There is one more verse: O send thy Spirit, Lord, now unto me, that he may touch my eyes, and make me see: show me the truth concealed within thy word, and in thy book revealed I see thee, Lord.
We used to sing 1st stanza, before dinner ,in the hostel. I love hearing this song again and again.Jesus our Lord and Saviour is the bread of life. God has blessed you with very special talent.l thank GOD and pray for you.
Thank you for beautiful, inspiring music. When the earth and the heaven meets, there music is born. Your music is like this. God bless your service for God.
Just beautiful! Thank you for this delightfully creative way to 'refresh' the old hymns for a new audience and bless an aging woman who was raised on them (with quartets--I LOVE this one!!😁). These lyrics still speak powerfully to, and for us...so precious. Blessings to you!
Dear sir,i attend the Church of Christ in here in South Africa,Port Elizabeth, your voice and talent is truly amazing,we sing just as you do,no instruments
I am so thankful for this: I started reading Systematic Theology along with my morning scripture reading, and each chapter has a hymn at the end. I was so happy to find this beautiful video so that I could learn this hymn!
5. Spirit and life are they, Words Thou dost speak; I hasten to obey, But I am weak; Thou art my only help, Thou art my life; Heeding Thy holy Word I win the strife.
Brother Eldridge...Great with the added lyrics for those who don't have hymnals and are learning these . I shared with a new brother in Christ who was baptized last week and wants to learn the hymns so he can go and sing praises to God with brethren to the shut ins and those in assisted living and convalescent homes. This will be a help and encouragement to him. May you continue to glorify God in your service to him in Christ Name. Numbers 6:24
Let praise and thankgiving be expressed in song.......song is a weapon that we can always use against discouragement. Ellen G White. Thanks you man of God for sharing your God given talent and blessing us which such harmonious hymns. May the God and the hosts of heaven forever attend to your need as minister to His people in hymns. Amen Amen amen. Love all your songs.
1. Break now the bread of life, dear Lord, to me, as once you broke the loaves beside the sea. Beyond the sacred page I seek you, Lord; my spirit waits for you, O living Word. 2. Bless your own word of truth, dear Lord, to me, as when you blessed the bread by Galilee. Then shall all bondage cease, all fetters fall; and I shall find my peace, my All in all! 3. You are the bread of life, dear Lord, to me, your holy word the truth that rescues me. Give me to eat and live with you above; teach me to love your truth, for you are love. 4. O send your Spirit now, dear Lord, to me, that he may touch my eyes and make me see. Show me the truth made plain within your Word, for in your book revealed I see you, Lord.
My old favourites, so beautifully sung! May I suggest a few more please? Sweet Hour Of Prayer; Out Of My Bondage, Sitting at the Feet of Jesus; This Life Like A Sailor's. These hymns, and many many are becoming extinct. You can help revive them. The Lord help you and bless you abundantly!
Such a precious song to 1st hear sung by you, the day before our monthly Holy Communion service! So fitting for this occasion...."Break Thou the Bread of Life"... We have sung this song many times especially during the Holy Sacrament service. Thankful you sang in a slower and solemn manner which was so respectful! So beautiful to hear this God gifted voice without all the endless instruments this world provides. There is a fullness and focus on the words...the WORD being Christ Jesus...which is much more influential and powerful in the hearts of all people then the music which so often drowns out the words. I pray for this voice to continue in it's full richness!
You're not supposed to eat Jesus literally. That's cannibalism. When Jesus told you to eat his flesh and drink his blood he meant it spiritually. You Catholics need to open up a King James Bible and read it because everything you do goes against Scripture.
@@luisb3426 1 Corinthians 11:23-29 KJV For I have received of the Lord that which also I delivered unto you, That the Lord Jesus the same night in which he was betrayed took bread: [24] And when he had given thanks, he brake it, and said, Take, eat: this is my body, which is broken for you: this do in remembrance of me. [25] After the same manner also he took the cup, when he had supped, saying, This cup is the new testament in my blood: this do ye, as oft as ye drink it, in remembrance of me. [26] For as often as ye eat this bread, and drink this cup, ye do shew the Lord's death till he come. [27] Wherefore whosoever shall eat this bread, and drink this cup of the Lord, unworthily, shall be guilty of the body and blood of the Lord. [28] But let a man examine himself, and so let him eat of that bread, and drink of that cup. [29] For he that eateth and drinketh unworthily, eateth and drinketh damnation to himself, not discerning the Lord's body.
@@luisb3426 They call it "transubstantiation" They actually believe the bread and the contents of the cup turn into actual flesh and blood. They also believe that if a non catholic takes the "holy eucharist" then the emblems are tainted and transubstatiation will not occur. This is also why you hear of catholics being denied communion as a sinner who has not been to the confessional and recieved "absolution" by some holier than thou clown behind a screen wearing a black dress will also "taint" the emblems.
I'm getting quite forgetful but I think this is the first time I have heard you sing this song. I appreciate that you have something many other UA-cam music videos lack - breath control.
Love this hymn and it's presentation here. He does a fantastic job! i might quibble with one change to the lyrics. i.e. "beyond the sacred page I seek thee" has been changed to "within the sacred page i seek thee". The intent seems to be to honor the scriptures but it misses the beauty of the original thought which finds true worshipers seeking beyond even the now revealed. The original reflects all Christians' as-yet unrealized hopes.
Your voice is beautiful! I woke up with this song in my heart and went to search for a version to send out with my blog. While this one had the richest vocals and showcases your talent well. The video however draws attention to YOU which takes away from the power of the words in the song. Could you possible upload a version that features inspiring video to coincide with your beautiful voice. That would make it less about you and more about who you are singing about. Thanks
Compared to the modern hymns, I really find the classical ones so much more beautiful!
@Noele R aaaaa
These hymns put you in the presence of God
Couldn't agree more. An abundance of excellent hymns outshine and outlive much contemporary minutia soon forgotten.
And more meaningful in content. .
Yes indeed!! Classic songs came direct from Holy Spirit inspiration
Thanks, my brother! Love all your songs! But this one ministers to me deeply and brings me to tears every single time. God bless your service!

This Song when we taking the lord's supper in our church beautiful soooooo smoothly

I see thee, Lord.
