I've seen some comments about the ship not waiting if you are late coming back from an excursion. That is partially true...I do know that if you book your excursion through Carnival there is a guarantee that the ship will remain in port until all guests are back onboard. If you independently book an excursion then that's when the ship will leave if you are late.

Just found your Channel the other day Sal and I’ve enjoyed the few videos I’ve seen thus far. Thanks for the tips in this video. Just booked a cruise for next January. I took copious notes to prepare for the cruise. Never too early to start getting prepared. Thanks and looking forward to more of your productions.
My pet peeve (no parrot joke here) is the food buffet. Take what you want, Want what you take. It's irritating seeing people fill up their plate and walk away from it.
There are so many negative comments against Carnival. Your vacation is what YOU make it. So, if you didn't have a good experience on a Carnival cruise, then maybe it was you and not the cruise line. With the exception of the first Carnival cruise ship I sailed on all my cruises with Carnival have been good. And even the first cruise was good; it was the ship itself that wasn't the greatest. Well, turns out it was retired like 6 months after that cruise. It was one of their older ships; it was dated. Otherwise, I always have enjoyable time.
Elizabeth Smith I could not agree more Elizabeth. Vacations are what you make out of it regardless of where you go. Land-based or see-based, every vacation can have its issues. You just have to make the best of it and remember you’re on vacation.
Don't pay extra for all the pictures, you can simply take a picture of the picture if your able but dont get caught doing it. They frown upon it big time.
I did this showing my husband back in the room before I purchased them to get his opinion and they literally forced me to buy them because of copyright
SalPitera, I would add one more thing. If you book ahead, call every now and then and talk to you cruise representative. You can get a reduced price if they lower similar bookings for any reason, but you have to ask for it.
Pack bigger clothes because you will gain weight. I also take a carry bag with a bathing suit, toiletries, a set of clothes in case there’s a delay with the suitcase. Usually delivered by 8 pm but you never know.
1) The stairs should not be confused with a lounge area. I cannot tell you how many times I have walked down the stairs to another deck only to find a large group sitting on both sides of the stairs and completely blocking the way down. When you ask them to move they act like the victims. 2)The elevators are not a teen hangout. Once again I cannot tell you how many times the doors opened and there are a dozen teens sitting on the floor having a pow wow while going up and down for an hour straight. 3) Wash your hands a lot and try not to touch the door handles. This was mentioned but I cannot stress it enough. There are thousands of people in close quarters and some of them will be sick. The Carnival Sunshine is the worst. I have been on that ship 3 times and come off that ship sick 3 times. 4) I will also repeat the muster drill again. I have been on 20 cruises and there is always the one moron couple who tries to hide. Nobody is allowed to move until EVERYONE shows up. Being stuck on the outside of a cruise ship in the sun(especially in Florida) is not fun. If you show up on time then it will end quickly and you can go on your way.
Everything you mention is consistent with a specific race of people that are notorious for hanging out in front of corner stores while sitting on milk crates while not paying child support and drinking grape flavored drinks with codeine in it
I thought your video was one of the best ive seen. Very much to the point and no BS. I plan on taking drinks to the room and hanging out on the balcony. Good enough for me.
I agree with all of these except the packing tip. Instead, I would recommend doing homework online for weather conditions where you are sailing, etc. Although I do have to brag and say that as a female, I am able to pack everything needed for a seven-day cruise in one rolling carry-on suitcase; I think I have it down to a science now. LOL It never fails to astonish me when I watch a couple (that's TWO people, mind you) turn over three suitcases to a porter before checking in at the cruise terminal. I wonder to myself, WTF do you have in there...a third person?!!??
My family has a group “Just Us” and Friends and we have done many cruises where we left the day of the cruise and we always made it on the ship early. Way before debarkation time. And my family has been cruising for over 30+ years.
Thanks for posting your comment. It’s very much appreciated. Please subscribe if you haven’t already to receive notifications when we upload new videos. :)
I do not believe your TV check balances anymore on any of the ships. But that is because you can mail check it on your smart phone. Using the Fun Hub App
I don't understand why your stateroom is not per-assigned and you can bring all your bags aboard and go straight to your room, then go up to the deck to watch the ship depart. For a 3-5 day cruise, you need only one bag (airline check bag size) to carry everything. Why does Carnival Cruises make things so unnecessarily complicated? This is not a jetliner where space is limited.
I actually don’t understand what you mean LOL first of all it is a ship so space is actually limited. Also Carnival scans all bags just like an airline so that people don’t bring on guns knives or anything else that could hurt other people. And most people that go on a cruise longer than four days want to bring the full-size suitcase. That way they can change for dinner, for the beach, for daytime where, etc.
I've had a group get mad at us and annoyed us until we moved at the club because we sat in their spot. Even though there was no one there. There was a lady literally flashing her phone light at us until my sis got annoyed. And they were like "yes it worked" when we moved. My sister told them the only reason we are moving is because we didn't want my cousin fighting them and they stayed quiet lol
About to partake on my 12th excursion (this will be my 6th time with Carnival), and I really enjoyed listening to your tips. Though, the combination of semi-loud music, subtle (but noticeable) fluctuations of microphone volume, and that awesome parrot made me turn up/down my volume and rewind a couple times. Overall though, I still found your tips extremely helpful!
+Ty Wotipka Thank you TY. I do appreciate the feedback and yes, I learned a lesson about volume. I was also used a new brand new microphone and did not have the settings correctly. In most of my videos now I do not tag music for just that reason. Thank you for posting!
Blue Phoenix the waiters that serve people in the dinning room and the houskeepers that clean guests cabins depend on guests gratuities. If a guest decides to pull gratuities that basically means that the people who clean someone's cabin for a week and served them food in the dinning worked for free. Sure, tips at the end of the cruise are greatly appreciated if a guest leaves them but gratuities are what makes their salary. The company may advertise as an American company with the office based out of Miami but they are registered in Panama so they pay their staff according to Panama wage standards. It should not be allowed for the guests to pull their gratuities but it happens very often on Carnival cruises and especially when you have a whole seating of 20 + people who come as a group and they all pull. It is aggrivating and disrespectful towards the hard working servers who do everything to make their guests happy.
Leo Tomasic that sounds just terrible! I hope they find s way to guarantee decent wages!!! Stay strong folks!!! Sounds like the cruise industry is greedy!!!
Blue Phoenix I feel sorry for all those who get stuck working there for years and years, mostly because they have a goal towards 10 years because then the company gives them a certain amount of money as a loyalty reward let's say and that's when a lot of them retire but for some it's all they know. And a possibitly towards dependency on alcohol or drugs is bery big too. I mean you work for 7 days for up to 6 or 8 months, with long hours, and then each cruise you get one day off but on that day you have to work early in the morning for breakfast and then come back to work for dinner time. How can that be counted as a "day off?" And if it happens that due to weather condition the ship cannot dock, well your "day off" gets cancelled and you don't get it back. I remember a maitre D by the name of Ian D'Souza treating restaurant staff like trash. Each day before the opening of the restaurant his statement was "You are just a number, if you do not like it here, go home." What kind of work motivation is that exactly?" There have been some respectful managers but that abusive bastard is one of the worst ones.
@@UA-camDestinations I don't know about the hundreds thing but there are a few more...(I.e. ask the ship when are gratuities added onto each card & how much are on each. That way you don't over-spend)
I wasnt supposed to bring or smoke weed on the cruise... but, I did. And I wasnt the only one. It was like a family reunion when I found out other stoners brung their own weed. We had a blast
You mention the seat hogs, that's probably the one thing that annoys me people do that selfish crap all the time. I had got fed up with it and moved a person's stuff. Two hrs later they came back and were pissed that they lost their seat. Tried to get me to moved I laughed and said read the sign. They walked off. Smfh people!
I got alcohol poisoning my second to last night onboard my cruise. PROTIP- Stay away from the “funship” cocktails because they will sneak up on you QUICK lol. Spent all night and all morning throwing up and sick. (I recommend the drink package if you can drink a lot- but for the love of GOD know your limit. Carnival dream September 2018❤️

Carnival cruise, couldn't get off the boat in grand cayman, because it was too windy and they made all ships anchor off south shore, but only the largest ships could stay. We got another fun day at sea. First and last cruise.
Usually go HA although they are owned by carnival, not sure about a mega ship though, did like what I saw on your blog about the Havana cabins, thinking about trying carnival
I am confused about an earlier statement. You said if you purchase an excursion from ship & something happens & you are late returning to ship “they will wait” now you say they will leave,🤔which is it?
If you book the excursion through the cruise line they will usually wait if you are late due to the excursion. If they can't wait, then they cover the transportation to the next port. If you book an excursion elsewhere, the ship won't wait if you are late. They warn you multiple times. They repeat the time the ship will leave many times. We like to get back to the ship in plenty of time to relax and have a leisurely time getting ready for dinner.
SalPitera Studios that is very strange. And might I say that I enjoy your videos. They are extremely helpful. I'm debating on taking a cruise soon but am not sure how to sign up for the excursions. Do you have a video on that?
I got to 4 drinks left on my limit, and I was drunk but still presentable and coherent. Then one night I only had about five or six drinks and got alcohol poisoning. (Strong drinks and shots of tequila will do that to you.)
@@UA-camDestinations Maybe it's me, but 15 drinks in one day is not that excessive. I've been "cut off" more times than I can count when using these 15-a-day things. And I found out that no, you can't "bank" drinks - on Princess last month I went over and instead of being cut off, I was served (and charged) for drinks. BTW we're headed out on the new Carnival Horizon (their newest ship) in a few weeks. Really looking forward to it. We LOVE Carnival - this will be our 18th cruise with them. Great videos, keep them coming!
Should mention that you don't need to pay for WiFi to use the app. You're allowed to use their WiFi for free in airplane mode. It was $5 per person to use the chat. Worth it of you have children onboard or a large party.
That is a little misleading. The App, and WIFI (which usually means internet) are two different things. yes, you can use the Carnival App for free, but that gives you no internet access, only ship maps, onboard events, etc. (and yes, text messaging between on-board family members for $5.00 per member). Internet access (for anything but Carnival.com) is additional, even through the app.
ONE QUESTION ABOUT RESERVING OR NOT RESERVING A CHAIR IF YOU LEAVE YOUR TOWEL ON THE CHAIR AND GO INTO THE POOL OR WATER RIDE AND IT TAKES LONGER THEN YOU ALLOW, HOW IS ANYONE GOING TO KNOW THAT YOU ARE TRYING TO FOLLOW THE RULES BUT ITS TAKINB LONGER THEN EXPECTED?
+N Jay 'Jaybo' Holtz You can leave your chair for 30 minutes. If you leave your chair more than that they may pick up your things and bring it to the towel station. 30 minutes is usually plenty of time to go on the waterslide or other attractions. Unfortunately they have to do this because some people take their towels out at 4 o’clock in the morning and leave them there all day, even when they have no intention of using them.
Simple solution, throw rude people overboard. Not only make the cruise more pleasant, but also for those that that have to be around those people where they live.
Very important not to drink too much. You can get removed from the cruise if u physically touch a crew member or assault another guest. Usually happens when to much alcohol is involved. Seen 2 guests taken away to the drunk tank"ship jail", then never say them after.
My only tip is

I got my luggage in my room before I even got to my room. Granted we did have the category 12 penthouse suite
My pet peeve (no parrot joke here) is the food buffet. Take what you want, Want what you take. It's irritating seeing people fill up their plate and walk away from it.
You can check your account on your TV in your room as well.
I was going to say this too. You beat me to it.
you can download free carnival hub app on boat. can access your account on iit.
You just have to make the best of it and remember you’re on vacation.
your trapped on the boat with 3500 other people.....
I don't even pay them no mind. I'm going in October and WILL have a great time!
@@ras124 and? Don't go then 🤦
i already went
Great Video. Thank you for posting. This was informative and helpful.
Don't pay extra for all the pictures, you can simply take a picture of the picture if your able but dont get caught doing it. They frown upon it big time.
I did this showing my husband back in the room before I purchased them to get his opinion and they literally forced me to buy them because of copyright
@@Brandeeyes Well, yeah. It's considered stealing.
Hahahaha
You might as well be nice to the other passengers considering you’re all in the same place for up to 14 days
SalPitera, I would add one more thing. If you book ahead, call every now and then and talk to you cruise representative. You can get a reduced price if they lower similar bookings for any reason, but you have to ask for it.
Depends on the rate code you booked under. But for many fares you are 100% correct.
How do I find my Cruise Rep?
What if you booked through a travel agent?
What if you booked yourself online?
Your eccy looks so happy in the background! Love seeing a fellow parrot lover and cruise lover!
Yesssssss : Don't forget to track your balance
I recommend not to link your cruise card to your bank card because you can go crazy and not even notice
I find it amazing you need to tell people some if this stuff
Hi Brian!! Please come watch my channel. I talk about different itineraries around the world with different Cruise Lines. Super fun 😊Thank you!! 🤗
You forgot to add to download the carnival hub app
Very True. Always download the Carnival App, before you leave for the ship!
I just downloaded it... Can't wait!
Can you tell me more about the HUBB app? Do you have to purchase a WiFi plan to use it?
Stephanie Hardesty you do not. It works with the ship WiFi. No added cost
All great advice. In fact, I'm going to use some of them in a new video, if that's ok with you?
Of course
Everything you mention is consistent with a specific race of people that are notorious for hanging out in front of corner stores while sitting on milk crates while not paying child support and drinking grape flavored drinks with codeine in it
All the points you brought up make alot of sense and what's your parrots name it's cute!
J Mitchum his name is Moscato.
Great video THANK YOU SOOO MUCH FOR THAT "BE NICE TO EACH OTHER" YESSS😊😁😊😁😊😁😊😊
Hi Denita!! Please come watch my channel. I talk about different itineraries around the world with different Cruise Lines. Super fun 😊Thank you!! 🤗
It gets cold at night 😒
I always pack to much. I like to though.
Thank you for the tips.. Great info. About chair hog's ... I would have no problem tossing their shit
Thanks for some of the key points of what not to do. 👍😊
You can also check your balance on your tv on carnival horizon
I do not believe your TV check balances anymore on any of the ships. But that is because you can mail check it on your smart phone. Using the Fun Hub App
Very informative but the loud music is distracting
The parrot was so cute on the back round
Thanks his name is Moscato. He’s an Eclectic Parrot.
I don't understand why your stateroom is not per-assigned and you can bring all your bags
aboard and go straight to your room, then go up to the deck to watch the ship depart.
On some ports they have self assist for boarding we do at Baltimore so we do not need to wait for our luggage ask when booking.
Love the parrot!
Great information. Thanks for sharing.
Bro I didn’t see the parrot until half way through the video and it scared the heck out of me 😂 great vid as well 👍
Ronan Cameron ha ha thanks.
Lol
Been on 2 Carnival Cruises planning a third one
I love your parrot in the background, I love all the birds. I have two parakeets in my home right now.
Dolphin Blue thanks. His name is Moscato.
Things you don’t think are important. Good pointers
Love Carnival cruises
Tim Mullen me too! Believe we will meet on a future cruise. Make sure you stop and say hello! Please subscribe if you have not already.
SalPitera Studios this will be number 4
Very cool. I have over 100 Carnival Cruise Lines under my belt. Looking forward to seeing You onboard. If you see me make sure to stop and say hello.
the buffets on the horizon I thought were not good.
Yeah been on five of them. Not a single problem on any. Wonderful memories.
Thanks for the tips...love the bird 😁
Thank you!
How about don't pull your gratuities so people who serve your food and clean your cabin get paid for their work and don't do free labor?
Could not agree more!
Free labor??? So these folks work for tips only? I’m sure that’s not legal, right?
As an experience cruiser, there are a few more do's & don't(s) on cruises...
Well of course, hundreds and hundreds of them. But can’t put them all on one video.
@@UA-camDestinations I don't know about the hundreds thing but there are a few more...(I.e. ask the ship when are gratuities added onto each card & how much are on each. That way you don't over-spend)
Ive taken 13 Carnival cruises and just found your site. Great tips.
Democrats Only Thank you! Hope to see you on a future cruise.
This is a great video along with your other one from last year. We are going on our first cruise with our kids and needed to know the do's and don'ts
I’m glad you enjoyed it! There have been lots of videos in between the two. Please take a look and make sure you subscribe :-)
I wasnt supposed to bring or smoke weed on the cruise... but, I did. And I wasnt the only one. It was like a family reunion when I found out other stoners brung their own weed. We had a blast
It's kinda like being at Walt Disney World or Six Flags, only on a boat.
Thank you for the advice, I just went on my first carnival cruise vacation three day weekend.
You are very welcome! How was your cruise? What ship did you go on?
I got alcohol poisoning my second to last night onboard my cruise. PROTIP- Stay away from the “funship” cocktails because they will sneak up on you QUICK lol. Spent all night and all morning throwing up and sick. (I recommend the drink package if you can drink a lot- but for the love of GOD know your limit. Carnival dream September 2018❤️
haha, I bet you learned your lesson :P have an amazing time on the Dream!
This is probably great except for the music being louder than the voice
I think you should be nice to everyone no matter where you are and how they are being. Sometimes it hard but you just have to breathe.

I see 5 things in the background you can’t bring on a cruise lol
Since this video Carnival has made some changes, one being the room service menu. I was told the free menu is limited: 6 am until 10 pm.
My flight is 5 days before the ship leaves I think I am goid
Good plan, extend your vacation! TY for posting.
Love the video! Can you turn down the music for us deaf guys we cant hear you clearly!
Hi Brandon!! Please come watch my channel. I talk about different itineraries around the world with different Cruise Lines. Super fun 😊Thank you!! 🤗
Carnival cruise, couldn't get off the boat in grand cayman, because it was too windy and they made all ships anchor off south shore, but only the largest ships could stay. We got another fun day at sea. First and last cruise.
I’m so bored I’m watching this at 3 am
I don’t understand why that bird is not on his shoulder. My parrots were always on my shoulder when I was in the room

Turn the music up. It’s not loud enough.
John Marcovecchio super mario bros effing music
John Marcovecchio agree like twice as loud
Yes it needs more cowbell
Hard to pay attention with music louder than u
Usually go HA although they are owned by carnival, not sure about a mega ship though, did like what I saw on your blog about the Havana cabins, thinking about trying carnival
Definitely don't skip the safety drill!

My father did the cheers program and surpassed it's 15 drink limit and was still fine. I don't know how he did it 😂😂
Yeah, that is very odd. Their computer should have cut him off at 15. After 15 you’re not even allowed to pay for drinks.
Go on one as it turns out
ONE QUESTION ABOUT RESERVING OR NOT RESERVING A CHAIR IF YOU LEAVE YOUR TOWEL ON THE CHAIR AND GO INTO THE POOL OR WATER RIDE AND IT TAKES LONGER THEN YOU ALLOW, HOW IS ANYONE GOING TO KNOW THAT YOU ARE TRYING TO FOLLOW THE RULES BUT ITS TAKINB LONGER THEN EXPECTED?
+N Jay 'Jaybo' Holtz You can leave your chair for 30 minutes. If you leave your chair more than that they may pick up your things and bring it to the towel station. 30 minutes is usually plenty of time to go on the waterslide or other attractions. Unfortunately they have to do this because some people take their towels out at 4 o’clock in the morning and leave them there all day, even when they have no intention of using them.
Simple solution, throw rude people overboard.
Not only make the cruise more pleasant, but also for those that that have to be around those people where they live.
"You are not the only person on the cruise ship". I hate it when they hold the chairs and Carnival does not enforce the rules.
Always fly to the port the day or two before. Don't be a pier runner
I went on a cruise ..pool.was to cold ..I was the only moron in it ..hot ttub was luke warm..I'd never go again ..but my girlfriend insists on going
Yes, the jacuzzis lag. Apparently if its too hot people get sick! Arg! Its a hottub! 1 laimer ruins it for everyone.
Very important not to drink too much. You can get removed from the cruise if u physically touch a crew member or assault another guest. Usually happens when to much alcohol is involved. Seen 2 guests taken away to the drunk tank"ship jail", then never say them after.
+TITUS TITUS I totally agree with you. Most incidents that happened on a cruise ship, that get people kicked off, involve drugs or alcohol somewhere.
im sorry , im confused about the 'card'
How many cruises has 'Moscato' been on?'Moscato' looks Brazilian...is he?
thanks.
