- London Calling was a very special skateboarding event held in August of 2023. Its purpose was to honor and celebrate the unsung heroes of British skateboarding in the 1970's, those who were there and lived it.

Thursday 17 August
'70s Exhibition OPENING NIGHT 6-9pm Pure Evil Gallery, Shoreditch After party 'til 2am) DJ Alex Turnbull
Friday 18 August
'70s Exhibition 10am-6pm '70s Skate Forum 11.30am-3pm
UCL Gower St. WC1E 6BT
Appearances by Jeremy Henderson, John Sablosky, Ben Liddell, Kadir Guirey, Alex Turnbull, Mark Baker, Simon Napper, James Cassimus, Tony Alva and more.
Tony Alva meet and greet.
Live appearance and signing at Vans store Neal Steet, 5.30pm
to 7.30pm.
Evening meet-up, Crown & Anchor (411) pub, Neal Street, Covent Garden. Saturday 19 August
Exhibition open 10am-6pm. skate session at Bay 66 Mini ramp and bowl 10am-2pm. South Bank 10th anniversary reunion from 2pm onwards. DEVO LIVE, The Farewell Tour. Eventim Apollo 7pm.
Sunday 20 August Exhibition open 11am-6pm and until
Sunday 10 Sept 6pm / skate session Crystal Palace skatepark,
All day Park, Slalom and Freestyle.

It really look like a celebration of heros from three generations I guess.
The skate jam at cristal palace looked fun too. I don’t think I ever seen that place so packed.

Thanks mate 👊🏼 you need to try and be in London for this year’s one , I heard it might be in July this time.
Also I heard a rumour it might be covering the 80’s and 90’s so could be really good.
This was great. What an opportunity to live some skate history.
I am on my second Opera Board now. I love what they are doing. Rumor has it the Steve Roco will be joining the Sidewalk skate team.

As a fellow Bod Boyle fanboy- it's so awesome that he's cool like that!! I just met Jeromy Green last week and he's way friendlier than even the local blokes I skate with regularly. That really helps the ol' stoke level!! This event looked amazing! Thanks for sharing, Neil!
Ah thanks that's great to hear you enjoyed it, Bod is the best, I could talk to him for hours. I also met Jeromy at Vert Attack in Sweden and agree he is such a nice guy too. You know its funny people seem to think vert skaters are some kind of elitist band of jocks but actually they are the nicest group of people i ever meet in skateboarding, Zero attitude and very welcoming I'm 100% with you on the stoke factor!
