"Steve, you were great in the woodchipper scene." 🤣🤣😂 I'M HOWLING.
Well he was! The way he bobbed his foot up and down...
Gilbert’s laugh lol
2:10 I was always curious about Buscemis reaction to being called "funny looking." Glad to hear he's a good sport about it. Legendary actor.
Although it sounds like he didn't quite realise he was before the Coens' script pointed it out to him, but he came to terms with not needing to do anything to look funny looking rather easy.
@guffmuff90 Very jealous of your friend. Buscemi plays some of the scummiest people in cinema/television but sounds like the most down to earth person.
Watch his SNL coach skit
Dude was fucking hot when he was young! i.pinimg.com/564x/5e/f9/ba/5ef9ba35d86d5a88e6eab795dcc9cf64.jpg
I'd be a good sport about it knowing my funny looks and acting skills made me a millionaire too tbf.
Steve Buscemi and Willem Dafoe are two legendary actors who I would love to see pair up together in a movie.
@@silverstem2964What the hell are you talking about? Reported for misinformation.
Yeah. They're both funny looking
Never go double funny looking!
Buscemi directed Dafoe in Animal Factory.
__Lighthouse 2__ Andy Serkis can be the creature in the light.
Steve, you are the man who guarantees a good movie, even with one line or scene.
That part about silence on the phone cracked me up. :D
Bloody love the Coens and he is one of the best actors they've used.
Steve Buscemi getting as many roles as he does while being "funny looking" is a testament to his skill.
Listen, nobody likes Steve Buscemi more than I do, but the Coen brothers keep casting him in large part BECAUSE he's funny looking, not despite it
He is a great actor but as someone else has pointed out his look is part of what makes watching him so easy
Him discussing with the Coens what he could have done to make himself more funny looking and the Coens going silent and Steve just coming to terms he didn't need to do anything was hillarious.
Unique looking people get more roles than generic looking people. You're acting like all actors are stereotypically beautiful.
What a back handed complement
>Fargo< is my favorite movie of the 90s.
Watched it numerous times.
Great piece of art. Thanks for showing just how much can be achieved even with a limited budget, as long as the people involved know what they‘re doing.
Nice, hope to see more vids of Buscemi
Steve may be "Funny looking" but his talent and his soul make him a beautiful man
Gilbert Gottfried should be credited as the source of this interview.
Such a talented actor and nice guy!.
Steve Buscemi is on the level of Phillip Seymour Hoffmann, but with an even greater range. He get referenced mostly for his comic roles but he has real chops and is a great guy in real life, humble and upstanding.
I absolutely love him, but get out of here he has nowhere near the chameleon-like range of Phil.
Who says he's recognized mostly for comedic roles? His signature roles are probly Fargo, Reservoir Dogs, and Ghost World, which I guess are all black comedies in a way, but I don't think they're considered 'comedic roles.' What a weird statement.
@@masterofallgoons I think what makes them films black comedy's is the presence of actors like Steve it's the smart assedness and the "weird" looks or the fast talking that make the scenes they are in funny. Joe Pesci can do the same.
I could see how someone would see them as comedy rolls in a non comedy film but they aren't quite on the level of being relegated to comic relief because they have better acting chops.
@@SuperCooper1987- I think it's more what the other guy said.. younger viewers that only know memes and Adam Sandler movies think that's what Buscemi is known for, when really it was a weird choice to put him in those dumb comedies because he was already such a respected actor from those 90s independent-ish films.
@@masterofallgoons I did think of them rolls in Adam Sandler films but didn't mention it as to me with Steve they are such strange throwaway things compared to his respected rolls.
Him and Rob Schneider are usually in them short little bits not really characters except again they look and sound weird.
Also like you said probably perfect for 10 second meme clips.
"Great in the woodchipper scene!" Gotta love that.
Wow. I so remember Steve's role in Miller's Crossing. It was my first Coen Brothers movie as well. Back around 95, walked into a room where it was showing on TV. Got hooked, HAD to know the name of the director. Oh, TWO directors? ... Thanks, Steve.
I absolutely love the Coen Brothers stuff, STF Donnie!
Just seems like a fun guy to be around, and let's not forget: he directed one of the best episodes of "The Sopranos"
Steve was priceless in Miller's Crossing. It is their second best movie. No Country For Old Men is their best.
I rented Miller's recently and couldn't get through it but will try again
@@kilgoretrout321 It will grow on you. It's a very well made movie. I have seen it many times. I even saw it on the big screen that used a 4k print of the movie.
Legendary as Donny!
A very fine actor he is
What an actor
I love Steve buscemi because I'm extremely face blind but no one's that face blind.
Buscemi was a fireman, said he still volunteers.
‘Hudsucker Proxy’ is one of the only Coen brothers films he’s in where he doesn’t die.
Chet doesn't die in Barton Fink. At least it isn't shown that he died. He might not have made it out of the Hotel Earle fire but I like to think he's still out there somewhere giving complimentary shoe shines to hotel guests be they trans or res.
I was just watching Fargo the other day...hadn't seen it for awhile. It's different & better now that I've lived & experienced more...buscemi is awesome .
Good call. Think I'll revisit it tonight
Is he being interviewed by Gilbert Godfried?
Yes. Yes, he is.
Love this guy.
I'm usually "whatever..." when I read a negative review of a movie I like, but I a genuinely perplexed, confused, and unsure of my feet when I read a review that doesn't think Miller's Crossing is anything less than a masterpiece.
He was great in “board walk empire” hidden gem forsure…
Great clip! Steve is fantastic in virtually every role he’s ever done. Kinda like Paul Giamatti, Woody Harrelson, Greg Kinnear, and probably a dozen other somewhat unheralded “character” actors.
Bro Phillip Seymour Hoffman, William H Macy, Billy Bob, character actors are the best
One of the funniest lines is when he returns from the meeting with Wade. Gaear looks at his face covered with bloody toilet paper. Carl says "You should see the other guy."

Happy Birthday Steve
I would still love this dude if he was an annoying prima Donna that was extremely self-serious and up-his-own-ass. It just happened to be he seems like the most chill and warmly normal person in Hollywood.
As a former neighbor of his in Brooklyn, I can testify to how humble and cool he always was (and I imagine still is). Always genuinely pleasant and friendly -- the kind of guy I'd often see enjoying a slice at the local pizzeria.
The "alcohol" anecdote reminds me of Peter Stromare and his "pancakes house" line in Fargo, where he actually said it grammatically correct and the Coens were like "no, it's 'we stop at pancakes house'." They want the dialogue that they want. lmao
Always good.
Say what you will, Steve was great in that wood chipper scene!
I first became acquainted with Steve Buscemi in the TV show Homicide Life on the Streets and he was great.
Remember his entrance in Barton Fink? Up from the depths of hell!
CHET!
What is great is Mr Buscemi is one of the few that´s been a male model on the H&M underwear posters.
Always said "if there was a live action Run and Stimpy, Steve Buscemi was born to play Ren". Also always said," if I was an actor and had a chance to make one movie it would be for the Coen Brothers"
Steve Buscemi makes acting look effortless. Incredible skill. shut up Donnie!
Not just funny "looking" hilarious in general 👏
Steve Buscemi is so good, just so good. Yes, he is funny looking. But this man played Kruschev so believably because he is so good.
0:36 someone left the camcorder on smh
Steve Buscemi... naturally funny looking.
Steve Buscemi would have made a great live action Riddler
Did you get Howard's OK to use Ronnie's laugh? It worked but, that's not stuff Howard lets slip.
Are there long-form versions of these clips?
His name's Chet.
C-H-E-T
CHET!
@@michaelwebb1529 I hope you're pointing to your name plate when you say that.
"I could do something with my nose..................or I could do nothing." 😅
The woodchipper, whatever happened there.
Carmine...why would you possibly bring that up?
Flynn's an old fashioned guy, very allegorical.@@HVile
Buscemi’s bottom line got impacted, if that’s what you’re referring to
You’re funny. Funny looking.
-Quote from some movie
Was it just me or was someone howling with laughter the entire time?
I don't think the Coens know how to make a bad movie. At least not an uninteresting one.🤔
I could interview Buscemi all day..the man is a amazing actor.
Add a little bit of weight and there might still be time for him to play Peter Lorre in a piece about that era of films. My favorite actors have a particular skill set; they can be funny, really funny. But, they can also be so menacing that they're scary. It's a short list.
If you're funny looking, own it.
How do you do, fellow kids?
Interesting
Surely there must be hours of prosthetic work for that character.
"alcohool" was obviously intentionally funny. It doesn't even have to be explained, it's just that Coen-type funny.
the very worst thing that can happen to a person is to realize you're funny-looking...40 years into your existence.
the money you could've saved on breath-mints.
"Funny how?!"
🤣
I feel ya Steve. Apparently I am scary looking. I blame that Disney. Apparently cheekbones means villain. I don't know what it is. Probably Disney though
🍀🍀🍀
Fantastic actor but my respect for him went beyond a 1000% after 9/11!
Buscemi is brilliant. Pure and simple. A natural actor in his soul. Plus, I just feel he's probably a lovely, good human being. And I don't think he's funny looking at all. He looks exactly like Steve Buscemi!
Chet!
Steve, I just love your acting ability , although you are “ funny looking “. Have you ever worked with Joe Pesci? Another one of my favorites…
Steve, you have no frame of reference.
Great directors. Just wish they represented asian american characters better tather than as racialized caricatures (fargo is a perfect example)
Steve Buscemi discovering that he's actually "funny looking" in real life. ;-D
that fake 'radio morning' laugh - 🤮
That was Gilbert Gottfried when Buscemi was a guest on his podcast....that's just his laugh. Lol.
He could have fixed the gap in his teeth but he said he'd be out of a job if he did that.
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
What the fuck was that intro
All you do is complain
Too bad he is living in a conspiracy world now! Oh well. Can't fix that.
Zero need for the annoying aflac guy laugh.
wonderful to hear gilbert gottfried's laugh in this
For me it was him discussing with the Coens what he could have done to make himself more funny looking and the Coens going silent and Steve just coming to terms he didn't need to do anything, lol
The timing on the laugh was perfection. Just as the penny dropped.
I found it jarring, annoying and out of place.
@@temite80 aww 😢
Not only a fantastic actor but also a damn great storyteller. That was hilarious.
Check his appearance on the Gilbert Gottfried podcast. Really good 😊
People, if you haven't yet seen Steve Buscemi's "Trees Lounge", do yourselves a favor. Steve directed it, and it's one of the best little movies I've ever seen. It also has a veritable who's who of actors you'll recognize from "The Sopranos", "Goodfellas", and other shows. Not to be missed.
He's also great in In The Soup!
One of my most beloved flicks and ALWAYS for me a go-to...
Buscemi was a firefighter at one point in NY and went back to volunteer in the aftermath of 9/11. I like to highlight that for those unaware. Hes a true hero in every sense of the word.
So, the opposite of Donuld Tre45on.
@@reidflemingworldstoughestm1394if you are trying to slander Trump. You should know he gave aid to the emergency services during 9/11 and is a proud New Yorker
@@c.galindo9639 He lied about that. Tre45on was nowhere near ground zero. Hell, he won't even go to mcdonalds without body guards─and this is before 2016. No, it isn't slander, it's reality.
Why do you insist on believing his lies? Small children can tell that everything he says is a lie. How can any adult not know that he lies with every breath he takes?
@@c.galindo9639Really? Because after the towers fell, The first thing he said was that now he had the tallest building in NY.
Gtfoh...
@@SomeGuyNamedTex wow instead of actually researching it you decided to throw out a negative comment to display your idiocy.
Congratulations, you played yourself.
Now put on your dunce hat
Superb actor. One of the best. I'm always happy to see he's in a movie.
it's crazy how much original and top level movies they made and keep doing it
"or I could do nothing"
this is fast becoming my favourite channel
Why has there not been a movie about Peter Lorre written for this man? Love everything he’s done.❤
Buscemi is one of the greats!
Damn, the 1990s were just a Golden Age of independent film making! Tarantino, Coen Bros., Lynch, etc. Do you know when you are in the midst of a "golden age" ?
Independent films had been made for YEARS lol John Cassavetes was making independent films
, a movie called “Halloween” released in 1978 ended up being the highest grossing independent horror film until a movie called “the Blair witch project “ (which you forgot to mention) beat Halloween to become the highest grossing independent film in 1999.
@@Njbear7453you new here?
Apocalypse Now, anything with Gene Hackman, Kubrick, The Conversation, Fellini....Bergman, Kurosawa, yeah, I knew.
We went to the video store once a week and looked over all of the titles, picking up the boxes and reading the descriptions. You would do that several times for some movies until you finally decided it was "the day" to take it home, and then you would wonder why you never picked it up before because it was a really good film.
Great actor. Damned good man.
Just an absolutely amazing actor.
got to meet steve a few years ago at a friend’s premiere in manhattan. very nice guy and he frequently gives his own time to the people of the nyc fire dept.
I never get tired of watching "Miller's Crossing".
Such an ode to old movies. Awesome
Being a good actor and funny looking usually means you never get any protagonist role, but you do get a plethora of second roles. It's like doing an interesting twist on a character just by casting.
he's the lead character in Boardwalk Empire
Hello! Love Steve he's the best
I'm still waiting for Buscemi to star in "The Don Knotts Story."
No, the Wilham Defoe story..
Is Gilbert Gottfried chortling from the grave in the background?
A real modest actor Steve Buscemi is. Really his way of telling his recollection on them is like creating a small movie summary. Seems nice
I always assumed that they wrote that role for Steve in mind. So that's how poor Steve found out he's "funny looking".
“Just silence on the phone”😂😂
