I LOVE this! My university has me student teach for an entire year, so that I can experience both a private school and a public school. I am heading into my 1st semester of student teaching and I have just started creating a portfolio so that I can fill it as I go. Thanks for sharing your portfolio!
Thanks for the video! I created a portfolio and gave it to 5 schools at a job fair, 3 asked for an interview, and the first two offered me a job before the last interview! I'm not sure that they even looked at what I had inside, but THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR SHARING!! I think that having one prepared helped me to stand out from the get-go!
I like the simplicity of your resume. I also was thinking of just writing down my position , the name of school, and state as related experience. I notice you didn't write the duties or description of your assignment but I assume if it was a teaching position then principals would know what you did.

Loosee Voo no, I made enough for them to keep. Especially at a job fair, the principals will want to go back and take a closer look at them since there are usually a lot of people trying to talk to them. I also have taken some to interviews for the principal to keep.
I just graduated in December and student taught in high school social studies. My goal has always been to teach in my hometown so I decided to get more certifications and now I have an interview there on Monday for middle school ELA/reading!! I’m so nervous 😱

Chloe Newell Hi Chloe! Congrats on graduating!! I looked online for teaching cover letters and pulled inspiration from several I liked. I basically used it to give a snapshot of things they would see in my resume. I talked about where I went to school, why I want a job at that specific school (unless it was for the job fair, that one was more generic), and different things that I have participated in that would qualify me for the job. I also thanked them for considering me and that I looked forward to hearing from them. It’s really all about taking inspiration from others and making it your own! I hope this helps!
tpsu129 Since I already had a portfolio before I went it the job fair, I just used what I had. But you can definitely just take some resumes and a few portfolios for the schools you are really wanting to get an interview with. To me, bringing a really nice portfolio set me apart from a sea of faces that they saw for a few hours and made me memorable.
