- Welcome to the 30 day watercolor flower guide 2024! It has been a few years since the first guide, and I thought it needed a major upgrade.
In this video I show you how to paint bird of paradise with watercolor step by step in real time

Thank you Kristin for these 30 days of complete joy. I love your loose, easy style and your great teaching techniques.
Thank you so much!
Wow! What a journey! Thank for taking me a long ànd for the lessons! Looking forward to rewatching and practicing!! ❤
You are so welcome!
Thank you so much for dissecting this flower and I had it done so quick ❤ I love my new flower reference. I created an album and put cardstock in backgrounds and they have labels for their names such a great month I’m thrilled and looked forward painting these. 😊
Great job! That is such a great idea
💖🌟✨ absolutely loved this series Kristin!💖I can't wait to rewatch and practice! Thank you so much for sharing 🌟
You're so welcome!
Whooaaaaa - I painted this. Shocked by how straighforward your instructions are for getting this on to the page.
Earlier today…
What a way to end this delightful course! An other worldly flower to me, on the coast of Canada, yet grows everywhere in other places, like Ecuador. I feel so fortunate to get to try my hand at this. It falls into the “must practice” category. Thank you so, so much for sharing your teaching.
I’m so happy to hear this! Thank you so much
I have been loving this series. If you do another 30 days I would love to see: hydrangeas, magnolia, bleeding hearts, zinnias, cosmos, allium, azaleas, crocuses, gladiolus or lupins to name a few.
I got behind but I have really enjoyed the course so far. Thank you so much!
You are so welcome!
-- Congratulations on 72,000 subscribers! And thank you so much for this flower series. I hope to see more videos from you soon. 😊❤️
Thank you so much!
What a great series! I really enjoyed it, thank you:)
Glad you enjoyed it!
I was late to this party, but maybe it was the right timing for me. I learned so much from you through this process! Especially valuable to me: answers to "where do I start"? and "where do I end?" Over the course of painting these 30 flowers, those answers led me to sometimes taking off and doing a completely different "middle". Same flower, but different 'posies' (oops - I mean poses :) although I would also refer back to your tutorial (always one click away on my screen) if/when I felt stuck. My next mission: I am going to paint your other series of 30 flowers, too. I know a few of them are duplicates but the extra practice will always be of benefit to me. Maybe - just maybe - when I have finished that series, too, I will feel ready to leap off into Bouquet-Land! Thank you for your open, generous, and concise teaching, Kristin. Without your assistance, I might never have felt confident enough to tackle my fear of painting flowers.
You are lovely! I'm so glad the series was helpful to you and you learned so much. That is so encouraging for me to hear and I appreciate your comments
@@kristinvanleuvenAnd PS: I can't wait to try your landscape tutorial, too! When I painted mostly with Acrylics and Water-Miscible Oils, landscapes were my 'thing'. With watercolours I have only done "partial" landscapes - i.e., isolated elements like palm trees or regular trees against interesting skies, etc., but I haven't tried to do a complete landscape painting yet. I am so thrilled that I found your Channel because you have elevated my Watercolour journey beyond my expectations. (I also love your baby! ~lol~)
