- Aikya is a special concert curated by First Edition Arts featuring a unique first ever collaboration between TM Krishna and the amazing Nadhaswara vidwans Sheik Mahaboob Subhani and Smt. Kaleeshabi Mahaboob. The husband and wife team were awarded the Padma Shri on Republic Day 2020.
In this video they perform a stunning and epic masterpiece ragamalika featuring the following ragams: Bahudari, Shanmukhapriya, Dwijavanti, Saveri, Khamboji, Varali, Sahana and Sri. This is followed by a Thyagaraja kriti "Endaro Mahanubhavulu in Ragam Sri.
They were supported by Akkarai Subhalakshmi on violin, Praveen Sparsh on mridangam and BS Purushotham on kanjira.

Kudos to T M Krishna for giving the pride of place to the majestic nadaswaram. Hope we get more such shows from other artists too.
Anantheeswaran Iyer we at First Edition Arts are doing a big 3-day festival called CUSP in Luz House, Mylapore, Chennai. On Day 1 we are having the mridangam player Praveen Sparsh performing with his troupe, A Carnatic Quartet. Included in this line up are violin, nadhaswaram and tavil. If you live in Chennai, please come and encourage these young musicians. The festival is on January 31, February 1 and 2.
Kaleeshabi's music is electrifying! That introduction to Dvijavanthi had TMK excited like a kid in a candy store :) And that Sahana...Ufff...A real treat, thanks again @First Edition Arts Channel :)

Just pure magic. One of the very best collaborations I have been privileged to watch and listen to. Smt. Kalishabi and Subbalakshmi’s Sahana is a divine treat. TMK and Sri Mehboob lead the way and hand the baton over to these magical set of artistes. Sri Raga and “endaro mahanubhavu”, a fitting tribute to all of these wonderful performers

Yes I second that thought. Great technical team. Only thing that I wish is if a wireless mic was fit at the end on Nadaswaram itself it would have been an excellent music throughout. With static mic at the stage, the musical sound goes up and down due to the spatial mic. 👌

Exactly! I am a student of North Indian classical music, but to my uncultured ears too, that dwijawanthi was the highlight of the whole concert. Each time she stopped on Rishabh, woah chills!

What a great collab and a lovely Ragamalika. As always, fantastic audio quality from First Edition Arts. You are doing incredible work in bringing such talent together on stage and producing such high quality audio/video of the same.
Initiative of great significance to revive the rasikatva of Nagasvara and maestros of Nagasvara of the present to receive the patronage, they richly deserve. I had requested Sri TMK for initiative of Veena concert with vocal accompaniment with aim and objective remaining the same. Great/Maestros of Veena and their Vidwath going unrecognised, honored and missing the patronage of all the stakeholders of Karnataka Samgita. Please accept my appeal to FEA for yet another Aikya special concert of Veena-Vocal with percussion support.
Venna and nadhaswaram two eyes of carnatic music. We need to keep these alive and encourage them to thrive. Otherwise we will lose our identity.
