Nothing like walking up to a big buck. We don’t get em that big in body but we do In rack size. Nice buck. Got to give him credit he hunts hard everyday like yourself.
Funny, because that also the definition of flying....hours upon hours of seemingly endless boredom, interrupted by moments of stark terror. I fly and I hunt... :-)
Congrats to your Dad on a great big eight point buck ! Your very lucky to have been able to be right there and share the moment with him . Special times !
Took until Thanksgiving to get snow here in Northern MI, crazy warm and mild weather for almost all our rifle season 11/15 - 11/30. Snow for 28, 29 and 30. Was extremely slow for all of deer season including bow season all of October
Great buck Mark, congratulations. Paul, excellent job editing! And thanks for posting this tonight. Perfect video to watch after a thankful day with family and good food. Can’t wait to see the video of your buck. All the best.
Nice job, congratulations!! Really appreciate your channel. Am 71 & been hunting with my son almost 30yrs. Brought him to maine his first time when he was only 8 to tag along. The rest is history. So i can really relate. Keep up the good work.
Great Buck for pop!! Thanks for the wonderful video guys!! Enjoy these special times together afield...when you look back these are the moments you'll treasure.
Your dad has been having a banner year, plenty of meat in the freezer now!!!!! We just got back from our annual deer camp. After watching you boys out in Maine we started weighing our bucks a few years ago. It’s quite interesting, an average 3 year old buck will be around 150#. One of my sons got a five plus year old buck this year that went 180 pounds. That’s the biggest one we have taken since we started weighing them. There could be a two hundred pounder lurking out here in MT but we haven’t found him yet.
He's had a great year! My freezer has been the "overflow" freezer...I'm not complaining😁! Hope you guys had fantastic trip! That's cool you guys are weighing your deer. In Maine, weight has traditionally been the "trophy benchmark"...that coveted 200+lb buck. Most certainly because Maine deer tend not to have huge racks. It's pretty common for a big heavy 250+ lb buck to have an unimpressionable rack. Northern Maine is known for big bodied deer. I suppose the Bergmann's rule holds true- colder climates produce bigger bodies. There is even a noticeable difference between deer shot in southern Maine vs Northern Maine.
Congrats on the big buck!! Im in pa, our opener is tomorrow, we have our precious snow...i will sit for a few hours, but am really trying to learn the lost skill of tracking thanks to The Benoits, Hal Blood and now your videos!!
Luv hunting in the rain. Not a wind blown sideways rain but a steady rain or light rain I luv!!!! Seems during the rut the bucks move a ton during the rain. Killin day as it hides a lot of noise and allows you to get close without being noticed.
Congrats to you both , nice buck 👍 Paul you should mount that deer , great wall hanger with a good story and best part is you guys were together, great memory !!!
@MaineOutdoorEnthusiast would love to try and maine hunt. Should try the Adirondacks lots of fun. Keep us in mind if you need any scents or urine products for next year ❤️
The Adirondacks would be a cool trip! I am sure I would love the remoteness of it! We will keep you in mind! Just checked out your website...very nice! Merry Christmas!
Great job! He looked a little short to go 200, but I'm glad he made it! A lot of people don't realize what it takes to harvest a deer like that! Your dad should mount it for sure especially with the battle scars!
Maine is always hard to hunt. Big woods and low deer densities. I’ve been hunting there since 1988, usually for 3 days. Our success rate is pretty low but we always have a great time at the camp.
That's for sure. I've had some really fun hunts in the big woods too, but it's definitely a different type of hunting! However, we always have a good time. That's a given!
That is a brute! Have they always been typically that heavy? It seems to me that the average overall size of a white tailed deer here in pa. Has diminished slightly since I started hunting in the early 1980’s . We still harvest a brute now and again though.
Nope. I was waiting for the music comments 😁. Music elicits emotion...hence your comment😉. You heard everything I wanted you to hear. Nothing less...nothing more
I’m so sorry to be that guy, I really am. But realistically, dont you guys think there is already enough you tube deer hunting content without the kill shot on video? I love your stuff, I really do and I mean no disrespect. But for myself, I’d rather watch box blind videos from Texas with kill shots than recovery videos from Maine. I just dont get why people are interested. Congrats on your buck! I dont mean to sound disrespectful. 😪😪
He put in the work and time and don’t forget the money. Happy for him!
He's had a great season! Thanks for watching!
Nothing like walking up to a big buck. We don’t get em that big in body but we do In rack size. Nice buck. Got to give him credit he hunts hard everyday like yourself.
Hunting. Hours of nothing interrupted by seconds of excitement.
That's one way to put it! However, there is always something...even in silence. Nature is full of wonderful experiences all day long😁
Funny, because that also the definition of flying....hours upon hours of seemingly endless boredom, interrupted by moments of stark terror. I fly and I hunt... :-)
Congrats to your Dad on a great big eight point buck ! Your very lucky to have been able to be right there and share the moment with him . Special times !
Thanks! We have some great times together out in the woods!

It was a mild November here. However, things cooled off fast come December!
@@MaineOutdoorEnthusiast Oh yeah we got about 8" on the ground now, day after Thanksgiving - you probably got it Saturday 11/30 or 12/1
We got snow Thursday evening into Friday morning. Only about 4 inches, but enough!
@@MaineOutdoorEnthusiast perfect
Are you ready for tomorrow, the second rifle season.... I mean muzzleloader

Thanks! Good times!
Congratulations on a nice buck. The highs and lows of deer hunting on full display.Hard to beat that feeling.
Thanks! It's definitely a roller coaster of emotions!
Congratulations on the huge buck! Love your clothes and rifles too! If I win the lottery I'll have a cabin built like yours.
😂. Glad you enjoyed it. The cabin is more sweat equity than cash money😉. Dream big!
You guys need those big brim hats to keep the rain off.
Great Buck for pop!! Thanks for the wonderful video guys!! Enjoy these special times together afield...when you look back these are the moments you'll treasure.
Thanks! You're right!
Congratulations on a great looking buck. Mark you did well.

I'm not going to say 200+lbs bucks are everywhere up here, but we definitley have enough that some guys can harvest one over 200 about every year.
congrats .
Thanks! Happy Thanksgiving!
Nice buck. He’s a hog. Pops showed how it’s done. Congrats on a great hunt.
Thanks!
Congratulations
Thanks!
Nice buck Mark...did you get it officially weighed for the big buck club? Congratulations!
Thanks! He did, but didn't bother with sending in.
What a hog! Congrats pops!
Thanks!
Great Thanksgiving story. Big neck for sure, 5 years old? Do they take a tooth at the tag station?
Thanks! I believe they have a tooth..we'll see!
@@MaineOutdoorEnthusiast they take a few month to compile the list and put it out, spring maybe.
Great deer, only if you can get some snow..
Thanks! Snow definitely makes things more magical😁!
Estimated live weight is 258
Congrats. Hopefully the next video will be without music

I appreciate your opinion. However, If all someone is looking for is the final shot...they might be missing the bigger picture.
@ In my humble opinion, The Benoit videos are the standard by which all others should aspire.
Sorry, I don't copy others
Love the content. Keep it up and don't change anything!
Dont be sorry, Paul ... No need , ever. @MaineOutdoorEnthusiast
