I'm in two minds about that, they seem to have gone for grim and left it there. While 40k is the grim dark future this is also "the future" yet the visuals are like if you or I went into a dark mausoleum with our average 20/20 and colour perception. Astartes have superior eyesight plus ocular enhancement technology within their armour, and some have bionic eyes, one of the reasons they wear armour painted in fancy colours is because they would see each other even if painted in camo, yet everything looks like a damaged beer brewery with half the lights switched off. The sounds don't take into account the size and power of the weapons, bolters sound like a COD SMG rather than a .50 cal BMG (standard bolter rounds are around .75 cal) the bolt is then further self propelled by a rocket when it leaves the barrel, then the bolt explodes once it has penetrated its target, that is a lot of energy therefore a lot of sound. The assault cannon should sound like an A-10 Warthog on roids "BBRRRRRRRRRRR-RRRRRRR-RRRR!!!!"
@@obiitom you don't know what you're talking about. I am leaving a link for a weapon that uses rocket propelled bullets. There is no '.50 cal' boom. I just thought the animations and sound design needed a lot of work. Like when you fire a Stormboltor, it sounds like a regular 20th century gun instead of a 400th century Boltor and when the enemies got hit they'd just like flinch a little instead of looking like they're being hit over and over with basically RPGs in bullet form. @@flabbergasted7237 I know the Lore, the problem is the game devs barely put in any work into designing it to have a realistic feel to the projectile and melee impact locations. Even if it just bounces off their carapace, it should reflect that, don't you think?
The game really nails 2 things if anything; 1 - You really get the feeling of what it means to be aboard a 40k Imperium Ship. It's this endless maze of corridors, chambers, technical spaces, where you could be walking for days without ever encountering a window, illustrates well how crewmembers may not have an inkling of what stars, sunlight and space looks like, what nature, trees or plants even are as they are born and spend their entire lives in these corridors. 2 - You get the perfect sense of what warp travel entails in 40k, a ship comes out of space and it turns out to be 10k year old relic with long-since mummified crew and a bunch of aliens infesting it for... who knows how long. How in 40k even interstellar travel is a terrifying experience that never guarantees a safe and short journey. Like you get an inkling of the reason why Battlefleet solar is so obnoxiously huge and how the whole Sol system is a mass of defense systems, one ship embarks to Sol with shipment of food and it comes back from warp after 3000 years 10x larger and containing a cargo of 1trillion mutants.

@@Conqorius I'd pay to play as Adeptus Mechanicus for DLC or sequel. Lore wise they are really good at fighting Tyranids. Don't let the corpses of the many Tech-Priests on the Space Hulk fool you. Once the Mechanicus get serious about waging a war, they will do it with or with out aid from any Astartes or Militarum forces.
There is one thing i dig about this game: They got the narrator from the Garro audiobooks to do the narration on this game. Or at least someone whose voice if extremely similar.
"Lord Inquisitor, I... am unsure of some details and some reasoning." "Very well. Elaborate." "The mission is to investigate matters of the Astartes engaged the foul xenos in a Space Hulk." "That is the mission." "As a member of the Ordo Hereticus I am yours to command as you will; I am unsure though that my efforts could match those of the esteemed Ordo Xen-" "Ah. I see the source of confusion." "I am relieved my lord." "The Astartes in this matter are Dark Angels." "AH. I believe I am no longer unsure of any details my lord. The emperor be praised."
The gameplay and sound design though was about as good as GW's response to fan made content (pretty disappointing and downright insulting). Its a shame too because the visual design is so damn good, the details and everything are stunning (sure you need a monster of a rig to run it without serious lag but still), it almost creates the perfect immersion...but then you have the pew pew sounding super slow storm bolter, the lack luster melee impacts, the laughably squishy terminator armor (especially against fucking cultists...seriously, the ones with autoguns should literally do 0 damage amd just be there as fodder, and the grimdark panzershriek ones should barely do anything, but they're crazy strong), 2/3 of the weapons are unusable on single player as they're not versatile enough at all ranges to do everything u need because your AI teammates are only useful to soak up damage since they're braindead and can't do anything else, just so many issues. Sadly, take away the amazing visuals and the game is pretty disastrously bad. They basically took space hulk the boardgame and turned it directly into an FPS without adding any extra content that you'd hope for in an FPS. Its just a corridor wave shooter with really nothing else to do. It pains me to say that because I genuinely love the visual design and wanted to love the game. Its not unplayable, and with friends it can be pretty fun...but solo its unbearable and boring. Even with friends, you have to make the fun yourself by role-playing as the game won't make the fun for you...

Correct me if I’m wrong but why is my armor being wrecked by what would be considered small arms fire in 40k? I get why a Tyra is could slice open a terminator armor, but gene stealers with bolters? (If they are bolters)
I've contemplated getting this game but a few reviews are making me hesitate, they all say you get swarmed easily and the enemies are bullet sponges and that despite being a Librarian in terminator armor you die quickly. But watching this the guy seems to mow down enemies easily and take little to no damage. Which is it? Or is he using mods/cheats of some kind?
Not entirely, but you can take 5 fragments lasting 7-10 minutes. According to the rules of UA-cam, I can have problems if the content is duplicated to other sites, especially in unchanged form.
Level and artwork were great; gameplay was repetetive / bland. How many swarms can you slaughter before it gets boring? About 57; this game has about 570.
Weird question, it is strange to think that, an organic bestial claw can cut through not just ceramite armor, but terminator armor. You'd think the R & D boys back on Mars would have come up with a stronger material, capable of shrugging of the Tyranids attack. Why is it, that in all the vast amount of time they've had, have they never been able to improve/stiffen the armor?. It just seems weird to me that, the most prized armor the Imperium has ( maybe the Custodes have better... not as hip to the lore as others ) to offer, and yet a lesser animals claw ( not sure if it's a regular claw or bone ) can cut through it. Sure, one of those Hive Tyrant things, I can see that being a credible threat, but the regular types, just seems odd. If anyone can provide some illumination on this, would be much obliged. P.S. Since Orks live only for fighting, do they enjoy meeting Tyranids during their travels?. I would imagine the Orks would be ecstatic at the thought.
The tyranids are a hive mind, constantly evolving more efficient creatures to devour biomass. If the claw doesn't cut, the next wave of foul xenos will have harder claws that do cut. The imperium on the other hand is pretty much stagnant, science has been replaced by superstition, they don't even know how to make most of their best shit anymore, let alone improve it.
Completely new to this, but why are the marines flamethrower, and bolter shots not injuring/maiming/killing/etc.. the marines in front that appear to get it "right up the hooper" with all the projectiles(even if its flame)? Or is it meant to be close, not hits, or are they impervious?

Gotta Go Fast! 1:02:13
Hell 98 haha wtf
When you gotta start purging at 6:00 but it's already 6:05
And on 1:37:35 **Powerwalking intencifies**

I'd just like to echo what others have said - thanks for taking the time to pause and take in the scenery. Too many other play-throughs rush through everything and you end up missing the details and atmosphere.
It's such a shame there aren't more shooters for 40k. I know it's root is in strategy, but I would love more diversity in genre
Every Time we get the same Reskinned Left 4 Dead Vermintide type game. It was cool the first time...it was alright the second...now it's just depressing.
Boltgun said hi
Spacemarine 2 is out now! Great game, you should try it
1:58:32 Is it The Rock, also know as the Tower of Angels?
No, but this Rock flew around Caliban :)
Thank you for making this video, in the style you have. This style of 'game movie' gets as close to the action as some people, like myself, will ever get because we don't have a chance to play the game itself or etc. Thank you.
If you think about it, astartes is basically a movie adaptation of this game but with guardsmen, psykers and warp fuckery.
I love the part where the servitor is fleeing something but you only find out exactly what when you turn on the heat vision
This is pretty freaking fantastic! Thanks for making it! Not a 40K player but I absolutely love the universe and the stories!
Right around 36 min in, looked like some sort of alt fire for the flame thrower. All I could think was "I cast fire tornado!". Cool game, thanks for the vid
"By His Holy Throne!, And By The Lion! , We were Taught of this; but not Trained in it.
Nevertheless: Onwards, My Brothers, to Victory in His Will!"
If you did all those edits, that's awesome. I've never played the game but it looks like a movie!
this game looks so, soooo gorgeous, i realy wish they would make DLCs or part 2 or something to expand upon the story, maybe even add a completely new plot at all, anything would serve this game well (and subsequently us, its fans, ofc ^^)
Amazing game, unfortunately it has been abandoned completely by the devs . Id pay for a chaos dlc!!
They still playing with this game? Bc iam planing to buy it.
30:30 That's rude, Even for a Dark Angel
Also someone should tell Nahum to calm down a little 1:02:11
Thank you for the epilepsy warning
This was awesome. I can't believe I watched the entire thing. Awesome editing!
There is one thing i dig about this game: They got the narrator from the Garro audiobooks to do the narration on this game. Or at least someone whose voice if extremely similar.
It's Toby Longworth. So yes, the exact same narrator as well the narrator for Eisenhorn and Gaunt's Ghosts.
@@jonVOA I figured. He sure does a good job on 40k from what I can tell.
Very cinematic experience, masterfully done my friend.
Thanks for the intensive insights into the many details of the different rooms!
Sursum corda
1:02:14 that space marine is so excited he's gone all giddy 😁🤣
Hanna-Barbera running sound effect
"Lord Inquisitor, I... am unsure of some details and some reasoning."
"Very well. Elaborate."
"The mission is to investigate matters of the Astartes engaged the foul xenos in a Space Hulk."
"That is the mission."
"As a member of the Ordo Hereticus I am yours to command as you will; I am unsure though that my efforts could match those of the esteemed Ordo Xen-"
"Ah. I see the source of confusion."
"I am relieved my lord."
"The Astartes in this matter are Dark Angels."
"AH. I believe I am no longer unsure of any details my lord. The emperor be praised."
The aesthetics and Designs of this game are Breathtaking. Really did Warhammer 40K justice.
Awesome work dude
Man this was awesome!
>Player is a member of the dark angels
>secondary objective is stealing relics
This was great, nice pacing and a first person experience of the story drenched in 40K goodness and atmosphere..
This isn't a cut scene video, its practically a run of the game.
Is it just me but this entire background is taken literally directly from Battlefleet Gothic Armada 2, even can hear the sounds of macro cannons and lance batteries in the background 1:57:00
yep
Wao man! The edit is on point
Damn, that is some nice editing you did. GJ
1:49:50 Barachiel is denied a heroic sacrifice and is disappointed.. Commitment at it's finest
i must say, you german sub is AWESOME, you used the right words (non-englisch have sometime difference words, like Power weapon are in german Energy weapon) and the words that stay in english (like marines chapter) ARE in english!
wait a minute......our librarian is doing all of this without a helmet???
He's gained the honor to fight without one, like the most Captains do. But they have a forcefield- generator ( Iron- Halo/ Refractorfield) instead^^
Imagine the game you can make with this universe if GW actually put some heart in it , so sad we have to depend on fans .
More like if GW would stop firing off cease and desist letters like confetti.
Amazing work.
Thank u for the epilepsy warning!
Dam, it would suck to be them. 23:01 I guess they're used for engine parts.
Tyranid Psyquer : Uses One shot killing ability .
Brother : Deadly crippling heresy is crippling ....
This looks well made.
129:12 the Warhammer you're wielding turned into a " One hitta Quitta real fast" that's what you need to clear out a place double time lol
I was surprised about this game, i found it challenging but in a good way, and i loved the creepy vibe of the game.
Adonr hurt .e
Perfect work with the content, thanks
RESPECT I PLAYED THIS GAME 3 TIMES AND IM HERE AGAIN WATCHING
The thumbnail looks as though they're holding hands. 🤭 Thank you for your effort! I really enjoyed watching!
Very impressive video editing here! Well done, and thank you for sharing.
Honestly a Pretty Great Representation of a Casual Tuesday Terminator Romp through a Hulk
So Peaceful
Gotta wonder how weird would it be for any game company to make an game about Kharn and you go on a bloodbath spree
Dodo Pepe they did it’s called doom
OVO /// dude doom wish it could ever be a blood lunatic khorne zealots massmurderer like kharn the betrayer
Doom Eternal: Angron mod, when?
It looks much better and clearer here than on my PS4.
Couldn't help but grin like a manic when 33:59 the fire came in. Yess!! Burn heretics!!!
I love how the genestealer in the armory level was glitching out
You make very good game movies! The best i've seen!
This would actually be a scary type game like aliens if you weren't a giant super soldier in terminator armour that knows no fear
When I first saw the thumbnail, I thought these guys were holding hands.
None can stand against the Emperor’s chosen
Correct me if I’m wrong but why is my armor being wrecked by what would be considered small arms fire in 40k? I get why a Tyra is could slice open a terminator armor, but gene stealers with bolters? (If they are bolters)
What is the terminator using to mind meld? I thought space marines that had psicher abilities were executed on the spot ?
Oh, they even hired Toby Longworth for the narration! I never noticed before. Amazing 40K narrator, probably the best in my opinion.
Every time someone says the "Xenos are uncounted" take a drink.
Death by alcohol poisoning
22:54 the most creative V6 design i've ever seen
Now i know the guy doing the narration its the guy they get to do most the audio books
Brilliant editing my man
I've contemplated getting this game but a few reviews are making me hesitate, they all say you get swarmed easily and the enemies are bullet sponges and that despite being a Librarian in terminator armor you die quickly. But watching this the guy seems to mow down enemies easily and take little to no damage. Which is it? Or is he using mods/cheats of some kind?
33:30 anyone catch the tribute to George Lucas 1st movie THX1139?
can i use this video for introduce space hulk ; deathwing game for my country ppl?
i will make sure the sourece if you allowed me.
Yes go ahead
Not entirely, but you can take 5 fragments lasting 7-10 minutes. According to the rules of UA-cam, I can have problems if the content is duplicated to other sites, especially in unchanged form.
@@Jijechka thks for your mercy.
i will use 5 frag, and each will take 1~3 minutes.
Level and artwork were great; gameplay was repetetive / bland. How many swarms can you slaughter before it gets boring? About 57; this game has about 570.
Inquisitor Squish yes inquisitor this is the heretic
13:33: how does he reload his bolter with just one arm???
The thumbnail makes it look like they are holding hands.
I would imagine the Orks would be ecstatic at the thought.
orks love nids actually
The tyranids are a hive mind, constantly evolving more efficient creatures to devour biomass. If the claw doesn't cut, the next wave of foul xenos will have harder claws that do cut. The imperium on the other hand is pretty much stagnant, science has been replaced by superstition, they don't even know how to make most of their best shit anymore, let alone improve it.
Corridor bullet-sponge shooting simulator. But the char and level art are awesome.
Most awesomenessly designed environments in SciFi gaming.
A cathedral in space.
I am Alpharius it's not exclusive to space craft, the titans are pretty much walking cathedrals with guns, the kind of cathedrals you find in Europe
Thank you
Completely new to this, but why are the marines flamethrower, and bolter shots not injuring/maiming/killing/etc.. the marines in front that appear to get it "right up the hooper" with all the projectiles(even if its flame)? Or is it meant to be close, not hits, or are they impervious?
i remeber when ChapterMasterValrak played this. He was so excited... Boah look that... and here.... and look at that...... until he found the Black Templars ship, then he go mad for all the details, for hes quite familar with the overall lore of 40k. and i had the same feelings. too bad if you are in teams with people who have no clue of 40k. mostly they have no eye for it^^ always pushin
i know its late asking this but does it really look a lot better in 4k?
I love my 144 frames and I dont want to compromise for less.
144hz and 4k is not cheap at all.
Should I get 4k over 144hz? 60hz jitters use to hurt the crap out of my eyes.
Never played on monitors with 144Hz. But after playing in 4k resolution, I feel pain looking at 1080p resolution
