- In this video, we put our Ballistic Vest and Plate (Click here to go to BulletSafe.com: bulletsafe.com...) up against a high-powered hunting round, the .30-06 or 7.62 x 63mm round. Here in Michigan, this is a common hunting round for Buck, Bear, and anything else big. This round requires level IV protection and that is what the combination of our vest and plate provide. So, if you are looking for a great vest/plate combination for hunting or even doomsday prepping, look for level IV protection because there are a lot of .30-06 rifles and ammunition out there in the woods. You'll want to stay safe.

Try a 30.06 FMJ then you’d see a different outcome a soft tip had no chance but nearly did it MILITARY don’t piss around with fancy ammo it’s blunt force FMJ or AP even APSE that was not a good test that’s why he kept his finger on the head of the round.

Here’s the thing about the 30-06 though, you gotta be able to get back up after taking that full force.. it’s gonna knock the shit out of you. Possibly broken sternum or ribs.
What if you get shot again, in a different spot? And how many times will it hold up, in different spots? You should test, I'd like to see
I've knocked deer over with a 30.06 180 grain round. My all around rifle of choice.
I've got to think that if the shot was directly over the heart, the shock would rupture it along with connecting aortas. I seriously doubt you could survive such a round.

+Leon Stark indeed. AP rounds pierce Rock metal almost anything but very thick rock will not but leave like 3/4 or less depending what type and how thick it's is. AP is deadly.

xismxist Ya, all of those injuries could occur, espesialy broken ribs. But its like wering a helmet, you know if the impact is to much your skull can still crack. ... I just know I would rather get shot with that vest on than without it on.
GoldVillage The guy who shot the rifle with all that kinetic energy survived. The abruptness of the impact on the vest will be worse because the deceleration is in 1 inch instead of acceleration over 18 to 24, but it's not magically a killer on the receiving end.
Don’t forget ladies and gentlemen. That kind of deformation can still kill you. That’s basically getting hit with a sledge hammer as opposed to a bullet. Think about force over surface area. Bullet penetrates. But hitting the plate spreads it out. That deformation hits like a sledge hammer. On your sternum. That can break. And send bike fragments or sharp pieces from the break poking your lungs and heart and organs. I’m not knowing the company or plate. It fucking caught a 30-06. That’s not a fucking joke to take a hit from let alone catch. But that deformation is still absolutely causing critical injuries and taking you out of the fight for at least a few weeks. If you even make it out of whatever incident put you there to start with. Again. Not hating on the company or saying it deformed because it’s crap. I’m not. I just don’t want anyone to thing oh that’ll bruise but I’ll be fine. No. No no. That could still kill you. 100% a dice roll. The right round of 30-06 might have gone through. 180g moving at 2800fps is not a fucking joke.

Stopping it and surviving are two different things. I’m sure it will stop a 12 gauge 1 oz slug. You probably won’t survive but won’t have any holes in you.

1 inch of Titanium-Steel alloy plate can stop an AP 50 BMG without problems.
A bulletsafe level 3 vest with a level 5 ballistic plate will stop 30-06 AP round no joke!
Christopher Isac I’ve shot a current .30cal ap rated vest from our army with a old school ap round. It had Kevlar and some plate that said .30 ap on it. The penetrator passed all the way through it did stop the jacket. The .30 ap rating is for 7.62x39.

You'll end up with a incredibly sore shoulder. Semi automatic 7.62x63 has some serious recoil and will fuck the shooter up
LeThayle the was a small skirmish a while back where this little country used a semi automatic rifle in 30.06 to defeat the fucking world. Lots of men were fucked up by the 30.06 none of them were shooting it. All injured were on the loud side.
I bought one using the size chart and its too big. It looks ridiculous. I just decided not to wear it.
Obi-Wan Chubboni Bulletsafe operates out of Troy Michigan and they are very good about returns even though the mail. I returned my vest twice because of a size issue they were cool about it both times!!
You'll still live, but the trauma caused by the 06 is still life threatening if you don't get treated. You'll have broken ribs, you'll have the wind knocked out of you, possibly internal bleeding and severe bruising. It's still more than enough to take you out of the fight and earn you a trip to the ER Remember a 30-06 can kill 85 percent of the world's huntable game species, all non dangerous game up to the size of a moose. That's a 1500lb animal.
Trauma or broken ribs? No, the plate stopped all the damage. You would be unharmed.
