I’ve been driving on Matagorda and Brazoria County beaches for over 40 years. It never amazes me how many people try to drive a 2 Wheel Dr. vehicle down these beaches with the same results.
Street tires on sand isn’t the main problem. If you don’t know how to drive in sand, you could have the most knobby off-road tires and still get stuck. 4x4 or the knowledge of how to read the ground, and drive in the type of ground you’re on, is more beneficial than the type of tires you have.
