I've been dreaming for a rpg story in street fighter forever.. the other games get boring after playing ranked and only fighting kens and ryus all day world tour for the win..
Street Fighter 6 is my first Street Fighter game and I've been having a lot of fun with the game. this is also one of the best IGN review I've seen in a long time
Surprised you didn't mention how spectacular the arty style and the animations look! It really is a sight to behold. Still, it was a wonderful review and it got me excited to play this. I'm a huge fan of SF and SF6 looks like a huge step forward for the franchise!
If they released that single player mode for free they may make new players comfortable enough with the system to buy the full game. I'll definitely try that story mode once this is free on PSN

World Tour mode is great because it subtly teaches you how core fighting game concepts
There's also single player Arcade mode he didn't talk about for some reason. Each Character has their own story and art.
It doesent have to have a deep story to be fun. Interacting with the legendary fighters is enough for me.

Definitely, considering Tekken 7 offline content was lackluster and they haven't shown us anything about the offline content in Tekken 8 yet.

Lackluster animation, derpy physics and crappy lighting with so much gloss that everyone looks like Hakkan. But sure, the rest is decent.

Capcom is on fire. Exoprimal looks to not hold up to the same standard though, but Dragon's Dogma will inadvertently be incredible.
All we need is a Mega Man X9 or Legends remake in the RE Engine, maybe a Dead Rising remake and a new Lost Planet similar to Monster Hunter World/Rise
