There's something really quirky and fun about Xenos design choices. I think he has the potential to be another up and coming Icefrog.
Map design is really good, game mode feels great but somewhat flawed. At least he is working hard on it but his ego is kinda big, somewhat refusing to take any kind of criticism and that is not OK.
@@theslayer5978 the ego is definitely the biggest barrier to success, because anything in game design is going to require working with a team of people that are going to have differing opinions.
I'd like to see skywrath mage or dragon knight personally I think they would be super fun

My favourite commander deck is my "group hug" deck with 'Kwain' as my commander, it won't win in a punching contest, but tries to make it hard to hit me (pillow fort of 'propaganda' and 'ghostly prison') then find an alternative win condition ('approach of the second sun', 'laboratory maniac', etc )
It tries to help the table or specific players draw lots of cards which can be good, or bad depending.
There are various strategies and ways to play MTG, maybe you just need to find a colour combo and commander that achieve what you are going for.
Commander definitely relies on a social contract to maximize fun for everyone at the table. That's why I like to win with big combos that take out everyone at once so we can always shuffle up and do another.
you're absolutely right about commander, tho I enjoy the idea of competitive commander because games tend to "end" moreso than "people get knocked out then have to wait", I haven't actually played any magic in person with anyone in years and I know forming a proper competitive commander group is even harder than getting people together to just play "regular" commander
About the commander problem - you can make a rule, that you can only attack a person to the left or right of you it makes it really fun and actualy quite balanced game.

I don’t really play a lot of magic but i have a few commander decks. I think i like decks that knock everyone out together are way more fun than a single target knock out decks.

Casual commander is a blast and I play it with my friend group every so often but I do recognize your issues with it and can agree you are right
I played one game of 1x6 against Muerta and that was with this build. So frustrating. Always untargetable, applying fear and knockback... I couldn't do anything.
Even in the video for Gunslinger I read this Legendary thinking "Excuse me, summons how many more?"

Hey Baumi been watching your videos for a while and I am happy to see that you are getting into MTG which is one of my favorite games. Commander is my favorite format and I love your take on the lose condition. It definitely feels bad to knock out someone super early. I am a dirty combo player so my goal is to just win if I can solve the giant math problem that is my deck. Great work on the video and the new channel.

This is why high power or CEDH is more fun than lower power level commander games. Let's be real here, most high power or CEDH decks don't win by combat or if they do it's either with an infinite or something that's nearly impossible to remove and will kill someone in a swing or two. In either case, there's usually very little downtime between one player getting knocked out and everyone else getting knocked out.
Most games where someone gets knocked out and have to wait another 30-50 minutes for everyone else to finish is in lower power games where it's viable to go wide because going wide with tokens and getting board wiped is exactly how games end up taking a long time.

I was mad about the commander comment, but it wasn't even really aimed at how i like commander.
I only do 1v1's in commander, I like the deck format. That's it. I forgot it was 3 player.

4 seconds of invulnerability while you damage, root and silence the enemy constantly. This is a horrible build to play against, Muerta seems like a permaban for me.
I do believe commander is a stinky formar, but if you find a good group of people to play with, then it can be quite enjoyable. But kudos to you for trying it out and making friends :D
Bkb has been too good for too long. I’m happy with where it is atm. I would v much like to see more support items that dispel to deal with the cc.

You're view of what the Commander format is is extremely narrow and totally incorrect. Commander is NOT a fixed 4-man free for all, at all. Commander is just a deck structure, and nothing else. 100 cards, each of them unique except for basic lands, and one of which is your commander which limits the colors you can use and goes to the Command Zone from where it can be played and to where it returns after leaving play.
It sounds like your gripe with "Commander" isn't a actually with Commander as a format, but with Free For All as a game mode in MTG- which is a far more understandable opinion to have, and one which alot of people share. Most people prefer to 1v1, or to play with teams (such as two headed giant, more traditional 2v2, etc.). Free For Alls have a habit of feeling like ass for everyone except the guy who wins.
