Accent Tag: West of Ireland and Irish accent guide

First off, just a bit of fun. Of course Louth people are delightful optimistic people and not everyone from Dublin wants to rob me,just my mates.
I did this under the influence of boredom, Irish coffees and a heavy cold so the accent impressions aren't spot on but hopefully it gives an American person who might perhaps assume we talk like concussed asthmatics owing to the movie portrayal an idea of the variance in how people talk in Ireland and why perhaps we're a bit difficult to understand at first.

I love this video. I'm auditioning for a play with Western Irish accents, so I searched UA-cam for examples so I could try to ape it at my audition. This video is hilarious, I don't care if it's not a spot-on Western accent, it's what they're getting from me now, because I'm going to watch this about a hundred more times.

I find my 3 daughters have acquired a You Tube accent! I try to train them to talk like Irish people (because they are Irish people) but genericism has taken control of their vocal chords. It's like when I was a child and me Mála colours got mixed up together and made a big boring brown blob. I'm disgusted entirely :(
