Purchased: August 2022 - still works GREAT! ua-cam.com/users/postUgkxxsUnXhGsSJLim_XnMHyQK0u3XVaW-CGn I live in a studio and during the summer it gets scorching hot - really old building with no ac units. I can’t express how EASY it was to install. This unit has been a life savior during the summer and some days during other seasons where it can still be a bit warm at night. In this small place is my friend, a husky, poodle mix and myself. We need AC - lolI don’t use the dehumidifier option - I’m not sure if it will leak in my house, since I did not install the small draining hose that came with it. May look into it late but I don’t worry about much humidity in the apartment.I don’t understand why the negative reviews since all things mentioned, I personally did not find issues with. Definitely worth it!

  • @josephrhodes2896

Most important to know is if it has a parasitic power draw or not when stored. There were people reviewing saying that the unit lost 1% battery charge every 1.5 hours. So in a few weeks the battery is dead. Can you test to see if this is true with the new firmware? There have been conflicting stories on its self draw. Some saying it loses capacity very fast. But others saying turned off and nothing plugged in, it retained its 100% charge over a few days. A long term storage test would be awesome. Using this for emergency use is my plan but if it doesn’t keep a decent charge after being stored for months, then it’s not worth it.

Can you please confirm what the fan operation is doing when you leave the River 600 plugged in to wall current continuously in basic UPS mode please ? In other words, After the River 600 is fully charged on wall current, does the unit's fan blower run continuously, or does it eventually shut off once the built in inverter is cooled down ?

The "X-Boost" would most likely work with brush type "universal" motors, like on a "non-variable speed" plug in electric drill, angle grinder or saw, giving lower rpm if original rating was over 600 Watts, just as the fan on your heat gun continued to work. On your 450 watt air-conditioner, if you started it on "fan" then switched to A/C, would you get 100% success rate?

Thanks for the review. I've ordered this for home power outage usage. The 720Wh should extend my freezer's life for 24ish hours, and I can imagine during an extended outage going to a coffee shop for an hour to use the quick charge to recharge this battery. A 4-5 hour charge wouldn't be practical for this purpose.

Be very careful ordering from ecoflow. I made a purchase from ecoflow for what the ad said was a " delta max 2000 with 220w solar panel". The unit arrived without the solar panel. After contacting them they told me I had not ordered the solar panel. Wait...what? It said in the ad " deltamax 2000 with 220w solar panel black friday" and the picture even had the two items together. My email copy of my receipt even says deltamax 2000 with 220w solar panel. They sent me an email stating the solar panel would be an additional $1000.
I've asked for a return label and they are not answering that request. Be very very careful if you choose to conduct business.

The xboost is a marketing gimmick..its a 600 watt powerstation and you should only run devices whos wattage is 600 watts and under AND as yo said you only will get about 576 watt hour out of it. If you use this device for the its real wattage it works perfectly and buy this for the FAST CHARGE feature. Others take up to 4 hours and more to recharge but Ecoflow takes about an hour. This means you can take it into a cafe, gym or library and charge it up while you are there!

It will power a 300W load. The question is going to be what amount of current it requires during startup. If it's less than 600W, prefect! Something that I don’t often see you comment on or mention is the support for manufacturers. I was looking at the EcoFlow products when they first hit the market. I saw a lot of complaints on horrible customer support, obscenely late/missed delivery time (often around the 6 month range across all products) and unsupported warranty repairs. Of course no company can continue with this kind of feedback and hope to stay in business; and perhaps they have gotten much better. But these kinds of issues are relevant to consumers on product like this. The throttling of the voltage could be seriously detrimental to appliances like refrigerators and such I would think. Especially with prolonged usage.

Would be great to meashure the AC surge at start cause the amazon website said 1200 W surge so it should work I guess unless you measure a higher wattage in the first second starting the compressor.
This is important for any outdoor and RV use where you might need to power a fridge nowadays cause pure electric fridges are a lot cheaper than the typical 3 way operateable RV fridges (gas + 12V + 110V / 230 V)
Those devices make only sense if you exactly know what devices should be powered with for how long today, tomorrow and in the future cause otherwise you will run out of power in the wort moment.
Battery size is not the most important piece as long you can add additional batteries. But inverter is important and for sure solar input cause 2 modules on a RV with up to 380 V is nothing special just 200$ and same for your barn where you might wanna connect those 2 modules with this unit to power through the night ...
A bit more of everything would be great ... and funny to see a NON BLUETTI poweroak thing this time cause I hate those whille they did not deliver as promised, a lot less Ah and other specs that were wrong in the display for example a 12W LED lightbulb. The bluetti had shown 0 W consumption but the bulb was fully on. Added a water heater rated 750 W and the bluetti should run 1000 W permanent but guess what happened with heater on?
the bulb went crazy and started to flicker ...
Luckily an amazon purchase and the whole heavy device went back with a strong complain how Amazon could offer such unreliable device ...
I would really recommand to measure all the specs cause the manufacturers try to fool us and use your very strong reputation as major sales argument ... cause you open the doors for them to us , manufacturers and products we usually would never have thought about.
I can not judge it, but I am so annoyed how many youtubers had "sold" the bluetti poweroask to their viewers while those devices had issues from delivery on. I am lucky, I got my money back but was disappointed and told all reviewers not to become a sales agent .
    Thx for showing it ...

Wondered if the river pro can be charged with 2 100w 12v solar panels? If so which wiring route? Parallel or series? I know you mentioned parallel.
I saw on the specs the solar input can only be 12amp max input. Two 100w 12v solar panels would be around 16amps. And if in series the volts would be 24volts from the two panels. Would like to clarify which would work to use both panels?

Hopefully known of these companies want you to use their product without the app so they can track everything and how you use the device. How it's not even about selling you the power. It's about the data that they can sell from you using the app. The more you can recommend this product the more people will buy it and the more data and information they can sell to advertisers which in turns makes them more money.

Thanks for the review. Have you tested the efficiency of the unit? I have a River Pro + extra battery (1440wh total), I tried it with a 8w LED bulb ran for 12 hours (8w X 12 hrs = 96wh), however the unit shows 83% energy left (245wh consumed). I am wondering if anyone else is getting the same poor efficiency?

    • @greatguy4076
      @greatguy4076 2 роки тому +2

Assuming you were connecting to the AC outlets, what you are seeing is not poor efficiency, but overhead. All inverters require power for the circuit itself; you'll see this in the idle current. The River Pro draws about 10w idle. So adding 120 watts to the calculated 96 watts of your light, that's 216 watts, which is about what you see. All inverters reach peak efficiency when the load is around 30%. Most inverters are above 95% efficiency between ~12% and 70% of rated capacity. I have 2 River Pros and the extra battery, I like them. But for very small loads that need to run a long time, I use DC.

    Another question please
I connected both of the batteries with the inverter to the 110-120 volt plug to a small refrigerator (set at 37F degrees) that when on (it cycles on and off) it uses about 45 watts.
I used a kilowatt device to measure the wattage over a 24 hour period. It said I used .27 kilowatts or 270 watts over a 24 hour period.
The 2 batteries were at 86% when I started and after the 24 hour period it was reading 47%, so that is 39% of the two batteries.
So if both units are 700 watts that's 1400 watts minus about 15% for actual usable watts that leaves 1190 watts I used about 464 watts or 39% of the 1190 watts (86% to 47%). Or I'm I ducting the 15% which is accounting for the inverter already?
But the 24 hour watt measurement was .27 kilowatts or 270 watts. So where did the other 194 watts go (464 watts minus 270 watts)?
Can that be all because of the inverter? That seems alot.
It means if plugged into the wall it would have used only 270 watts but plugged into the 2 ecoflows it needed 42% more energy the 464 watts?
I must be close using the 2 batteries actual power about 1190 watts and I used 39% of that.
    Lastly,
I have now connected the batteries that are now at 47% to the 12 volt output on this same small 12 volt refrigerator.
I would imagine that the 12 volt during the same period would use much less wattage since their is no inverter that is working, correct?
And how much less do you think it might be?

    • @savmanhk
      @savmanhk 2 роки тому

I did a 24 hour test with the 12 volt it used 26% of the two batteries or 309.4 wats in 24 hours.
So in using the same .27 or 270 watts with the AC (kilowatt) the inverter used 39% or 464 watts (a loss of 42% verses the same 24 hours the 12 volt it used 309.4 watts or 26 % , or a loss of only 13%.
It proves that the 12 volt (if given a choice) is the only way to go.

I bought one of these and was a bit disappointed in it's 12V output capabilities. It will not operate my 120W 12V popout slide. It drops the voltage to a point the motor stops. I have 2 other smaller power supplies that work the slide without fail. I tried everything and it just trips the motor breaker. Great for 110V but again, at high wattage draw, it drops voltage to accommodate which can be harmful, especially to sensitive equipment.
