Wish it justified it, but it doesn’t, then you sell it because you’re over it, start over and say you’ll leave it stock, then say just wheels and lower it, then it starts again with just an intake....life of a “car enthusiast”. Haha. Life is short though. I have a fully built and all suspension and bushings Hawkeye and want to sell it, but I know I’ll regret it when I do. Been there done it several times now.

i wouldnt call that a girlfriend, i would call it a goldigger, and if ur that dumb to be togheter with a goldigger..up to you... :) I have gf and save money, if i wouldnt have a girlfriend i would have higher costs. She and me split things like furnitures, rent, car costs like insurance, gas, repairs, car itself.. If i would be single then i would have to pay full price for that on my own. So nope, you actually save money having a girlfriend.

As soon as I got out of college and got a job I saved 10,000 for a downpayment. Bought a gently used 2016 from an older guy and now I'll be paying off the remaining 26,000 over the next 5 years. Worth it though. I'm in love, Lapis blue is a beautiful color. Just picked up some Ekei RFP1s for the summer season 18×10 with 265 Michelin pilot sport 2's.

Ever since i was a kid i loved cars and started saving at a very young age because i knew i was going to want one. When i was 15 i was really into jdm and i really wanted a subie. I started working at a restaurant which i ended up working at for 3 years. Here is where i started saving up every little penny i made. When i was 17, i really wanted a sti. Ive saved about $23,000 at this point and was looking really hard to find a decently low mileage, good condition STI. I looked for awhile but didnt really find any that i wanted, but i found a really good deal on a 2001 evo 7. I paid $18,000 for this evo with 78,000miles and was in great condition. It was amazing because i had money left to mod it. I am now 20 and still own the car, it has106k miles, but i now also have a 17 sti, which i ended up buying last year. Love both these cars so much.

I’m currently 17 but I started working a sever job at the age of 15. I remember I was always wanting a Subaru because I watched your videos, Subie Troops, and Alexander Vargas. I definitely thought saving my money up was way better than spending it on shoes. It took me two years to work minimum wage and save up most of the money for a 03 Bugeye. My parents did pay the the rest I couldn’t but it’s definitely worth the purchase. I do have issues with it here and there but it’s a learning process and I do feel everyone goes through them with their builds.

Bought my GTO when I was 17 years old after working as a minimum wage grocery store bagger, took out monthly payments and got it paid off in a year and a half. Also bought my dream bike, a 2008 Honda CBR1000RR. Now in my 20's bought my 2008 STi, currently working in the postal service. Instead of going to party's I always offered to work overtime and done whatever to make money, feel like I missed out alittle on my highschool years but I'd rather have my cars lmao.

I got my sti for 6k not running, It was like a month after I had sold my 02 golf GTI which was a gift from my dad after graduating highschool. Saved up for that month and was about to pull the trigger on a 12' gti but same day I was going to pick up the car, my dad told me one of his coworkers was selling the sti for cheap. Took a risk because the body was nice and all it needed was a clutch and switch the fuel lines around that they had connected wrongly. Turned on the first try and have been super happy with the car ever since. I work at autozone where I get minimum wage but saving up for the few parts I want is worth the effort. Always watch these video and they inspire me to build up mine

IT professional and just hit 40. My story? I drove Impreza Hatchback for the past 11 years and 1 Tiguan. I have 2 kids and financially established. Did it right, saved money and lived below my means and like Eddie said - be careful with money like too much eating out, coffee shops, alcohol, etc. Now I am a home owner with 1 rental property on the way (someone pays my 2nd mortgage woohoo), no debts except for my Mortgage and I just ordered a new 2021 STI arriving next month. I 100% agree that unless you're well established, save the big mods for after the car is paid off. You never know what curveballs life can throw you and the last thing you want is a situation where you're forced to sell the car. Be smart, be patient, set financial goals. Obviously my high salary helps but I still watch my money and plan my grocery shopping around items on sale weekly!

I bought my '04 STi new in October of 2003. I am/was a nuclear engineer. It was a daily driver for my other car that was a fairly heavily modified FD RX-7. I still have the STi and it has been lightly modded as time went on. I just did the 200K mile timing belt change. I have since sold the RX-7 and the STi is splitting driving duty with my 2017 Raptor.

In 2010 paid 18k for my 04 STi too. Kept mine pretty mild just intake , turbo back and a lot of suspension mods for getting some of the understeer out but it took me 10 years to get all this together as I had other Rally car projects for local SCCA rally x . It was fun to see the transformation over that much time . Your car is and has been one of the cleanest looking under the hood and out.

I bought a GC8 WRX at 18 years old, worked as apprentice mechanic then did some factory work where I was getting around $30-40 an hour, I’ve owned so many cars and motorcycles since then but at this point in time I want a 2004 WRX, most my friends own top player cars like Skylines and turboed IS200’s but I’ve always had Subaru in my blood and the only cars I know like the back of my hand are Subaru’s, the motors IMO are easy to work on but that’s just maybe me cause I had so much experience with them

Both 03 subie bug eyes white sedan and the latest a wagon. Paid cash for each but I'll have to save up more if I ever want an sti. Difficult just a little but attainable if I find the right deal. You forgot to mention your living situation. Were you living with your parents rent free? were you renting an apartment by yourself? did you have a room mate to help the apartment cost. Some of these questions should be answered, one because living with your parents rent fee can really speed up the time you can pay your car off if most if not all your paycheck can go into the the car's monthly payment.
Great info though keep it up.

My best friend has a 700hp evo 10 and I love that car but somehow the blob eye 2004 sti is just something my heart desires. I will one day buy one and I don’t wanna do a shit ton of mods to it. It’s def gonna be like a weekend driverish car that I drive 1 or 2 times a week. I’ve been in a couple 800hp sti’s and they’re soooo crazy and i wouldn’t put over 650 just because I already know they’re gonna blow. I’m prob gonna do a new exhaust , turbo set up w/ cooling mods, wheels/tires, and some early 2000’s graffics that aren’t too too wild(just some stripes or shit)

I got a loan for half my GM6 (paid off in 4 months), fully financed my 17' BRZ (still paying off) and just recently bought a GD STI as a donor to my GM6, paid it cash. Also financed a 14 Yamaha R6 that's been paid off for years now. I work as a mechanic. BRZ is the daily, GM6 is the toy, sadly GD is a donor and R6 is a paper weight that I'll ride one day again.

I have a 2011 WRX STI sedan. I afforded my STI by milking cows at a dairy farm. I did this job on the sidelines while going to school as well. My dad and grandparents gifted me 4k for the car and by using the money I earned from my job, as well as using a little bit from my savings, I bought my dream car. found a guy selling one in my country 2 years ago just for 5k €. really cheap, but the thing was a wreck. blown front tires (gold rims are OK thank god), destryoed front bumper and a lot of overall other damage (not the mention the car wouldnt even start, and if it did, it would shut down after), the guy apparently tried to rally it and look how it ended up. and i took the risk and bought it. the repairs i did at home totalled to approx 1300€, feels like new, not the mention the another 1000€ put into aftermarket upgrades.
