    Great video it was very informative!!! I'm in the process of getting me two standard size Yorkie's at the moment!!! I have done an extensive research on this particular breed for the last two months now!!! Due to the fact that they are very prone to having a lot of medical issues, thats the reason why im trying to stay away from the Teacup size Yorkie's!!! They are sooo cute but they do have some challenges towards raising them to stay healthy until they become senior dogs!!! I would say that their early puppy years are probably the most difficult to overcome health wise!!! But correct me if im wrong on that!!! Also as they get older they become more calm and less energetic and easier to deal with according to what i have heard and have researched!!!

      Hi, thank you so much!! That is great news you are looking to become a fellow Yorkie owner! I am so happy to hear you’ve gone the standard route! My last Yorkie (standard size) had no health issues until he was 14/15 years old. Yes, I would say for the teacup ones, the puppy stage can be difficult and the senior stage is usually just as difficult (similar to humans actually lol). I can honestly say the energy level depends on the dog individually. My standard Yorkie did mellow out after the puppy stage, but still had way more energy for many years than Céline has ever had! This dog is either sleep or falling asleep at all times 😂 It could be from the hypoglycemia, but I’d also say she is super chill about almost everything. Same goes for barking!! She only barks at ONE thing! Otherwise, she’s quiet as a mouse whereas my standard barked at everything! Lol I truly wish you good luck in the process and I hope you enjoy your new little ones when you get them! ☺️

    Hi! Thank you so much for watching and sharing your story of sweet Lexi. I am so sorry to hear of her passing from pancreatitis. That is one of the now chronic illnesses that Céline has, so I can only imagine how scary it was at Lexi’s level. It sounds like she was such a doll and had so much spark as Yorkies should lol. I agree with you on the bed/fragile issue. I get so paranoid so I watch her every move and she sleeps in a crib (puppy proofed of course) because I fear she’ll get stuck somewhere in the middle of the night. The bell collars are always so helpful! I am glad you still have your Shi Tzu and I hope he continues to bring you much joy for many years to come. Thank you again for your support and for this sweet comment and story of your dear Lexi.

    Hi and thank you for sharing your video. Celine is beautiful and this made me smile. She reminds me of our Lexi who was only 3lbs 1oz. She was such an amazing dog and we loved her to pieces. Unfortunately for us she passed unexpectedly (severe pancreatitis) at around 5 years old. It has been about a year and a half now; however, we are still in shock and grieving. Eventually we plan to add another teacup Yorkie to our family because Lexi was such an inspiration. She was sweet, yet, mighty, and could run for her toys nonstop. She was faster, quicker and more alert than her brother... a 13lb Shi Tzu. Ten pounds heavier and Lexi put him in his place whenever she felt it was necessary. LOL. And you are right... you can take them anywhere. They are so easy; however, we have to be mindful of their size. Their bones are like toothpicks so you have to be hyper aware. I always let her sleep next to my bed and never in it because I would worry about the bed height. In fact I put a small cat bell on her collar so I could hear where she was at all times as not to step on her accidentally. Although, she was really skilled at watching everyone's feet. Enjoy your Celine... she is adorable. Thank you for your video.

    Thank you so much for your video. My little bundle of joy was smaller than his sister but I really didn’t think that much about him being a tea cup puppy. He is now 16 weeks old and weighs barely two pounds. He got sick after I had him for only about three weeks and I nearly lost him. You shed a great deal of light on several areas of subjects that I’ve had questions about or of which I was totally unaware. His veterinarian told me last week that he will probably not be much bigger than what he is now. I am looking forward to celebrating the holidays but I may not be able to take him out with me because of the extreme cold. I wish you and Celine and your loved ones the best for a Merry Christmas and wonderful Nw Year.

      Hi there! Thank you so much for your support and for watching the video! I am always enlightened to hear from fellow pet owners and especially teacup pup owners. I am so sorry to hear that your little guy is not well, but am also glad he is with you as you are willing to accommodate his ailments. I totally understand that, taking them out in the winter especially this cold weather as of late can be terrible for their health. I have found some things that work to be able to take the tiny ones out in reasonable cold lol. Please reach out if you would like to talk more or would like to see something specific/more in depth. Oh wish you, your family and your little guy a happy, safe holiday season!

    Years back I had a tiny Maltese he was only 2.9lbs at his biggest he was the sweetest but he had PSS or liver shunt which is common in “teacups” or tiny dogs I wasn’t aware of all the health problems most teacups have and while I loved him it was a 24/7 job caring for him having to feed him every 2-3hrs making sure he didn’t jump off furniture constantly having to be aware where he was so we wouldn’t accidentally step on him. We bought a ferret harness for him because that’s the only thing that would fit him and no dog clothes fit him and he had a hard time regulating his body temp so I had to buy cute fuzzy socks and cut holes in it to make shirts and sweaters for him. I literally could never leave him let alone with a sitter so I missed out a lot on a social life. He sadly passed before his 1yr old bday due to his condition. As much as I loved having him and caring for him I’d never purposely sign myself up for that again the smallest I go for dogs now is 5lbs but 7+lbs is definitely better at least for me.

      Thank you for your comment! Oh they are so cute that tiny but yes absolutely so much work! I can say as dogs become more popular, many brands now make extremely tiny clothing and harnesses for style but it also helps keep them warm when they’re that small. I’m so sorry to hear of his passing 💔 But I am glad you got to enjoy him while he was here, he sounds like such a sweetie 🩷

    My friend gave me a Tiny yorkiepom 12 years ago because she barked too much for her. She passed away this last December at 13 of congestive heart failure. It was awful. She drove me crazy over the years but now I miss the craziness.

      Thank you for your comment! ☺️ Aw she sounds like she was a true sweetheart 💕 I am so sorry to hear about her passing, my last yorkie passed of heart issues as well 💔 it’s so interesting how the things we didn’t like while they were here we tend to miss the most once they’re gone? 😂 I am glad you had her for 12 long, happy years! 🩷

    Hi. Great video. I was wondering, do you let Celine wander around the house or does she always stay in her play pen. I just got a small yorkie puppy and it is kind of overwhelming how small and fragile he is. I was hoping that he would wander around like our other regular sized dog eventually.

    • @celineandme
      @celineandme  10 днів тому

      Hi, thanks so much!! And congrats on the new puppy! Céline does get out to play and wander (and is usually out lounging with someone most of the time), however it is always supervised because 1.like you mentioned, size/fragility is a huge factor and she is a bit of a dare devil lol 2.with her extremely sensitive stomach, she cannot eat crumbs, etc or she will get sick (lots of vacuuming/sweeping) and 3.with her hypoglycemia, she cannot do long spurts of activity without a break to prevent her sugar levels from dropping too low. The last 2/3 shouldn’t be much of an issue if you have a normal size puppy that isn’t having any stomach issues. But I would still advise supervised play until he’s a bit bigger/older. I hope this helped! ☺️

    Celine is sooooo cute!! She is what I’m looking for so where did you find her and what determines how big they’ll get? I was looking for a small yorkie that would be roughly 3 pounds full grown. The yorkie I have was supposed to be 4 pounds full grown but she’s 6 months old and is 8 pounds lol! I wouldn’t trade her for the world tho!!

    • @celineandme
      @celineandme  Рік тому

      Thank you so much! ☺️ thanks so much for reaching out, I actually got her from a breeder in PA. However, Céline’s litter was unfortunately her last. There is nothing specific that will determine how big they get outside of genetics. I.e. while having 2 tiny parents are more likely to have a litter of tiny pups, it is not a guarantee. I know someone whose puppy was the same size as Céline when she was a few weeks old and grew to be 10 pounds so it truly just depends. I was expecting Céline to be ~8 pounds and she’s topped out at 3 😂 over anything though when searching, I would always go for any pups that are healthy pups ☺️ I am glad you have your girl I am sure she is wonderful!

      Aw Pebbles is such a cute name! I bet she is adorable! That is always the interesting thing about the ‘teacup’ pups. My last yorkie was listed as teacup and he ended up being standard size while Céline was supposed to be regular size and is teacup so it’s always a gambling game lol. Cheers to being yorkie moms!
