"Let the record show that the Baron has identified Rex Rexroth as the silly man!" When I first saw that 15 years ago I completely lost it, and I still haven't found it.
I do think this is the funniest film ever made. It's comedy as martial art - it attacks with ruthlessly escalating combinations of gags that build to a finishing move that completely takes you out.
I like how the bailiff corrects himself when the baron says that his name is "Krauss von Espy", but when when he adds that he's the _baron_ Krauss von Espy the bailiff just ignores him. See US Constitution, Art. I, Sec. 9, Cl. 8.
@@huntinglightning3507 Oh its TOTALLY over the top. Thats what makes it so damn good! As someone else mentioned, the scene is even better when you know the context leading up to it. This scene was just burned into my memory as one of the all time comedy greats.
I am the only freak of female who can have her sensuality lie dormant for years and years because i am so picky and with other interests which are more important and also was married to be trained as nun, but real women have needs very much so which i discovered while being trained as nun.......the discussions i am writing are going to be such 'lively arena' and so interesting.....
The whole movie is hilarious but "Objection your honour, strangling the witness"........"I'm going to allow it" is priceless.
It'd obvious from the setup, and it still works beautifully.
"I just love trains! I LOVE TRAINS!"

This is a great film... don’t understand why it wasn’t very successful. George and Catherine were amazing in this film
I agree...a hysterical movie. The Coen Brothers are the best.
@@slavkobegic1418 not really. It really deserved a lot of attention, it’s great!
"Shut up, Freddy, she's going to allow it!"
"Can I say this wealthsssss" lmaoooo
"Shut up, Freddy, she's allowing it " ( that look by Clooney at the judge) lol
Great movie
One of the best and most under-rated scenes in any Coen Bros movie!
"I'm going to allow it!"😂😂😂
Ever since seeing this movie, I've waited for the opportunity to use the term Square Job and I'm still looking.
What horrible , reckless, irresponsible behaviour in a courtroom.
How could anyone treat a Pomeranian that way!
she is allowing it shut the fuck up
I am going to allow it
One of my all-time fave clips

One of my favorite scenes. Set up and payoff.
Such a fantastic scene…
I love how over-the-top everyone is.
I fucking love how proud he is after he says "makes hammer to his fanny"
Hahahahhahahhahaha I can watch that all day
Hahahaha Silly man!
I am going to allow it
01:59 my heart stop
Yes, realizing all that had built up to this seen, you knew shit was going happen!

Is Jonathan Hadary's character supposed to be French or something? 😅 BTW, This guy is criminally underrated.
Swiss actually. Hard to tell with that crazy accent.
@@daveanderson718 Thanks. It sounded over the top.

@@daveanderson718 True. Jonathan Hadary is a REALLY underrated actor IMO.
