This topic caught my eye yesterday. I realized I could make a video out of it. Regardless of what they do, I'll be excited to see The Rock complete the Tribal Chief storyline. I just wish it didn't have anything to do with the title. What do you think?

Yeah I prefer this feud without the title as well. After all, people liked The Rock and John Cena feud without the title. Plus, these two are related and since The Bloodline storyline has to do with their bloodline, people will be interested in this feud because this has to do with family and who is the true Tribal Chief of this family.

The problem is Reigns can’t lose before Mania he needs to be undefeated going into the Rock match. Also it would over shadow the title matches which doesn’t help

Adding a stipulation makes it predictable on who's winning. An example of this was Cena vs Reigns at Summerslam, that match could have gone either way until Roman said he'd quit if he didn't leave as champ.

This is definitely one of the most hyped up matches ever in recent memory. Who knows if it’ll happen or not, but if it does, I think it doesn’t need a title. Their family history alone tells a fantastic story, and those kinds of stories are way better in my opinion.

I think that it could work like this..
Roman and Rocks feud get so heated that they would start unloading punches on each other whenever they even see one another. Rock says that he wants a match with the Tribal Chief Roman Reigns, Roman Reigns just tells Rock that he doesn’t deserve a shot at his universal title because he thinks that Rock is just a sellout in Hollywood. Rock then says “did you ever hear The Rock say that he wanted to challenge you for that dumba*** title? NO, because The Rock only wants to kick your jabroni a*** at the greatest stage of all, WRESTLEMANIAAA, and nothing more! And I’ll be the one to end your reign, so know your role and SHUT YOUR MOUTH”. Meanwhile Cody Rhodes also has a match with Roman Reigns, but it’s for the title on night two, and rocks match will be on night one. The reason why it’s like that is so that we could build the ultimate baby face (even if rock vs Roman is a bigger match)

A title actively makes this match worse.
    Title, Roman wins: Predictable
Title, Rock wins: Unpredictable, but also nonsensical as this is a 50-year old man who hasn't wrestled in over half a decade beating their supposed "god mode" face of the company and to make matters worse, if you think Roman is awful as a champion because of his shitty part time schedule, wait until you see Rock's championship run.
The only way adding a title works is if: Rock, who only intends to stick around for a month or two, wins via interference, and leads to a storyline involving greater conflicts within their family. They fight again this time with the Bloodline and whatever is on Rock's side battling out in the ring with Roman and Rock as the main attraction before Roman ultimately wins. But that's really just stretching something out that doesn't have much reason to be stretched, which can be solved by just having Roman win the first go.

Hear me out, I think Roman losing the title would be a great way to kickstart the feud. Here's the situation:
Within now and Mania, Roman is dethroned as champ which not only hurts the family's venue, but also frees the titles for more matches on the card. The Bloodline are desperately trying to get their spots back but are defeated in every endeavor: Rumble, Chamber, TLC, etc.
With Mania around the corner, it's looking like Reigns won't be getting the big payday he does every year because he doesn't have a match. Throughout this drought, his opponents will take digs at him not being the head of the table, claiming that the position now belongs to The Rock. Every time someone brings him up however, Roman goes ballistic and destroys them.
These attacks will become more gruesome as Mania grows closer. With the show around the corner, Roman does a standard Tribal Chief promo and is interrupted by The Rock. Fans are cheering, commentary is freaking out, classic Rock return. Rock doesn't come out burying Roman but extends a helping hand, offering to take care of the family until Roman can get back to his spot as the top guy. Roman, however, can't take Rock's condescending tone, and puts him on blast about not being in the ring for a while. Rock throws out the claim that if he were in WWE on a regular basis, Reigns' time as champ would have been much shorter.
The Bloodline tries to defuse the tension and all seems well as Rock again extends a hand to Roman. Roman takes it after a moment to think but immediately drills The Rock, beating him to near death. The desperation, the frustration, along with the jealousy of Rock's career and love from the fans (something Roman never truly got) sends Roman over the edge. From then on, it's a quickly escalating conflict that has the Bloodline caught in the middle.
They definitely don't need the straps to make this match money.

My man WP coming through with the content! Personally, I don't think Roman vs Rock should be for the titles, as no one expects Rock to win the titles. However, without the titles, it adds a layer of story to it, as Roman, having lost both titles, would need to win against The Rock in order to redeem himself and firmly establish himself as the Head of the Table.

I honestly thought they would have Roman drop one or both titles before a match vs the Rock in order to have a sort of “true head of the table” match. It would be a way to keep Roman strong after losing one or both titles. Losing the titles would bring in the Rock who is questioning Roman, and may even have the bloodline leave Roman for Rock until Roman beats him down at mania, recovering his status.

If it does happen it definitely doesn’t need a title at all. In fact, I think this should happen right after he loses it. He loses it, and whoever it happens to won’t give him a shot to win it back. Roman completely destroys the champ after his next title defense and Jimmy Rebels, having loss respect already due to the title loss. He absolutely dogs him and his brother and spends the next couple weeks doing the same. He goes on tirades about “getting the family in line” by dragging every single member of the Anoa’i bloodline and Rikishi is brought in to mediate and Roman absolutely murders him. Hospitalizes him. And at that point the Rock comes out, boom. Major feud that definitely doesn’t need a title, and in the meantime both titles are vacated because of the state of the champion and now both titles have their (hopefully reimagined) titles again. I dunno, something along those lines.

  • @funnyboi4132
    @funnyboi4132 Рік тому +3

It’s tough to say if you add the titles to the match, I don’t think triple h would be ok with giving them to the rock so it becomes predictable, but if you don’t put the titles on the line then does the match and story itself lose substance? It does work sometimes when the story is told right remember the undertaker vs Shawn Michaels both of their matches were centered around the story alone, I think rock vs Roman could work depending on the type of story they want to tell, but it’s just that every time you bring the rock into the wwe wether he wins or loses it really doesn’t matter since he’ll be gone the next day, and you can’t really tell a proper story if the rock shows up every 3 months. I’m sure it’ll be an amazing match but it would take a lot careful planning just my opinion.

Roman vs Kross/Drew/KO/Seth or anyone and Usos come in then suddenly Rock's music hits and he comes out and performs Rock bottom on every member of bloodline and Roman watching him shocked and gets pinned in the process. That way he will still look strong, title will be given to full timer and Rock and Roman will have much stronger story line. We all know Rock isn't gonna win if it's gonna be for title.

No, it doesn't need the belt. But let's look at it this way, if the title is in another match then that match is really going to be overshadowed by the rock/reigns match ala Punk vs Jericho in 2012

I'm personally down for a title shot. As many wrestlemania events the rock was involved in, has anyone noticed he's never won a world title at wrestlemania? When he was champion at wrestlemania, he would lose it. So I think it would be a nice finished on saying the rock has done it all if he wins the title on this wrestlemania

Everyone in the comment section needs to stop saying “lets make the match less predictable” It doesn't matter whether the titles are on the line or not, we already know who would win that match. If Roman loses the titles prior to Wrestlemania, then beating Rock at Wrestlemania becomes an absolute must for the sake of his career. We're talking about a 37 year old megastar with so many years left in the tank, against a 51 year old full time actor.
Putting the titles on the line, and maintaining Romans's undefeated run is the right call.

I think it's about putting the biggest match possible on the biggest card of the year.
Here's a suggestion: Have Roman vs. Royal Rumble winner Cody Rhodes main event Card I for the WWE Championship as the Royal Rumble regulations allow for a fight for one title of the winner's choice. He wants the WWE Championship at Mania. Meanwhile, The Rock challenges Roman for the other title, claiming that a true leader, a true head of the table, would fight against anyone as he calls Roman a weak excuse for a champion that would have never had a title run like this in the late 90's and early 2000's. Roman, in his arrogance and anger, accepts the challenge.
On the first night, Roman dominates Cody, while Cody delivers many great counters in many unsuccessful comeback attempts, leading to an extremely close nearfall after hitting a series of Cross Rhodes after countering a second Spear attempt. One Superman Punch ref bump late in the match later, the Bloodline tries to interfere, but Rocky, who has been taunting and distracting Reigns during the entire match after Reigns dared him to interfere and cause a DQ, jumps over the Barricade to clean house and hit a Rock Bottom on Reigns who had just speared a distracted Cody for a 3-count (Cody is able to get his shoulder up by himself at the hypothetical count of 4 or 5 instead of Reigns just stopping the pin attempt, so there is some room for discussion), but the ref was still knocked out. A new ref comes in and bans Rock and the Bloodline from the ring. After closely avoiding a double countout on the canvas, Cody counters yet another spear attempt into the Pedigree, 3 count (so that the crowd feels like Cody earned it and that he actually prepared for the match as he countered not just one, but three Spears). A-Town down, but Rock runs after him for some legendary images and Rock and Cody hit their finishers on Theory and the show ends with Rock raising Cody's arm in the air to huge fireworks and confetti, giving a throwback to Royal Rumble 2015, but this time, he applauds a champ that the people adore as a babyface.
The next night, Roman absolutely destroys The Rock after a test of strength and some roll-up attempts by Rocky, even worse than Lesnar did Cena. Rock can land two Rock Bottoms, one early in the match for a one count, one later in a short comeback attempt for a two count, but cannot get much more offense in. Reigns first takes a page out of Lesnar's playbook and hits some hard German Suplexes and later batters him with Superman Punch after Superman Punch while talking trash and taking all the time in the world for Rocky to stand up again in between, creating tension for a potential upset due to arrogance while establishing pure dominance. Rock won't get another comeback and Reigns spears him, just to raise his shoulders to hit another and another one until the ref stops the match and declares him the winner, thereby acknowledging Roman's dominance (during the match Reigns often shouted at anyone around to acknowledge him as the true champion, even grabbing a mic once during the match). After the match, he still is full of rage and shouts at Theory to come out and cash in because he wants another challenge. Theory doesn't come out, so Roman dismantles the ring and absolutely beats the shit out of his Bloodline crew and Paul Heyman. This ends the show with a shocker. I'd be following audience reactions to this angle whether to make Roman the most evil of heels or an anti-hero babyface.
In the RAW after Mania, Cody opens the show and presents a new WWE Championship belt in retro-style as he did before with the IC Championship belt. He challenges anyone for a Championship match in the main event of the show because he wants to prove to himself and the WWE Universe that he is worthy of that title. AJ Styles comes out and they have a 30 minute banger of a match that Cody barely wins after AJ dismantled Cody's leg. They tease an AJ heel turn and a Theory cash-in with an extended post-match, but it doesn't happen. On SmackDown, Reigns challenges Cody for a WWE Championship match at Backlash so he can reclaim what's his, but he is interrupted with some family business. Back on RAW, Cody talks about the challenge, that it's only his title on the line, but he accepts it to prove everyone that he can beat Roman Reigns one on one with no interference. Because of both wrestler's interests (keep out the Uso brothers and make sure it's one on one), they agree on having a Steel Cage match. They have a gruesome one, a hard battle, that left both broken, so, finally, Austin Theory cashes in his briefcase to make it a Triple Threat, climbs into the ring and just walks out of the door right after to become the new WWE Champion. He successfully defends it against Cody, Gargano and Lashley due to shere luck and interference by his new manager, Paul Heyman. Reigns holds the Universal Title at least until SummerSlam, so he can pass Pedro Morales's 1027 days.
Just some quickly written down thoughts.

Absolutely 100% the title should be on the line as it would be a passing of the torch match with Rock losing.
Unfortunately it's not going to be anything special. The Rock would be coming out of retirement to face Roman as his last match was a squash against Rowan.
If the Rock didn't retire, the PERFECT match would be a Career/Head of the Table v WWE Championship with Roman going over & the Rock officially retiring as a wrestler establishing Roman as the Head of the Table.
Of course the Usos would have to turn face & against Roman with Solo having debuted as a face with Rikishi to confront his brothers & saying that that's not how they were raised eventually turning them against Roman.

Rock, a retired wrestler, should NOT be in the main event match at wrestlmania especially not for the title I don’t give a shit about how many tickets the dude sells he hasn’t been in an actual storyline for literally a decade now. That spot belongs to a full time young wrestler not a guy who they’ve been trying and failing to bring him back for years now and Roman should NOT still be champion come wrestlmania this shit is getting real boring af

IMO, They should do this: They should let the rock return at Survivor Series or royal rumble. And beat up roman reigns. And at elimination chamber Rock vs The Usos will happen just for Little bit more variety. And after months of cutting amazing segment every week Rock vs roman reigns at WrestleMania. I don't know though who should win, Roman reigns has hold the title for too long.
