Jeep needs to hire over some of the engineers from Hyundai to help them out with that. That high pitch electric whine is so irritating. Its like listening to an RC car. Just watched a video on the new Ionic 5 N line and they put on a masterclass in how to make an EV sound good with that one.

Different strokes for different folks, as they say. I prefer the more high tech sound. I can thank/blame the TV series Knight Rider for that.
But, apart from that, if I had my greatest wish, it would be for complete silence.

You’re going to be waiting a while. It isn’t easy to make an electric vehicle. All of the numbers are pre production. Good luck seeing this thing EOY and guaranteed to be extremely expensive and have issues.

Electric value good value better than gas cars mainly because they have almost no maintenance. Find a Tesla model 3 from 2016 for under 20k, it's very rare and it's a 35k car. Almost 10 yrs old.

Non-issue lol. If you're buying a car hoping to resale later for a good price, you're buying the car for the wrong reasons. The car should be cheaper and efficient to own and operate, which is exactly what tesla are best at, the numbers don't lie

If you put it against the model Y it must also be as affordable as the model Y? Unless this Jeep is in the 50 range it’s not a competitor to that… given the prices on wagoneers in the past, it’s likely going to compete with the Model X, which can smoke it.. so i guess we will see!

@@kg0311 I haven’t seen any official numbers on the wagoner ev. If they are going to msrp that high it better be a great ev upgrade from the 78k and 93k that the model x are at.
Also the fact that Jeep compares it's pre-production product to a Tesla product that's already 5 years old and about to be updated with an even faster and more efficient model....

@@SamRetford-lo8tmno one buys Tesla here in Europe, except Chinese immigrants. I’ve seen way more Chinese cars (BYD) than Tesla. Yup, BYD started to commercialize vehicles in Europe.

Being a Jeep owner myself I approve this message, all we needed in the mix of this video was the Grand Cherokee SRT it's what started it all!
I hope pricing is also similar to the Model Y Performance… not the 80k-100k estimated on some websites
If they're charging 60-70k for a 4xe, I can only this thing starting in the 70s and 80s for a barebones version maxed out on thin scratchy plastics.

It is a significantly nicer car than the model y to be fair, interiorwise and featurewise.
Had jeeps for years and all have been an absolute pleasure. Not a full EV person yet, but this may change my mind.
I think ev's are great as a second car, not an only car. My wife got an ev I got gas. Having a charger installed in your garage/at home is fantastic. Takes under 1 min to unroll and plug in the charging cable, about the same time to remove it. We charge off peak hours only. That said ain't no way we taking a family trip cross state Line in that. And when you have an adventurous day like we did today, lots of driving, range anxiety becomes real.
Take it to the wilderness and have it towed back for recharge.
@@michaldanek9445not necessarily. Gets enough to get you there and back that’s it. I would recommend it myself but 🤷
@@michaldanek9445 depends where the wilderness is and for how long are you out there. I'm in GA there's what I would consider sufficient charging. You could be in the wilderness within 30 miles of a charger. So if you charge up to 100, go off into the wilderness and camp, you should be good for a few days.

It'll be DOUBLE that price, in Model X pricing with less range plus greedy dealer markups.
Model Y performance is just too hard to beat. I think it's actually the most horsepower per dollar you can buy right now. Its so fast! and drives itself! The jeep does look nice though.
I'm a grand Cherokee fan and a fan of this vehicle for starters. But is Jeep really comparing this to a model Y performance that cost $54000. When guaranteed, this will be 80k-100k. The model x for the same price beats the Jeep. And to top that, the rivian R1S, which is basically an identical vehicle, is even quicker than the Jeep, and this has been out for a year... jeep, you are behind the times a bit If you want to promote the car based on speed.
I also trust a Tesla over a Jeep

You guys don't get it. Tesla is cheaper because you get NOTHING. But a screen on wheels. It's ugly and it's bland. It was always priced too high and now that the price has dropped it is still too high. Every other EV brand is giving you far more refinement, comfort and amenities to justify their slightly higher price points. Elon dropped the prices of tesla because he knew it couldn't compete. He had no choice. Anyone who buys a tesla NOW is simply doing so out of ignorance or to be cost effective. DEFINITELY not for taste, style, or luxury.

Wait for actual specs and price. A model Y is a compact suv in the low $50k. This will probably more match up with the Model X but be more expensive than the $86.5k model X Plaid, which does 2.5 sec 0-60

Design is modern but yet embrace the love and respect for past design. Some of us are futuristic but we love a future who helps us with the nostalgic of the great memories we were raised. Because these memories keep us close to those we loved and no longer with us.. a futuristic design at near pace of todays generation but yet it doesn’t feel/look like it leaves some of us behind .
In addition: put a solar panoramic ceiling to help with charges and ranges (hope someone in the auto industry run with this idea of mine please ) .. you’ll have nearly all the old heads going EV
I agree with everything you said but unless we have space grade solar tech from the future then there will be very little range gained. That said all EVs should have solar as they do have charge loss when parked & anything to help stop or reverse that is a win 🏅

EXCELLENT news! You read my mind. Our family was out and about on Sunday, commenting on the various EVs on the road (we were one of them). We also saw a lot of Wranglers, and I said, "Y'know what the market needs is an electric Jeep Cherokee, Wrangler or something like that." We all agreed that would be the coolest thing ever. Looking forward to more details!
I am just waiting for the production Magneto so I can replace my 2012 JK. I'd love it in a 2-door, but I'm not holding my breath. If Jeep doesn't offer it, I'll be looking at the Rivian R3X. Come on, Jeep. Give us what we want!

As a Trackhawk owner myself, if I ever get passed by a mom picking their kids up from school in this, I will not be happy.
I still think the Trackhawk is overall faster.. even that 0 to 60 time they posted was only a tenth but Ive seen Trackhawks in the 3.2-3.3 range. The quarter will really tell it or not.. marketing is marketing ✔️✔️

@@Excelcior58 No it won't. I've raced plenty of Tesla's, and other than the jump off the line, by maybe a half a car, I pull them in quick. EVs fall flat at higher speeds
