  • Domestic Singer 201k-3 with a Consew CSM-1000 brushless servo motor. I said 14mm pulley, but that's the inside diameter. It's actually a 45mm (outside diameter) pulley. You can find them on Amazon or eBay among others.

    I'm looking to make a universal portable box/ table for my domestics - Pfaff 230, and my range of Singer 15's. I have a 99k with knee lever and can appreciate the quiet running....Well done.

    Your machine runs like a Cadillac. None of that weird clanking that you hear with many vintage machines. It must be nice. As for your motor setup, I've been curious about just such a thing but wasn't sure if it could be done. So Yes I did learn something. Thanks for taking the time to share.

      I have switched to a traditional industrial style v-belt, I wasn’t very happy with the stretching of that green belt and it caused it to slip at times of high speed or thick layers.

    Thank you for showing the use of a servo motor on a singer 201k. I tried to record the speed of your machine at low and high speed by having your video shown in slow motion. The low speed was about 72 stitches/minute and the high sped about 480 stitches/minute. It seems to me, that your 40 mm pulley should make the gearing to be about 2:1 from motor to machine. I guess you use the normal handwheel for a vintage Singer sewing machine with motor. Therefore the lowest speed of the motor seems to be 144 RPM. I have not found specifications on the lowest speed for this motor. I have seen one answer saying 500 RPM, but I do not think it can be true, when I look your machine.
    I use about the same high speed as you, but a low speed much slower using a normal sewing machine motor with a speed reducer. Perhaps you have seen my videos.

    Hi Alex, could you please tell me what belt you used to fit both the 201K and the 45mm Pulley? Perhaps share a link to purchase it? Thank you.

    Could you tell me the pulley setup you use? I know the servo pulleys are for wider belts than the domestic machines use.

      It is a 45mm pulley. I accidentally said 14mm, but it's a 45mm pulley that I found on amazon. I searched "45mm clutch pulley" and found the one that fits the shaft of my motor.

    Can this be done to a potted motor 201-2 or 15-91?

    • @GregThompson-dn9eo
      @GregThompson-dn9eo 3 роки тому +1

      No. You would have to completely remove the potted motor assembly and add a hand wheel that has a belt groove. I have done that to my 201-2. I got the hand wheel and belt guard from a class 15 clone. They fit perfectly.

    Hey, I like your setup a lot. Do you know the length of the bottom of this machine? The reason I ask is because I’ve stumbled across someone’s passion project exactly like this, a industrial sewing table with a clutch motor fitted for a domestic machine. The original domestic is far beyond repair but the clutch motor is in decent shape. I’m gonna see if I can figure something out spending the least possible amount of money.

    can you use industrial needles nice work looks like a beast i wana use this for demin coats an canvas will it last can you turn this into an industrail machine bigger needles

    • @stillinkansas
      @stillinkansas  8 місяців тому

      I’ve never tried an industrial needle in it, but it’s not really robust enough to become an industrial machine.
