- Exploring an abandoned Science Centre, we had to move with caution on this one as it was alarmed, we done well up until the end when one of us triggered a pir sensor which set off the alarm

@Winged_Bingus_on_VR Yup I grew up in Irvine - the town this is in - and it is built on the site of Alfred Nobel's old Dynamite factory where my papa used to work when he was younger. it has sat doing nothing since 2003 and is unreachable unless you are to walk down the beach from Stevenston. the bridge that originally connected it is closed off and is only used by the young team to jump off into the river.
Abandoned for 16 years? God! It's in excellent condition. Got a science centre in Toronto and its massive. Wonder how much to get in. Nice and educational Alec. Thank you .

We went just after it opened and was a crazy price to get in, think somewhere in the region of £15 per adult so we just did an about turn.

Thats exactly how it went mate lol, i even headed back in the way and realise i was going the wrong way haha, was quite loud though
Did this in 2017 and there was no alarm none of that fencing.
Exploring with Alec you walked past a sensor coming in through the glass!! 😂😂 it was only a matter of time also there is alarm pressure pads under the carpets ! Just so you know ! We found blueprints in here in 2017 of all the alarm lay out and wiring
If hearing a keypad beeping in distance, just run as fast as possible.
That Very high pitched siren is a Masterblaster. A 172db Motorised Siren that if set off at close distance can cause ear damage. Your lucky you weren't close to it lol
It felt as if my ear drums had blown that thing was loud lol, but glad to have finished the explore before setting it off and it was fun running away from it too lol

Thank you for this comment LOL, I have two of these on my house, and a Carter M2... and I had my Pioneer HDJ 2000's on for this video, they are mind blowingly loud, 2 is just insane!
A better title should be "Scottish Man Spends Entire Time Looking For and Talking About Sensors Rather Than Showing Footage of Closed Science Museum"
127db Klaxon Masterblaster motorised siren! At least I think so. It does sound a bit underpowered and lower pitch for a MasterBlaster so it could be a different motorised siren.

I'd imagine it was the loud sound at 26:08 that caused the alarm because the alarm went off exactly 25 seconds afterwards, which is quite a nice number to be completely random

Sketchy the alarm was already set off you can hear the beeping and like the other guy said the owner has to press a button saying everything’s ok and if the owner does not press the button the. That means that the alarm will sound

Sketchy It was beeping because there were either no power, a low battery, or one of the security devices were inactive

Suggestion for security - don't have any alarm noise in the building, just have one that goes off in your office. Then pop in and catch them cold !

For a building that’s been abandoned for 16 years it’s not in that bad condition. Most abandoned building would be totally trashed and vandalised long before that
I know but it is a fair hike to get to it

Exploring with Alec Our attempt in 2017 was a bit easier then this.. no fencing no security van there. In through a vent hole at the back where the ventilation plant is. In the video they have blocked the hole inside by putting something against it.
Urbandoned You guys still need to attempt it if you ever go back that way. Just remember what I told u from my visit. It’s a looong walk
That constant beeping earlier in the video and at the nearly end of the video and think that beeping from the keypad is basically meaning its armed i think and when you guys made that loud sound in the video probobly the sound detectors finally knew you guys were in the building so it took a moment and then bleeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeepp
Yes we knew the place was alarmed hence why we were moving with caution because of the sensors

@@Ghost_TMS probably a fire alarm panel with a fault, I wouldn’t expect a burglar alarm system to continuously beep like that here
I ventured over here during lockdown as it would have been more quiet than normal. They now have big plywood biards about 10 foot high along the windows so now you cant get in
Walked form Steven stone beach to there back in 2016. Never went in but it was pretty cool to go on top of it and take a look around. We also had a pick mic there
I think I may know how to turn it off. Go to the panel find the keys disconnect the power where the panel is and pull the backup battery. Thats usally how I do it if I dont know the codes to the security system, It looks pretty newly installed the alarm system.
Or you can always dodge the sensors like we did until the end lol
Exploring with Alec It’s just a way of doing it on ademco if you don’t want thescreamers going off.
Jaces Media Group if there was a bell box, it likely to have a backup battery as well and you would need the code as alarm panels nowadays don’t have keyswitches!

As soon as you open the alarm panel it will immediately go off, as there will be a tamper switch
With most alarm systems, even if it is disarmed, you can’t open up the panel or sensors without it going off (you have to enter a special code before the system will let you do that without going off, and in most cases, the building owner does not know what this code is, only the alarm company does)
What route did you take to get into The big idea. Is it Stevenson or Kilwinning. Really want to go inside big idea.

Honestly, the biggest waste of money I've ever seen in Scotland. I remember paying stupid money to get in and what you got was waaaaay overpriced. Think I spent £4 on a rubber, that was in 2002 as well. 18 years later, it looks exactly the same 🙄.
Nice to see the hands-on solar kit I built around 2005 is still on display. :-(

The alarm keypad must be in that room at 14:42 because that’s when you hear it get really loud
I think it’s the fire alarm panel on the wall at 14:40 but it may be the Microtech Galaxy MK3 intruder alarm keypad below it.

The place was alarmed was trying not to stray to far in case we set it off which that happened near the end anyway

Not an exercise of the Law issuing summonse to appear in Court and have a Representitive but via Drug dealers who were told by their captain to GET THEM OFF. Make them appear un dignified ingesting street drugs & alcohol and frequenting various Go Go. The paper trail of what happened is yet to be discovered.
