Watching the pride these people put into their food is heartwarming.
The Bagel guy sees his bagels as family members, being raised...to be eaten, of course.
You mean the workers put into the food, right? These people do nothing but keep all the money that other people do the work to make.
@@calebeyl141lmao you either choose to work as an employee or be a businessman / employer. That's how you get your money. It's just sickening how morally depraved when it comes to working itself that blaming business owners for their own miseries when they themselves can start a business on their will. They have to guts to complain when they got nothing to offer with. Professional victims.
@@calebeyl141 other people who has taken no risk and is being paid for their time? I am pretty sure they are free to risk their own capital to start their own business venture but chosen to take the safe rout of a secure career instead.
@@clowdzurfer Every country in the world was taken by force, many several times. Time to get over it.
It's mad how even fathers want the best for their kids even when they're sitting on something quality like the meat place, Pat's doing exactly what he should be tbh as a boss too getting in and doing whatever. Seeing a person being where they are meant to be doing what they do is amazing.

Props to Madison for recognizing the value and benefit as well as sacrifice of foreign laborers. He’s a wise young businessman.
Lies again? Fly Emirates FNB Money
@@NazriB You seem as coherent as your channel is successful.
yeah it takes a real einstein to realize you can pay foreigners dirt and have them rely on the state for support. big brain move no one else thought of that 😂
The value of being cheaper than American workers because their families back home have cheaper costs of living?
Thanks for the kind words means a lot, our employees are like family to us, without them we are nothing.
NEARLY 2 HOURS OF INCREDIBLE DOCUMENTATION OF FOOD?!? LETS GOOOO
when I listen to these honest entrepreneurs, I can only admire their drive and passion. congratulations to them all. The level of honesty is simply the best.
@@karlwithak. so youre just ignoring all the videos they've posted of people started businesses without any of those or what?
@@karlwithak. Ill make sure to let all those people who in fact are making a net profit to give it all back cause they don't fit your standards:/
@karlwithak.Jeff bezos doesn't exist for this man
@karlwithak. Also average iq for entrepreneurs isn't that high either it's actually a conundrum how low it is
I love how the title is "14 Entrepreneurs Who Built Food Empires" when the actual truth is that for many, it was no single entrepreneur who built them but rather generations of family.
I am not disparaging any of these folks achievements but the truth is it is easier to succeed when born into the right circumstances and those born into farming, business or political families will always have an advantage over the average person.
Very often through hard work as kids being committed and dedicated to the family business but equally as often it is "not what you know but who you know".
how about the people who have screwed up? advantage and all happens in just the initial few years! it goes in both ways! stop whining about the so called circumstances. There are people who have built billion dollar empires starting from being broke and with no one to back them just them and their work ethic!
i think the point was to show the progression from the individual people who started these businesses. Then, as you pointed out, their families have continued their business to become an empire.
Whoa sorry but you are totally wrong here, I do not come from a farming family nor is my family wealthy, I built this company from the ground up with my partner one day at a time grinding 24/7 making many sacrifices along the way.
This is only a select few who have succeeded. There is no guarantee that the subsequent inheritors will succeed. Most close out after one generation as many are not interested in following their parent's footsteps.
@@striker44yep, there's a differences between being rich and being wealthy. Modern people loves to be rich but those who loves their family and lineage will aspire to be wealthy. They love their family so much that they secured the future of their loveones by giving them inheritances for future generation to come. Modern progressive people would never understand the importance of starting your own family business given some never cared about their family to begin with. Such a shame.
Utopia bagels is what it’s all about, you can tell the owner loves what he’s doing so much, I love seeing businesses like this, that’s why they are as busy and successful as they are, you can’t fake that kind of passion.
Nor can you automate it! A.I. hit many businesses as a precursor to today's Artificial Intelligence risk, only it stood for Algorithmic Imbecility.
I want one ... or a dozen.
I wanted to try one until they revealed they use tap water on their recipe. LOL. But I guess if these other companies that I shall not name can sell tap water bottles, why can't Utopia Bagels use it for their recipe. @@anitamiller5913
I'm glad you're wasted your time typing all that stupid stuff out. I run a successful photography business and maybe I have a high IQ but that's just me being arrogant, none of the rest apply to me.
And yes, passion has a lot to do with being successful
When they said they have watch for runaways and that crawfish threw his claws up I cracked up 😂
It was so funny. Dude was like "What's up?!" LOL

Apart from showcasing a lot of creativity, and uniqueness, these entrepreneurs simplify the combination of different food types in a role.
I love seeing people working together to provide so much food for all. Integrity and hard work brings success. Love to see it.
it brings success for the people who inherited their parents or grandparents legacy is what i saw 🤷🏻♀️ do you think any of the labor can afford a home or healthcare?

The father son mozarella duo have crazy hands. I've tried to make some before, that water is _HOT_ !
This is by far one of the best documenteries I've watched. It is so inspiring and I've learnt a lot. Can't wait to grow businesses that transcends time.
Don’t let @karlwithak discourage you. There’ll always be pessimistic and cynical losers like them trying to tear other people down to feel better about their own shortcomings. Your dream of growing a business that transcends time can be achieved my friend🙏🏻
God bless these family businesses!!!!!!
The Big corporations can't compare to their quality of products and their efficiency to run a business!!!
@Hello there, how are you doing this blessed day?
Watching these people prepare their gourmet food is mouthwatering.
Loved this series, very inspiring to see how people can start with little and end up into a massive operation. I love the human element, how sacrificial it is for people to serve a company with integrity, honesty and hard work which leads to happy consumers and a thriving company that can support the livelihood of workers families.
you're blind or you've watched something else than what I'm watching. 90% of it is just sons, grandsons or grand-grand-grand-grandsons being at the right place of capitalism after companies were handed to them. You achieve nothing through hard work, only through workers exploitation, luck, generational wealth and optionally, as most of CEO have it, sociopath traits.
The passion in these entrepreneurs in this episode is amazing 🎉

I love how Mexicans and South Americans process 90% of these items!!! 🤔🤯

I think it's wonderfull what they did for the cab drivers
When I was growing up there was a bakery the next town over. The German woman who ran it made the best pumpernickel bread as well as cheesecake that was nothing like what they crank out today. I think she might have used mascarpone instead of cream cheese. It wasn’t as sweet as cream cheese and it was amazing. She made cherry, blueberry and pineapple. The filling was on the bottom and I don’t think she used graham cracker crust either. Not positive what she used but when daddy brought one home, along with her pecan sticky buns! Wow! The best treat was to grab the end of the pumpernickel bread, slather it with butter and you had a serious treat! YUM and double YUM!!
Maybe ricotta, omg so good.
Just salt n lil butter.
@@teeski693 Definitely ricotta or one of the farm cheeses like cottage cheese. None of the European cheesecakes are overly sweet either.

Every draw is a new surprise with 4ra, they keep getting better each year, more prizes and more points to earn, bigger pools, loving the thrill
Workers get paid 2.50 per pound to peel crawfish tails, and the fastest workers do 40 pounds a day. That's $100 a day before taxes. Leona Williams has been doing it for 50 years.
When I was first stationed near Jax, FL there was a great steakhouse called the Tree Steakhouse in the Arlington area that had been there for 50 years. It was the best steakhouse around. They had fantastic dry aged steaks like in this video. It was a small restaurant. They would bring out the roll of Rye-eye steaks on a card, you would tell the server how thick that you wanted your steak and how seasoned-cooked. The Arlington area of the city started to go down hill in the late 80's and they moved. Only it was not as good and they did not last. I have much respect for people working in the food business. It is hard long work. Shalom
It's also a service business. The service industry is not given the respect it deserves as a major cog in an industrial capitalist society. Every cook, bottle washer, waiter, busboy, bartender, packager, and deliveryman makes life an adventure for all to enjoy. Democratic capitalists in Europe are the same, and many refugees do well. Many family businesses have been bought out or visited with offspring from the elite colleges to seek short-term gain with no capital value assigned to legacy, or brand protection.
Always a pleasure listening to Dr. Paul Mason.
I do have to say THE BEST bagels I've ever had were in New York, Long Island specifically. I remember bringing back a huge paper shopping bag full of them back home and I haven't had a bagel that compares since then.
Wow what a documentary, thanks the documentary team that made all the effort to produce such an informative content.
This hurt my head. I’m assuming bot talk
Except they are straight up ignoring the cause of the inflation this story is about.
i lived in ny from 2010 - 13 and I'm a freq visitor to Halal guys, and love it.. Honestly they are the best, there is other cart in in Jersey city , exchange place - nothing beats their chicken over rice.
the fathers eyes at the end of the mozeralla..... powerful..... God bless them
I used to work as an electrician some years ago, I have to say it was very common for small businesses in older buildings to have two or sometimes more meters. One meter was for the domestics ( 120: volt needs like lighting and receptacles. Most of these businesses also had a second meter for their 3 phase loads, air conditioning and refrigeration equipment. It wasn’t until the 1970s that new buildings began to have their own indoor transformers to provide all their power needs from a single meter.
You have been working so hard to get the fruit you are today ❤🥰😍🌹

The utopia and the Crawfish one were my favourite you can clearly see how much these persons love what they do, and how sweet and good they are with their employees 🎉 wishing them all yhe best and success, they're truly inspiring!
Hell yeah Parish. Good dude.
Also, Halal Guys is 1000% what started my love for spicy food. Accidentally putting WAY too much on my lamb and rice at 2am and the spiral of "oh my god this is delicious but it hurts"
thank you so much for making part 2😪❤❤you saved me hours of hard work love your content and your time❤
Just love to see how the logistics work so smoothly! Impressive how all works together!
As an aspiring food entrepreneur, thank you for this video.
Interesting and inspiring people behind these businesses! Cheers
The last story on Psaltry International, which produces cassava in Nigeria, should have been the lead story. A female entrepreneur empowering her community through innovation and collaboration, increasing wages from $1 per day to $10 per day is an incredible story.
Who asked
Coz it's a female entrepreneur?
I wish I could pay my workers $10 a day
I love the effort that every single one of the entrepreneurs put into their food.
Great vid. Would be greater if there were links in the description to any websites to shop with these companies.
Google till your heart's content. The video description has all of the names and timestamps for the video segments.
Im not even into cheese cake, but Junior's story is so inspiring to see/learn more about this family owned business out of NY. I have to ask, why don't they make their own cream cheese in-house, especially if they're going to open a bigger factory and their current wholesale supplier continues raising their prices?!
it'll probably affect the taste in the end, they'll probably need to do a lot of testing for that to work
He doesn’t seem like a good boss at all. He said they’re experiencing inflation so he expects their workers to make up for it by cutting their hours, expecting more “work ethic” but paying them no different as if they don’t feel inflation also?! Pretty gross
@@kikibunnie I was thinking the same, he constantly talking about loss of profits and raising prices but the guy is a multimillionaire, COVID was terrible for just about everyone. Instead of being grateful his business survived and is still churning away thanks to the hard work of all his employees, all he could do was talk about losing money
Also to make about a cup worth of cream cheese you need like a gallon of milk. -a baker who ran out of cream cheese once and experimented lol
The cassava production inspired me so much, Thanks for sharing these free knowledges
Yep, that is true down by Jay Street. The first restaurant I ever went into in my life. It was a school trip. My teacher took us all and everybody had juniors famous cheesecake. It was the best treat I ever had as a child. It was a memory that I’ll never lose, I think my teacher to this day he made us who we are today conscience people with morality. He told us how to think. Thank you, Mr. Martinez I never forgot that trip I buy cheesecake from there sometimes it is so great.🎉🎉❤

Enlightening video. Hopefully Nigeria gets some help from good and decent sources, soon, to bring in help for that country's cassava industry.
Really great to see the passion in these businesses.
The whole idea of the documentary having a mixture of a variety of narrators is FUN!
cassava (also known as yuca) is so good as a cuban i highly recommend ppl try it its basically like potato but with a more umami taste
Wow, amazing video. The crawfish guy is so passionate, making 500K profit in 1 year but he only paid himself $20K, insane.
I wasnt hungry when I started to watch this video, but now I am.
2:58 owner doesn’t have a clue how to cook a steak. He essentially microwaved it 😂
And you could tell it was over cooked even tho they never showed the result🤣

I deal with Tabasco as a customer, I went out there and did a site visit to see where my trucks were going. Man was it a cool experience, it's also open to tours! All the Tabasco sauce in the world is produce in Avery Island. They have a park you can drive through with an alligator pond, haha super cool, worth a visit! Oh yeah, keep buying Tabasco!

my concern with Utopia Bagel is that they depend too much on Daniel. If something happens to him, whether sick or unable to get to work, it will be very difficult to run the business.

Have you ever noticed how the actual inflation %s people are directly experiencing is 3-5x higher than official government numbers?
That's because Biden literally redefined inflation to make him look less terrible than he is. And a little less than 1/2 the country is r-slured enough to buy that sh*t.

Why don’t they start producing their core ingredients ie cream cheese so not to be vulnerable! Invest in cream cheese research! You have so much capital to not be able to do it. This can be sustainable in the Long run.
In New York? You need a large farm with dairy cows, not research.
@@RoseR-um3jp you don’t need to have your own cows to produce your own cream cheese lol your research will entail your perfect ingredients while outsourcing the raw materials lol

When my late husband and I visited NYC, we had the opportunity to eat at Juniors. I grew up making New York styled cheesecake, but theirs was amazeballs!!!
The cassava plants at the end was amazing. Going from absolutely nothing to saving to build your own factory to making farmers 10x their salary to $10 a day at the same time. Think about how many people failed for these people to succeed.
Are you trying to suggest that these people only succeded because other failed?
That's the typical mentality of a loser, also it's wrong, but keep coping about your lack of vision, intelligence, perseverance or everything really.
@@alexis1156the mental gymnastics just to justify starting a pointless argument!!!
It's insane...
It is a fact that 3 out of 4 buisnesses fail, that's why entrepreneurship is a highly sought after skill, for people to consistently navigate through the hurdles of the business world is fascinating, more than 75% of buisness fail, it is not a myth, not a lie, don't know what fantasy Utopia you live in, but that's a fact, and OP done nothing wrong and is simply notifying others of the grim results that many if fact fail, and it's not a shame, not an embarrassment, many buisness owners want to hire failed buisness owners for many reason, they failed but now they know why and how they failed, they just need a financial push out of debt and you never know, they might spring and rise back with a good thing.
@@alexis1156failure is a part of a process, embrace it and don't be scared of it, learn from it, you're allowed to fail, no one is perfect, the earlier you understand that the better, don't expect to go successful every time you try new thing, you're not god.
@@alexis1156I think he is referring to the dark side of business. Sabotage ahd those type of things in order to win against the competition. At least that's what I think
@@rohankishibe8259 I don't disagree, but the original point made it seem like many had to fail in order for them to succeed. Like their failure had a part in them succeeding. Kinda like how communists talk about how you can only be rich by stealing from the poor, because wealth is "limited", which is obviously total BS if you think about it for more than a second. Because if wealth was fixed then we could have never become richer as a society. Just comparing how caveman lived to how we live now should make it pretty obvious that whealth is not limited, that whealth goes up when we make new inventions.
I don't disagree with your point though, and it is true that you can learn from other people's mistakes.
