Thanks for making this Video. I bought my first Trade Dollar yesterday because I am beginning to explore beyond my favorite coin series, the Morgan Dollar specifically CC’s. I am newer to collecting only a couple years in, as once just a stacker. 9:06 I enjoy learning the history behind coinage, more specifically Silver and Gold coins. I have interest in Mexico and even some Ancient coins but mostly good ole US coins. I also bought two graded Roman Empire Denarius Coins. It’s amazing to hold and own a piece of history. Thanks again, I seriously enjoy any informational video or literature I can absorb.
Found a bunch and bought some. Found an expert. Our state has over 18000 different trade dollars. Not sure I have enough time to start that collection. Very cool
Great education. Thanks for encouraging a new generation of numismatic hobbyists and collectors. I have a few questions about the holed Trade Dollars in your layout. I collect holed coins and exonumia and found those very exciting. (1) Do you know anything about where those holed examples were found (Asia or America)? (2) Do holed Trade Dollars come up for sale often? (3) Have you found Trade Dollars that were polished smooth on the back and engraved as love tokens? (4) Please explain the chop marks found on some Trade Dollars. Thanks!
Saya memilki koin trade dollar 1873s 'namun bukan berbahan perak pada umumnya'dan tidak lengket magnet' apakah ada keluaran koin trade dollar seperti yang saya punya trimakasih.
So, if a trade dollar was worth 80 cents, then the uS silver dollar must of been worth less 🤔 so the trade dollar had less silver than a regular US silver dollar?
Trade dollars are quite beautiful. It's kind of fun to get them with chop marks too. Thanks, Josh!
History stamped in them

Correction: Charles Barber was known for the "Barber Coinage". William Barber was his father and the Chief Engraver who preceded him.
Fantastic video! It's always great to learn something.
Glad it was helpful!

great video om looking at buying a british trade dollar graded ms60 by ngc its 499 dollars
Great video. Educational videos seem to have given way to gloom and doom or bashing the Mint videos. Keep up the good work.
NICE
It was Charles E Barber who designed the barber coin series, not his father William Barber
I have a 1799-S Trade Dollar 😂 I guess the counterfeiter didn’t know when Trade Dollars were issued or when the San Francisco Mint opened.
😂 yeah, not all counterfeits are good counterfeits!
explain what chop marks are about
