I bought a 18 ft sheet metal pool from a friend, she had bought it from someone else previous, there was some rust on the bottom, I sprayed flex seal on that; replaced some of the metal tracking because it was so rusted; we've had up since 2018 and it is still fantastic and is beautiful. There's no telling how old is pool really is. And it's holding up just dandy.
We have the Intex UltraXTR 549 cm standing since 2020. It is going away for one reason: the liner is now almost white due to the chlorine used for winter. When the sun shines the light is so white it hurts the eyes. Other than that: barely any rust, never a leak. It survived a 15 cm ice cover in winter (you need to use floating things that can expand and pushed in to prevent the wall from breaking though). So the next pool in all likelihood will be the exact same brand. In note with Bestway the size of the tubing is only 32 mm vs Intex 38 mm. That means filtering heating etc is probably better with the Intex. We use a warmpump to heat it up.
Just do not combine the salt generator with a pool with the metals frames-- they WILL RUST. I took ads like these for their words and my pool only lasted 1 year before I had to get rid out of it. The salt generator is great for the all plastic inflatable one, but not the metal frame ones. (Warning)
@@chriskeo392 Some people are very sensitive to high amounts of chlorine and chemicals. Salt water pools are considerably less harsh and a bit less maintenance.
@@chriskeo392stays clearer long and less maintenance than a chlorine pool...but has to be coated for salt water use...Walmart pools won't last against salt
Thanks for this video. I am wanting to replace my Intex pool in the near future. Our pool is 16 years old and still going strong. Intex makes a fine , durable product.
Do you have a round or rectangular pool? We have the rectangular Intex they mention as #1 but we’re thinking it only lasts 5 years. We do take it down every fall and store it in a temperature controlled storage unit. Wondering if ours will last longer than we are thinking
A large pool is a big enough purchase that planning ahead seems reasonable, I'd highly recommend buying one in September previous to the summer you want it up. Stock/choices will be limited, but sometimes they'll be on sale as much as half price at the end of summer.
The INTEX 26363EH Ultra XTR pool is sturdy and impressive. Leveling is essential, so use stronger supports than pavers. Consider getting a better ladder. Overall, it's a great purchase!
This is a great video, thanks for uploading. I have bought a pool each year, from Intexs paddling pools and worked up to the larger pools and I have to say Intex are my favourite. As we live in Ireland and the weather is pretty awful most of the year around, this summer the weather has been quite bad so I cannot fathom a supplier not providing a simple pool cover as part of the purchase price, they can make such a huge difference, they also help to heat the pool up. I have never had a problem with Intex. Upgrading the filter syst is always a good choice, makes life easier and cleaner.
And yeah, you could get your above ground pool set up in an hour but not filled up and ready to play in an hour because that is 20,000 gallons that you gotta fill up with your hose or a transfer pump
I havd a salt filter and this rust resistant i can bet wouldn't last in 2 years my pool was s**t the one with chlorine lasted 5 did replace 4 posts tho. We need one for salt water and yea i understand the science behind it but its better on my skin and hair
Thank you for posting this video. I think we are going with the 18' x 9' Intex pool. I feel more assured after seeing where the pool ended up in your rating system.
Has anyone experienced the sand filter case splitting at the bottom? We fitted it in July 2024, it now has a 1 inch split on the bottom curve and no, we haven’t dropped it at any stage. Anyone have any idea how we can repair it ? We lost at least a lot of water.
OKAY BUT WHY DO I THINK I SAW ONE OF MY CLASSMATES IN ONE OF THE CLIPS? HELP?? Okay, but,in all seriousness, thanks for making this! Me and my family are planning to get a pool this summer and we’ll probably get one of these!
Make sure it’s not sloped and sweep under it. Then we bought a huge heavy tarp (Harbor Freight sooo much cheaper than anywhere else) to put under ours, which I definitely recommend. .
I have the Intex Ultra XTR (24 x 12 x 52) & my family love it. I do wish that they would include a Skimmer with it & also place the inlet & outlets in different sides to allow for greater water rotation.
If I get the rectangle, will swim with a few fish in mine.. So, the ecosystem needs a real filter, not just a pool filter.. Need plants to eat wastes, too. No need to make myself ill. My Fahaka Puffers will love days out in the solar heated pool. And nights indoors.
😂that's kinda his goal i noticed. To get you to spend more money on higher costing pools😂. As if they don't make enough money with our weekly maintenance supply list.🤣💰💰💰

Coleman is very similar to the Bestway pool and summer waves pool. Surprised it’s not on here. It’s runs about $400
I have never seen Coleman in Europe. The guy is clearly a Brit, so may be that is the reason.
Average cost included will be nice.❤
The INTEX 26363EH Ultra XTR Deluxe pool is big and looks good. The pool seems durable and overall awesome.
What’s about rubber softener and microplastic in these PVC pools?
I want a 1 person pool, but if you're going for a pool this size, what's stopping you from sticking these pools in a big hole?
What type of outlet does the pump require?
Very informative video. Thank you
If the INTEX pools are anything like there air beds, you have a winner here

Can I put these above ground pools on a concrete surface? I assume I would have to put something underneath the pool to reduce the heated concrete.

My best way steel pro max 15’ x 48 came with a ladder pump everything
I have the 6th one i got it yesterday!😮
Do these ones need to be fenced around?
Probably a good idea. I'd hate to find a toddler floating in my pool.
The leveling will make or break your pool set up experience.
The biggest pool ❤❤❤
Pool price?
Question the space is level but has grass on it, is grass okay to put the pool on?
Yes
Yeah, and they're all gonna rust from salt water.Unless you do the mods that I show on my channel
Do they come with heaters?
No.
Haaaaa. Are you kidding???
Do any of these have a tyvek liner?
Wow.
Nice.

Regardless as to how carful you are with a metal frame pool, it's guaranteed to rust. From my experience.
no price?
Their having the time of their lives.

I just bought a new Bestway Power Steel 16'x10'x42" for $349.99 at a local chain of stores. Anyone have any experience with Bestway's pools?
