As a previous AKC yorkie breeder, there is no such thing as a Teacup Yorkie. Breeders looking for more money have tried to breed down the size to obtain more money. You are only buying a dog with probable health issues. Buy your puppy from a REPUTABLE BREEDER with AKC ONLY credentials. If someone is advertising Teacup Yorkie, BUYER BEWARE, this is not a good breeder.
@@4Ever_J.and.K my one girl ended up being only 4.5 lbs but the average weight is around 7lbs. Her mom was about 12 lbs and her dad was 4 lbs. That is how a great breeder will do it. Mom should be a good size so the pups are healthy and she can have them without complications or a c section. Dads are always smaller so the pups will be a standard AKC weight. My little one passed away last year but she was 20 yrs old! I’d rather have a healthy dog for 20 years than a tiny dog who I paid $3000 for because someone advertised it as a teacup and end up with serious health issues. I hate seeing the ads for “teacup” it’s such a load of hogwash. If you’re looking, go to your states AKC breeder list. My last girl I got out of Oregon and she’s wonderful, AKC champion line, ended up around 6.5 lbs and she was $1500. @@goodthoughts2252 then I’d find another breeder. It happens just to get more money. Please just do research. Trying to breed down to a tiny size is only putting those pups at a health risk.

I will be very happy with the original Yorki, I don't need any smaller than that. In addition, it is not clear to me which kennel association recognizes them for exhibition, while you can exhibit a Yorkie wherever you want.
My question is, I have a 3 pound female dog Yorky she was in heat when she was seven months old now she is a year old I wonder if will be safe for the next time she’s in heat to made her or wait longer?
I think that you as a breeder shiuld make a decision and be able to motivate it. Not ask randomly other pet owners or yorkie owners for guidance. Please read recommendations and do a health check up for yorkie disaease, check knee cap and more!
I would NEVER breed a 3lb yorkie to any dog. You are putting that dogs life at great risk. If you’re crazy enough to try that, make sure you have a vet on 24 hr standby because there is an extremely high risk she will need a c section and be ready to pay over $1500 for that and stand the chance at losing the puppy because mom won’t be able to nurse it. Do your homework and talk to a vet before you put her life in jeopardy
The narrator of this video forget to mention that yorkshire terriers, (as well as teacup yorkies), can sometimes be seen with areas of grey in the mix or even silver-ish in colour, especially when older, as this can mean they have lost some of the black pigmentation they previously had, if they ever were black, and as we all know, this inevitable fading even happens in people. But of course, that doesn't mean it is impossible to see a puppy of this breed start off grey.
I’ve gone through 32 litters of AKC champion Yorkshire terriers and have never once seen one born any color other than black and brown. If there are any other colors on your pup then there is a mix somewhere in their breeding background. The majority or yorkies will have their hair turn a silver color as they age but that change can happen at different ages depending on the dog. People are obsessed with Teacup Yorkies only because they want a teeny tiny dog to carry around and show off and all that does is pup that dog at a high risk of health issues and early death. The breeders do it for more money! Those breeders aren’t interested in the breed or being able to provide beautiful dogs to potential buyers who appreciate the characteristics of a yorkie….they are interested in charging $3000+ for a dog that will spend a significant amount of time at the vet for health issues that were perfectly avoidable had they gave a single crap about the puppies. Shame on them!
GEEZ...yorkshire terriers and teacup yorkies??? Like somehow they are separate breeds. The only difference is a properly bred Yorkshire Terrier as opposed to an unethical breeder breeding unhealthy runts then call them "teacups."
1 no such thing as teacup it’s just a smaller yorkie 2 they’re not mixed breeds have no idea where he got Pomeranians from. It’s just yorkies that were bred down in size to produce these tiny little puppies and 9/10 they have health issues and don’t live as long as properly bred yorkies
If a breeder is advertising “teacup yorkies” or any other “teacup” breed, report them as the ONLY way to achieve this small size is through early weening and under feeding. Such poor creatures will have a lifetime of health problems and likely an early demise. Yorkshire Terriers are a toy breed - 4 to 8 pounds is the range of size for purebred Yorkies. Surely that’s small enough..:
If people are wanting a teacup Yorkshire terrier and a teacup chihuahua they need to ask themselves why while ever there is a market for them people will keep breeding them people need to be aware of the risk of health problems for the dogs putting the health of the dog first and foremost is what is important
