Great tips! I need to let them Sink in! (Sorry🙄) I’ll give the Loon Sink Fast a try. It’s probably better than the butter I’ve been using. Thanks as always Brian and MRO! 👍👍🎣

These pads work great. I just wish they lasted longer but they are my go to tool for cleaning lines.

Just recently found this channel and absolutely love it,the videos are almost endless aswell as super informative. How long will fly line last and can I strip the line off and just clean it or would you suggest new line altogether.

What about using magic eraser sheets for the abrasive cleaning. I tried the and it seemed to work really good but wondered after if it might have been too abrasive. Thoughts??

Heck, I've used aggressive scotchbrite on my fly lines. Just follow it up with the SA cleaning pads that kinda polish it back up and apply the dry fly dressing, and it'll work. It's definitely not something you want to do as regular maintenance, but if you've tried everything else and your line keeps sinking, you're going to have to get a new line anyway to mine as well try everything.

I tried it before buying the above item. Worked to a point. Then it stopped. The Pads went on to really clean the lines. Alot.

Should I be worried about using the SA line cleaning system on modern high-end fly lines. I have heard that you should not use abrasives on modern fly lines. I have also heard that adding lubricants, magic goo, etc to lines just attracts more dirt and shortens the life of your line. Suggested by these folks is using a detergent like Dawn or Ivory dish soap in warm water to soak the line, then a clean rag to dry the line. What say you and everyone else?

The streamermax short in this video is a modern high-end fly line. So I would say your good to use abrasives on modern lines. You make a valid point about the dressings possibly attracting more dirt. That may be why Brian recommends cleaning your line so often.
