A good introduction actually, as it shows why the project was built around Su and her voice. It's ability to pierce a wall of sound. Looking forward to more!
Excellent first reaction, welcome to the BABYMETAL Foxhole.🦊You won't have seen or heard anything quite like BABYMETAL - and if you like pure talent, theatre, performance, production, virtuosity (and even something bordering on acrobatics) you will find none better. No they do not have a male doing harsh vocals, you may be mistaking them for Ladybaby, another group who tried to jump on the BABYMETAL coat tails. Normally there are 3 girls in BABYMETAL - Su-metal is the lead vocalist, originally Yuimetal and Moametal, now Moametal and Momometal, provide backing vocals, harmonies and are crucial to what makes BABYMETAL standout, unique and original with their interpretive choreo (which also serves to involve and include the audience ... BABYMETAL are black belts in crowd engagement and crowd control). Yui left the band in 2018 for health reasons after a 12 month absence. Su and Moa continued as a duo for 4-5 years supported by one of three dancers filling the third spot for live shows. In April 2023 they finally revealed a new third member (the only remaining dancer of the three who had been with them since 2019) Momometal. This is one of four Su-metal solos, two on each of the first two albums. Yui and Moa would get a break while Su performed those. I so agree about singers overuse of vibrato. The fact that Su sings so straight and uses her beautiful vibrato so sparingly sets her apart (and above). She is an incredible and very versatile vocalist and the whole concept for BABYMETAL was formed around her talents for very good reason. The instrumentalists are the Kami Band, some of Japan's very best session musicians - they can play anything - and with BABYMETAL they have to be able to do that. They are the support for all live shows - they first appeared in Oct 2012 and were phased in over the next 18 months or so playing at a couple of festivals and the encores in some shows. The Budokan shows at the start of March 2014 were where they finally became the full time support for all live shows. The intro here is called 'Mischiefs of the Metal Gods'. In order of solos - Leda Cygnus (blue guitar), Takayoshi Ohmura (gold guitar), BOH (6 string bass) and Hideki Aoyama (drums). This line up of the Kami Band (the Kami Band of the East) last appeared in January 2023. In 2019 the Kami Band of the West (American musicians) was brought in to support BABYMETAL in their increasingly lengthy foreign tours and they have been ever present since April 2023. There can't be many 16 year old girls who could follow that intro and then just take over the whole stage and arena the way Su did. This is one of their darkest songs lyrically. I understand rondo is a musical term denoting a repeated theme - something like that anyway. I believe they borrowed the term for the title of this song as Su is caught in a recurring nightmare, being chased through the darkness by something she can't see. Eventually she hides, but it is still coming closer. Knowing there is no escape she asks that if she is to die won't it at least reveal itself to her. This was only the second time Su had performed this song live - the first time was the night before. This was early March 2014. They played two nights at the Budokan in Tokyo (you seem familiar with just what a prestigious venue it is - it is the place all Japanese and many foreign artists aspire to play), Red Night and Black Night, becoming the youngest average age female band ever to headline there (Su was 16 and a couple of months, Yui and Moa still only 14). They had just released their first album - they sold out both nights. 🤘🦊🤘 They were back at the Budokan as part of their 10th anniversary celebration and played 10 shows over the first 3 or 4 months of 2021. They formed in 2010 as a sub-unit of a JPop Idol group, separating from that group in 2013 to become an independent band. They started as a fusion of Metal with JPop hooks, melodies and aesthetics and they have gone on to do so much more with songs in virtually every metal genre, but blended and mixed with so many more musical styles and genres. They have about 70 songs now, each on different to the last, each one crafted and perfected (they have used the same select group of composers and writers for nearly all their songs ever since they started). The albums and official videos are all very good, but BABYMETAL are a live performance act - live is where you will see and, most importantly, hear them at their very best every time. Can I suggest a song from their 2023 album for another reaction - but two versions. First live at PIA Arena, April 2023 and then a piano version (almost A Capella) on The First Take. The song is 'Monochrome'.
Good intro - she was VERY young here and has only got better. Great reaction to an utterly unique group that defined their own genre for the last 14 years.
Great reaction, thanks and welcome to BABYMETAL. That was the 16-years-old version of Su-metal... she's turning 27 today. That's just crazy! Happy birthday, Su-metal! 🎂 "Rondo of Nightmare" is probably their darkest song lyrically. It's about Su being trapped into an endless nightmare, without any chance to escape, where she's chased by a dark entity as she tries to run away and hide. Finally she asks the entity to reveal its real nature before giving up. The song had the tentative name "Kill the Alice". This was just the second time they performed it live (the first one was just the previous night at the same venue) and Su-metal, at her 16, was standing by herself on a relatively small and elevated platform, without any safety and probably not being able so see a thing due to the spotlight. That's so freaking metal! Here is an excerpt from an interview with RollingStone (April 2014 issue): Q: Concerning Su-metal's solo songs we see that 'Akumu no Rondo' has been released as a new single. Su-metal: It seems my two solo songs are 'Akatsuki' and Akumu no Rondo'. 'Akatsuki' has the sense of being the 'redness of passion' (realize that Akatsuki means 'red moon') as is a song where I move around passionately. Compared with that, 'Akumu no Rondo' possesses the feeling of 'blackness'. The temporary title for this song was 'Kill The Alice' based on an image of Alice falling into a cave and being flaying around in the darkness. This is a story where it seems that something is chasing me (this girl) around in the darkness of the cave where I can see nothing at all. Most of the songs I have sung up to meeting this one have been passionate songs but this song has allowed me to try my hand at new ways of singing and I feel I approach this song with a new way of expression each time I sing it. Of course we want more BABYMETAL. Here is something newer: "Divine Attack" (Live at PIA Arena 2023): ua-cam.com/video/2WOHKe_4Fls/v-deo.html 🤘🦊
Great reaction! As a former sound engineer, I am so glad there are other people who also feel some singers overdo vibrato. Sumetal uses hers very sparingly, but when she does, it is gorgeous. If you are looking for something more recent with Su's more mature voice, I would suggest reacting to Monochrome live. They even have a First Take version with minimal instruments up on that channel.
Thanks for this reaction, made my day watching along! Su-Metal (lead singer) has a beautiful, powerful, precise voice that is so unique. There are hundreds of individual live performances like this one that will lead to a "wow, just wow" like you experienced here - I hope you keep going with them they are a brilliant band and they do not disappoint. If you stumble across them performing rap, or egyptian metal core, or scandanavian folk, or reggae, or straight up death metal -- don't worry it's just part of the experience.
Mostly I look at my comments and see what people are recommending the most and go with that. I tend to fly in completely blind so don't have much of a clue as to what's considered niche for the band but I'm kinda happy it turns out that way 😂😂
Hi from Ireland, definitely monochrome live at pia arena , two more from pia, road of resistance ,and megitsune. The strange vocally section, a sound engineer and vocal musician pointed out she presses the mic against her nose, I can see her do it but can validate if it makes that tone, I sort of tried it and interestingly it does seem to work to a degree 😊
Amazing reaction, and welcome to Babymetal! This is an absolutely incredible song and one of my favorites. The lyrics are about the protagonist losing the fight to a repeating nightmare, an unseen monster. She ultimately gives in, as she is "captured" by the light cage, and begs the monster to show their face. The solos were from Babymetal's original band, Kami Band (east), who performed with Babymetal from 2012 - 2021. They are now backed by Kami Band (west), 4 Americans, who are also amazing. The bassist is Bohte (BOH) Daisuke, and I'm pretty sure Wooten was one of his major influences (I may be wrong). Suzuka Nakamoto (Su-metal) is the lead vocalist, and this is one of her four solos. She was only 16 at this performance, but she will be 27 tomorrow (Dec 20th, 2024). I just saw Babymetal live in DC a few weeks ago and they are incredible. Here are a few other suggestions I would love to see you react to: *Road of Resistance (Official Live):* An epic anthem and performance from Jan 2015. Great showcase to see all 3 original members of Babymetal. *Monochrome (First Take Piano Version):* Stripped down version from the channel "First Take". A great showcase of Su-metal's raw vocals from 2023. *Monochrome (Pia Arena MM 2023):* The full version of the song, and a great showcase of what Babymetal is like today. 🤘🦊
11 years on from this performance and Su's voice has only improved. Try the incredible vocal display from the performance of the Babymetal song Monochrome from The First Take show, where artists get to sing or play a single song and the first take is the one that is broadcast. That version was just a little piano and her vocals, with a sweet harmony from her sidekick, Moa. Or there's the superb live version of Monochrome. PS The band are, as you say, Metal gods as their name is the Kami Band (God's band...as in a band consisting of gods, not a god's personal band!). Su has a vocal range of C4 to G#6.
Thanks from Japan 有難う💛。Happy birthday, Su-Metal !(Dec.20). This is the song that I am longing for the revival with Su-Metal's matured rich voice. (Of course I love this version) "Rondo" is a musical form with a recurring leading theme. I can't tell how many times I have viewed this video. It is literally a rondo of happy dream for me. Kamis' (=Gods') super solos were excellent enough as a main event in the show, but once the 16-year-old Queen (as of 2014) emerged from the underground, she colored everything differently with her penetrating voice then turned Kami Band's plays into a ritual to summon her.
Happy birthday my goddess my queen. Thank you Babymetal for saving my musical soul some 6 years ago... May you ladies have great and glorious lives for a long, long long long long long time.
Nice first reaction! I recommend watching the video of the song Megitsune from the Legend 43 show recently released on BABYMETAL's official channel. It's a song from 2013 but in a very recent version.
The Kami band being god-tier : then upstaged by a 16 year old Su-metal. After 10 years , Su-metal is 100x better. Note, Su-metal is on a 2 meter platform with light in her face and the rest of the arena is dark, she will be completely blind to her surroundings and will not be able to see the edge - she is fearless.
Great reaction! Welcome to the Foxhole (the part of band`s lore)))). Babymetal made so many differenr songs. The earlier stuff is great, but it has this contrast beetween the wall of heavy sound and cute tiny girls singing and dandcing. Not everybody likes it at first. And new stuff is absolutly gorgeous, more mature and solid. Monochrome (live), BMC... aaaah, so many of them are awsome! Good luck and happy journey!
I believe Su-Metal is the master of vibrato because she rarely uses it but when she does, it is almost certainly intentional. She uses it to provide emotion or to accent a phrase. I'm guessing that part where she puts her head down and sings is pre-recorded only because it sounds the same from one performance to the other. They must have recorded her singing that way originally however, right?
Realistically they could have recorded her in the studio and put the filter over her voice and she wouldn't have had to put her head down like that as I don't think her positioning was how she got the sound to begin with. There seems to be a lot of debate as to whether it is or isn't pre recorded but people will speculate. My comment was just from a vocal health longevity point of view 😊
Su-Metal is an amazing singer. If your curious to hear some of her wide range of techniques check out the following songs. " From Dusk Till Dawn", "Monochrome (First Take ,piano version)", " Divine Attack", " BxMxC". Each song highlights a different aspect of her vocals. And one thing you will discover about BabyMetal, live is always best. There are a lot more great songs in their catalogue. You won't be disappointed listening to any of them honestly.
Nice reaction. I can't seem to get tired of watching Babymetal reaction videos, there's just something about these girls that's so mesmerizing, and don't get me started on Su's voice and presence on stage. If you're continuing this journey, I would ask for a Headbanger!, Night Night Burn or Syncopation reaction. Always live performances!
More BABYMETAL? Always! And since you've already done my favorite song (and performance of it) I suggest my second favorite: "Shine" from their third studio album "Metal Galaxy". Or, to combine BABYMETAL with another band you have recently reacted to: "BEKHAUF" by Bloodywood, featuring BABYMETAL. The forces of India and Japan combined!
"she's got a great voice" Understatement of the century. She is exceptionally versatile and talented and has been performing at this level for over 10 years now. You are a bit off as to what Babymetal is. Babymetal is 3 young ladies, no male vocalists although they do have growls and stuff on track in some songs and those are probably male voices although one of the members can do harsh vocals. This song was a solo by the main vocalist, Suzuka Nakamoto (Su-metal), and she does 90% of the vocals. She has been a professional singer, dancer and actress since she was 10. The other two members are primarily dancers and backup vocals although they are both also talented vocalists. But Su is in a league of her own.
To appreciate how Su's voice has matured over the intervening decade, check out the song Metal Kingdom, the latest live compilation. With more mind wrenching stage production! I saw them play in Sydney last year, at the venerable Hordern Pavilion, which was a bit of a come down from those amazing Japanese arenas. It was still a fantastic show which was greatly enjoyed by the 5K audience. Thanks for the reaction, cheers mate.
Discovering bands like this is a big reason I started this channel to begin with. Honestly I'm glad they came through the channel even if it is 10 years late haha
@grieverproductions2022 I'm glad to hear that. There's so much to see and hear, and all 70+ songs are pretty much different from each other according to the time, age, and album.
You mentioned about the musicians and you'd have trouble on a spinning platform. They do a song called :Catch Me If You Can" at this same show, and Moa and Yui dance whle the platform is spinning. You may want to watch that even if you don't do a review. As for the "others" you mentioned, only Su, Yui and Moa are billed as "Babymetal" if there was a male singing it was either a colaboration of a feature artist. Even the musicains here, The Kami band are not part of Babymetal
Hi Griever. Fantastic reaction to a fan (The One) favourite clip. You have over 10 years of catching up to do with BM and I don't think you will be disappointed, and be prepared to expect the unexpected. The One will keep you well informed about anything BM related in the comments so you will always know what is going on. Happy birthday to our Queen Su-Metal. Still singing today like the Goddess she was all those years ago. Anyway, enjoy BM with a smile on your face because that's what they do to you.
Personally, I believe that the vocals in the middle part are pre-recorded. But I have seen a musician who reacted to this and said it might be real, and that the thinner sound might not even be an effect on her vocals, but purely a result of her angling the microphone upwards and closer to her nose. It would be cool if true, but I doubt it. In my opinion, Su's voice is simply the most beautiful sound in the world, I can't get enough of it. Also, I love that she uses vibrator so sparingly. It makes it so much better when she does. The excessive overuse of vibrato is the main reason that keeps me from liking other Japanese Metal bands, especially with female vocals. Apparently they love to do that, probably as a nod to traditional Japanese music. BABYMETAL don't have a male singer, what you have seen was probably one of their collaborations with Bring Me The Horizon, Bloodywood, Electric Callboy or F.Hero. All of those are great, BTW. They do use some male growls occasionally as an effect in their songs, but those are always coming from a backing track in a live setting.
Yeah I didn't realize it was just the three girls as every small clip I had seen included a male so must have been some form of collaboration. I go into these as blind as possible to give a proper genuine reaction so these slip ups happen from time to time 😊 As for that vocal section my concern would be that her head was still at that angle if she was singing it. Angling the microphone towards her nose would have masked the sound absolutely but it wouldn't change the stress around the vocal chords if it were live. My only concern would be the longevity of actually of doing that over and over again 😊
6:52 Been so immersed in Band Maid that I kinda forgot these guys 👀 (I'll add - I mean the Kami band, NOT BabyMetal, as once seen, they're unforgettable ☄) I do prefer the music of Band Maid ✅ but these guys do have that remarkable technical ability, too 👏🏽 I'm curious as to the era of BabyMetal here. As I remember this, the "kids" were still kids - so I'm keen to see them 👧🏽👧🏽 Ah, no kids on this one...
BABYMETAL has performed 98 shows in 25 countries in 2023 and not once did they lip-synch. They actually sing looking down too. Maybe a back voice. There is one interesting song in BABYMETAL, watch the live video where they sing half of the song in falsetto without mistakes. From Dusk Till Dawn.
Great reaction, I hope you do more of Babymetal! I'd love to hear your thoughts on Monochrome, especially comparing the live stage version to the stripped down piano version they did on The First Take.
su-metal's voice has matured and grown even stronger since this show. she truly is an amazing singer. another babymetal song that features the kami band doing solos before the vocals is "catch me if you can". that one also has yuimetal and moametal doing "scream and dance", and the male vocal you mentioned which i think is pre-recorded.
Welcome to the Foxhole and yes that is 100% Su-Metal doing that incredibly difficult music box vocal technique and making it look easy ,she is almost flawless through the performance except for right at the end where she hits a flat note for a splt second but hey she was only 16 and had to follow the guys 10 feet in the air on a tiny platform in the dark who had just blown the roof off,she is incredible Babymetal are incredible all very talented 🦊
Happy Birthday SuMetal, The First of her name, Queen of House Nakamoto, Protector of Moa and Momo and Mother of the One and Heir of Sakura Gakuin... And great reaction, if you want to see Su's best watch Akatisuki at Budokan 2021, she is older, and her voice is more mature, just perfect.
Tip...of...the..iceberg! Su-Metals voice is as close to flawless as you can get. In my over 10 years of being a fan I've never heard her miss a note in videos or live. One thing I've really stated to love is that now that she is older she has really started to play around with her voice when singing live, just changing how she will pronounce vowel sounds or emphasize random parts.
Great reaction. If you want to hear Su's voice at probably its most impressive at what she is capable of then I think most Babymetal fans will agree with me when I say listen to From Dusk til Dawn (2021 Budokan version). You wont be disappointed.
I appreciate that. I have fallen into issues with it before but the ads are there and the revenue from the videos 9/10 go to the owners of the copyright so I don't actually see anything of these ones at all 😊
You play bass...check out Aldious, Suicide live (has bass Intro and bass solo), also their song In This World has harmonized Bass and Guitar tapping solo.
Welcome to the Foxhole! (Babymetal version of the rabbit hole) Great first intoduction to Babymetal though this is only a Su-Metal (lead vocalist) solo. Babymetal is a 3 piece female metal group, with those musicians called the Kami Band as their live backing band. There are two version of Kami band as well. The East Kami Band (Japanese members) and Western Kami Band (American members). This was the East Kami Band. Babymetal usually prefer to perform the song as close to the studio version as possible. So if the studio version has vocal line with some effects, they are not afraid to use backing tracks. Babymetal practically created a sub-genre of Metal called Kawaii Metal (Cute Metal), a mix of J-Pop and Metal. They're also adventurous genre benders and love to mix different genres with metal. Making almost all their song never sounds the same. Mixing genres also means different singing styles. Which Su-Metal handles brilliantly, showcasing her ability to change her singing style to the song whether it's powerful, cute, emotional, rap, sing in different culture style, etc. Next, I would suggest: Babymetal - "Headbanger" Live at Budokan 2014. There is a music video as well if you want to make comparisons. ua-cam.com/video/RPVmkUEo2IQ/v-deo.htmlsi=bpfvl60IjSbXUn1_ This is from the same concert. A good example of Babymetal at full force. Also, Happy Birthday Su-Metal!!! Anyway, enjoy! 🦊🦊🦊
🔥🤘🦊🤘🔥 Oh, and for a great example of Su- metals vocal ability, listen to Monochrome First Take, and then Monochrome live. They are quite different yet both extremely awesome
The performance by the band solo is great. However, as soon as the vocal appears and starts singing, everyone gasps at her beauty and recognizes that she is the protagonist.❤ I think you should conquer Queen's 4 solo songs. 😁 ①Akatsuki ②Rond of nightmare(finished😍) ③No rain no rainbow ④Amore
Male Screamer? They don't have one, per se, sure you're not conflating them with Ladybaby? I'll let one of the regular BM commenters go into more detail on how screams were and are currently handled. They'll be here shortly, I am sure.
Nice firstish reaction👊🏽⚡️Su-Metal (Suzuka Nakamoto) is a metal vocalist cheat code. Her loud high voice effortlessly soars over a full on metal band. No distortions or vibrato needed. 🦊🤘🏾. For bonus points, what is the time signature of the song?
Just another comment there was a nention of dusk to dawn, this as they stated will also leave you ompressed at another asoect of vocal mobility, for an example of their impressive diversity check out bxmxc, nake syre its the legend mm show, was done recently 😊 looking forward to more
Do Unlucky Morpheus Cadaver/Revadac with sheet music... If you have an interest I'm musical composition..... when you figure out what they are playing... you will not believe it.
There's a couple of fancam recordings of this floating about from this gig, they are better as there isn't all the heavy handed post production pitch correction. I wish Koba wouldn't do all that, but he's his own producer i guess.
If you had not made your comments about the guitar, I would have turned this off because it was too chaotic and noisy. Now that my focus was on the guitar, the players skill was amazing, and the neck playing was impressive.
That's crazy, at that concert she's only 16. And today is actually her 27th birthday. Happy birthday Su-Metal 🥰
That's absolutely insane. Looks like I picked the right day to put it up 😅😅
Happy birthday Queen SU!
Imagine being sixteen, and knowing your performance has to match in quality what four adult metal gods had just played. She's got so much courage.
I never considered that. As if singing this live for the second time ever, in the dark on a small stage 2m above the floor, the night after your two friends were injured in falls wasn't enough. She was a queen from the very start.

Here is something newer: "Divine Attack" (Live at PIA Arena 2023): ua-cam.com/video/2WOHKe_4Fls/v-deo.html
🤘🦊
Great reaction! As a former sound engineer, I am so glad there are other people who also feel some singers overdo vibrato. Sumetal uses hers very sparingly, but when she does, it is gorgeous. If you are looking for something more recent with Su's more mature voice, I would suggest reacting to Monochrome live. They even have a First Take version with minimal instruments up on that channel.
I can second that recommendation. Especially on the First Take. Only a backing piano, and Su and Moa singing. Su's voice brings out ALL the feelings!
I have it on my list. I'm very keen to give it a look 😊
It's SUMETAL 27th Birthday todayyyyy YEAHHH
Honestly that's crazy... I absolutely did not know 😅😅
Great first reaction! SU-METAL's voice has been lighting up people's hearts for more than 10 years.
Happy Birthday, Suzuka!🎉🎂
Thanks for this reaction, made my day watching along!
Su-Metal (lead singer) has a beautiful, powerful, precise voice that is so unique. There are hundreds of individual live performances like this one that will lead to a "wow, just wow" like you experienced here - I hope you keep going with them they are a brilliant band and they do not disappoint. If you stumble across them performing rap, or egyptian metal core, or scandanavian folk, or reggae, or straight up death metal -- don't worry it's just part of the experience.
You have a knack of reacting to niche (but top tier) songs as the first introduction to new bands.
We dont call her Queen for no Reason :)
😂😂😂 Pulled some Victor Wooten out of his backside"😂😂😂
Honestly I'm surprised someone got the reference 😂😂
Kind of obscure but very true 😂😂
Here are a few other suggestions I would love to see you react to:
*Road of Resistance (Official Live):* An epic anthem and performance from Jan 2015.
Try akatsuki budokan 2021, su metal great solo❤
This is what I would choose too for a good example of more mature Su-Metal
Welcome to the fox hole. 🤘🦊🤘
Su voice is awesome. As are her solo songs.
The best is, full Babymetal is 3 performers. You will learn to love the 2 dance and scream leaders.
🦊🤘
Happy birthday my goddess my queen. Thank you Babymetal for saving my musical soul some 6 years ago... May you ladies have great and glorious lives for a long, long long long long long time.
Nice first reaction! I recommend watching the video of the song Megitsune from the Legend 43 show recently released on BABYMETAL's official channel. It's a song from 2013 but in a very recent version.
Happy Birthday to our Queen Su , hope lots of presents are involved , and having a day off to celebrate would be fantastic
Welcome to FOXHOLE
Estás al borde del abismo y no hay escapatoria
# notacult
The Kami band being god-tier : then upstaged by a 16 year old Su-metal.
After 10 years , Su-metal is 100x better.
Note, Su-metal is on a 2 meter platform with light in her face and the rest of the arena is dark, she will be completely blind to her surroundings and will not be able to see the edge - she is fearless.
"What's with this production?" Exactly that, a production. And a damn great one at that! Great reaction!
Yeah they didn't cheap out by any means. This was very cool.
Nice reaction🦊🎸
Happy Birthday SU-METAL🎂👑
👍Awesome performance. The voice of an angel. Welcome to the foxhole. Great reaction.🦊 🖖❤
Babymetal - Metal Kingdom (PIA Arena 2023 Live) Eng Subs
Yes, that part is pre-recorded and she mimes it.
Happy birthday our queen 👑🎉🎉
I will add these to the list for sure 😊😊
This song is sooo bad ass! ❤
Right!?
ナイスリアクション👍🏻😄
BABYMETALを見て本当に驚くリアクション楽しかったです。
これは2014年のライブです
Vocal coachなら最近のFirst takeの「Monochrome」も見て欲しいです。🤘🏻🦊
Su has a magnificent vocal tone. It is just so emotive, smooth, and clean with the power to break through the wall of sound behind her.
Welcome to Babymetal
Megitsune LIVE at PIA ARENA 2023 HQ Pro Shot from the For The Fox God channel
No rain no rainbow, Monochrome, Atkasuki, Night Night Burn,....all her songs
9:50 Babymetal said this show was very difficult. Yui Mizuno fell off the stage and was pretty badly hurt.
That was the night before.
This was Black Night.
@rickwagner- I meant Budokan.
This was four months before BABYMETAL conquered Sonisphere. What a condensed period.
It is now early morning on 20 December in Japan. Happy birthday, Su-Metal!
Happy birthday to the queen! Sumetal! ❤
You missed one of the greatest band in history for more than a decade.
I'm glad I saw the immense talent since 2013.
Discovering bands like this is a big reason I started this channel to begin with. Honestly I'm glad they came through the channel even if it is 10 years late haha
@grieverproductions2022
I'm glad to hear that.
Ah my mistake then. Either way I knew there were more but I tend to go into these reactions pretty blind 😊
@@grieverproductions2022 it's all good.
Happy birthday Queen Suzuka!
Happy birthday Su-Metal
I go into these as blind as possible to give a proper genuine reaction so these slip ups happen from time to time 😊
As for that vocal section my concern would be that her head was still at that angle if she was singing it. Angling the microphone towards her nose would have masked the sound absolutely but it wouldn't change the stress around the vocal chords if it were live. My only concern would be the longevity of actually of doing that over and over again 😊
rondo is an old blues term = solos for everyone 🎇
6:52 Been so immersed in Band Maid that I kinda forgot these guys 👀 (I'll add - I mean the Kami band, NOT BabyMetal, as once seen, they're unforgettable ☄)
I do prefer the music of Band Maid ✅ but these guys do have that remarkable technical ability, too 👏🏽
I'm curious as to the era of BabyMetal here. As I remember this, the "kids" were still kids - so I'm keen to see them 👧🏽👧🏽
Ah, no kids on this one...
Since you are a vocal coach, you NEED to check out the "Monochrome - Piano ver. / THE FIRST TAKE" video.
I have added it to my list and will absolutely be giving it a look in the future 😊😊

Happy birthday killerqueen 🥰 Su ❤❤❤❤
absolutely amazing 💜💜💜 please more Babymetal 🥺🥺🫶🏻🫶🏻🦊🦊
There will be more for sure!
Every Japanese Metal musician is top tier...
WE ARE BABYMETAL
And great reaction, if you want to see Su's best watch Akatisuki at Budokan 2021, she is older, and her voice is more mature, just perfect.
really nice reaction, would love to see more babymetal reactions
More to come!
More classic Babymetal please. Pre 2019 with Kami band intros. My favorite is Amore at Wembley ❤❤❤
🍅💀🍅
🤘🏼🦊🤘🏼
Queen surrounded by Gods !
I recommend you listen to "Akatsuki (Budokan 2014)" it is one of the best solo songs she has
Great reaction. If you want to hear Su's voice at probably its most impressive at what she is capable of then I think most Babymetal fans will agree with me when I say listen to From Dusk til Dawn (2021 Budokan version). You wont be disappointed.
Word of warning : particularly if you have adverts (you do), you will get a copyright strike very quickly.
I appreciate that. I have fallen into issues with it before but the ads are there and the revenue from the videos 9/10 go to the owners of the copyright so I don't actually see anything of these ones at all 😊
The OG Kami Band was awesome!
Happy birthday Suzuka 🎁🎉🎂
Welcome to the FOXHOLE!!! BABYMETAL is the most unique band out there and i hope you react to more of their stuff! (there is SO much to listen to!!)
lol i was jss playing this on my guitar 😂
You play bass...check out Aldious, Suicide live (has bass Intro and bass solo), also their song In This World has harmonized Bass and Guitar tapping solo.
Welcome to the Foxhole! (Babymetal version of the rabbit hole)
Great first intoduction to Babymetal though this is only a Su-Metal (lead vocalist) solo.
Next, I would suggest:
Babymetal - "Headbanger" Live at Budokan 2014. There is a music video as well if you want to make comparisons.
ua-cam.com/video/RPVmkUEo2IQ/v-deo.htmlsi=bpfvl60IjSbXUn1_
This is from the same concert. A good example of Babymetal at full force.
Also, Happy Birthday Su-Metal!!!
Anyway, enjoy!

BabyMetal 'No Rain No Rainbow also has Su's FANTASTIC vocals'.... ...ua-cam.com/video/wFKkCqCROQ8/v-deo.html
I will add it to the list!
🔥🤘🦊🤘🔥
Oh, and for a great example of
Su- metals vocal ability, listen to Monochrome First Take, and then Monochrome live. They are quite different yet both extremely awesome
Please check out Versailles Faith and Decision live with English Subtitles.... this song will blow you away.
The performance by the band solo is great. However, as soon as the vocal appears and starts singing, everyone gasps at her beauty and recognizes that she is the protagonist.❤
I think you should conquer Queen's 4 solo songs. 😁
①Akatsuki
②Rond of nightmare(finished😍)
③No rain no rainbow
④Amore
Добро пожаловать в лисью нору !
good coment.... Suzuka Nakamoto is legend.
Yes more BABYMETAL check out Metal Kingdom
Male Screamer? They don't have one, per se, sure you're not conflating them with Ladybaby? I'll let one of the regular BM commenters go into more detail on how screams were and are currently handled. They'll be here shortly, I am sure.
Looks like I was confusing the male singer actually. I think it was a guest they collaborated with from what other comments are saying 😊
❤🤘🏼🦊🦊🦊🤘🏼❤
Just another comment there was a nention of dusk to dawn, this as they stated will also leave you ompressed at another asoect of vocal mobility, for an example of their impressive diversity check out bxmxc, nake syre its the legend mm show, was done recently 😊 looking forward to more
🤘🤘🤘🦊🦊🦊🔥🔥🔥
You must try akatsuki 2014
Do Unlucky Morpheus Cadaver/Revadac with sheet music...
If you have an interest I'm musical composition..... when you figure out what they are playing... you will not believe it.
The guy you are talking about was just a collab, it’s only the 3 girls
Yep that was my mistake haha. I tend to go into these as blind as possible
There's a couple of fancam recordings of this floating about from this gig, they are better as there isn't all the heavy handed post production pitch correction. I wish Koba wouldn't do all that, but he's his own producer i guess.

Thank you! I will have a listen!
If you had not made your comments about the guitar, I would have turned this off because it was too chaotic and noisy. Now that my focus was on the guitar, the players skill was amazing, and the neck playing was impressive.
If you want VERY EMOTHINAL vocals .....I HIGHLY suggest you listen to BabyMetal 'Akatsuki Unfinished'.... ua-cam.com/video/7LaX_cwWJss/v-deo.html
