I could be wrong but I think high tens is a very conservative estimate on motor. My 1967 Fairlane GTA with 428cj with a good high lift long duration dual profile solid flat tappet camshaft with a big block C6 with manual valve body and high stall converter with stock suspension on Mickey Thompson drag radials at 3400 lbs. ran 10.38 naturally aspirated on racing fuel. Your suspension has to hook up better than the old Fairlane which would spin tires viciously going into second at 50mph and again in high at 100 mph. It had koni drag shocks and extra heavy sway bars and the old drag bars from the seventies. Watching the Malibu break loose in high reminds me how hairy that old Ford was to drive and why it stayed home when it rained. Most young people don't have no idea how to drive a car like that without traction control. Your videos always remind me of past cars and inspiration to build another in my retirement years. I love it...... I ruined my hoodie at work, So I got my christmas present early from my wife ( grandson) . I got a BEA-utiful new OMG zip up Hoodie, I wore it today 28 degrees and was plenty warm in the garage / car ride to work. My grandson will be 3 years old in 3 months, every morning before work he asks " Papa we watch old man" . So most mornings it is OMG and some country music. My kids were raised by their mother as I worked 12 hour days 6 days a week and didn't have a lot of time with them, leaving for work just before they got out of school. I am hoping this lil guy falls in my foot steps with my love of cars and the outdoors. We are already eyeing JR. dragsters to start working on by time he is 5 years old. Bill, the ol Malibu is definitely scooting on down the road like a beast!! It's a good thing that engine don't make more tq than it does N/A or your traction control issue would be even worse lol. With the new power plant next year is for sure gonna be a really good year for you and the channel!
