Having no money causes a wide and extensive variety of stressors, this is true, but both as an extension of those stresses and as a an actual barrier, the lack of money causes a lack of opportunities. You cannot afford to go do fun things, cannot afford to go anywhere, both because it's too expensive and because it would mean leaving behind too many things you need to so. In many ways, you can become too poor to afford happiness. Can you be happy and poor? Of course. But is much harder? I think so.
Yeah, I think for me and most people, money isn't an obsession, becoming rich isn't necessarily the goal. But having enough money to feel safe, to know that you can afford the next rent payment and other bills is definitely what I strive for. Having fancy cars or a yacht I am not very interested in

To have enough that I don't have to think twice about gas to hang out with friends or to hope that whatever my cat has isn't too bad because I can't take them to the vet without worrying if I can afford bills this month, let alone the fact that I live in America and have to constantly worry if I ever get sick enough for the hospital or an ambulance ride.

Also! Lots of ways to fix that light issue (I have the same exact problem. Cannot sleep with any amount of light).
You could put a thick curtain/drape up on the window or doorway (or both), or alternatively if you can get used to it a simple blindfold of some kind also works (I use two blankets, one for my main body and the other to just wrap around my head to block out light).
the more variables there are for a chance to occure, the easier it is to stop it from happening.
just put a carpet/blanket/any obstruction on that window. most efficient would be a lightblocking solution on the window where the light enters.

Another idea for the bedroom light problem is you can install a curtain on your door that you can close it before sleep.
A little open space at the bottom of it will help to cats don't pull it away by passing it.
How avoid some simple curtains Baumi? Some that you hang in the doorframe, so you can have them open during the day and closed at night. The cats can come in and go out, but the light can't and it's probably the prettiest solution too 😊
PS: You can even save the door too, out it in the cellar, so you can put it back in when needed

I have a tension curtain rod at the bottom of the stairs with a slide curtain. It keeps the light out and stops the heat rising when i dont go up there
for a cheap MTG format you might like pauper (only commons) if it is played in your area.
You could try using one of those eyemasks? They've probably been invented for this reason!

Money doesn't buy happiness, it just decreases unhappiness. It also allows for streamlining and doing more of what you want to do and less of what you have to do.

you can get the sensation of "being wealthy is kinda cool i guess, being poor _fucking sucks"_ experience from a lot of resources in video games, including dota. like, not so much with _gold_ in dota, funnily enough, because it takes an _extreme_ level of wealth before gold actually starts tapering off, but mana? consider just how valuable that +3 mana regen common is in 1x6. struggling with mana _sucks,_ so much so that getting 180 extra mana a minute is a significant increase in qol. a second can also be p. damn valuable. but for most builds, a third is just kinda nice at best and kinda a bummer if it's the best pick you get. and anything more is _technically_ an improvement, yeah, but are you really gonna notice it on anything but the most mana thirsty builds?
