- Aikya is a special concert curated by First Edition Arts featuring a unique first ever collaboration between TM Krishna and the amazing Nadhaswara vidwans Sheik Mahaboob Subhani and Smt. Kaleeshabi Mahaboob. The husband and wife team were recently awarded the Padma Shri on Republic Day 2020.
Their first piece of this stunning concert was a Mallari in Ragam Gambhira Nattai.
They were supported by Akkarai Subhalakshmi on violin, Praveen Sparsh on mridangam and BS Purushotham on kanjira.
An added bonus to the video is a sneak peek at their rehearsals prior to the concert.
Ooh, brilliant!! What an amazing performance. The rehearsal session at start was so enjoyable. Request you to please throw in more titbits like that in the upcoming videos.

The two percussionists swaying together towards 4:00 minute during the practice session is a pleasure to watch and understand the vibe also. I am sure it is not intended.
I like how towards the end, TM Krishna starts putting Adi talam instead of kanda jathi triputa, which is what the composition is in. That's why the final theermanam by praveen didn't land on his samam as it was not meant for adi talam. Proves he is still human :)

TMK actually lost the track of talam but the mridangist quickly realised this and extended the ardhi to fit in with the actual talam. Thats some ridiculously sharp stage presence right there.😱😱

Superb performance. I don’t understand why the People are against Sri TMK , joining with two Muslim artists and performing a concert . Sri Sheik Chinna Moulana used to perform every year during the Marghazhi Festival, in the festival . He had played the Mallari standing in front of The the procession of Sri Sthanumalaya for half an hour . We all accept the new dress code of our children , accept so many changes according to their choice , including marriage. When our people are prepared to accept so many changes in our own life , why we are not accepting the changes that Sri TMK introduces ? The proof is his practice session, in the beginning of this Video.
Please stop pontificating. No one complained about these actions of TMK. Of course, he has eccentricities which may have elicited reaction from others. But not in this case.

Consider and practice the essence of these words instead of what’s in your ‘spirituality’ playlist. 30 some years old is not too late to learn freedom from emotional vulnerabilities. It is important, take Chanakya, Shantideva, and Patanjali’s words for it if not mine. As the great American saying goes:

Novel attempt in Kambeera nattai with nadhaswaram in the mallari format is excellent. Congrats to the entire team. Felt as if we were present in the temple during car festival.

It was good but given that Mallari is a composition made for the Nadaswaram, it could have been good if for few avarthanams, the Nadaswaram artists played by themselves without TMK.

Superb why no Tavil?
Thavil was there it will highlight all other instruments other than Nadaswaram, Hence they have not included i guess. A decent Thavil like Valayapatti should have been accompanied.

The music is divine, but the major contribution is by first edition arts team because of their wonderful efforts.. Thank you first edition arts.. The editing, camera men hard work, total team work is perfect.. Actually the hard work of the team adds melody to the music.... There's also a request.. Please upload classical music by other singers like abhishek raghuram, trichur brothers, ranjani gayatri.. Etc.. Please.. :)
