PATHOGEN: Parasite-Ascaris suum
AFFECTED SPECIES: Wild boar and Pig
WHAT CAN I SEE: Parasitic hepatitis with white spots and parasitic pathways in the liver of wild boar given by the migration of worm larvae. Long white worms(40cm) in the intestine.
IS IT A ZOONOSIS? Occasional, but very rare due to wild boar.
IS IT A RISK TO MEAT CONSUPTION? No, of meat is handled properly and with hygienic care (avoid contamination with boar faeces during processing).
SHOULD I CONTACT THE HEALTH AUTHORITIES? No, it is a widespread disease.
MANEGEMENT INDICATIONS: Parasite frequency is related to wild boar density. Possible manegement depends on this factor.

SPECIE COLPITE: Cinghiale e Maiale Selvatico
COSA POSSO VEDERE: Epatite parassitaria con macchie biancastre e tragitti parassitari nel fegato dei cinghiali dato dalla migrazione delle larve del verme. Lunghi vermi bianchi(40cm) nell’intestino.
E’ UNA ZOONOSI: Occasionale, ma rarissima per causa del cinghiale.
UN RISCHIO PER LA CONSUMAZIONE DELLA CARNE? No, se le carni vengono trattate in modo appropriato e con le dovute attenzioni igieniche(evitare contaminazione con feci del cinghiale durante la lavorazione).
DEVO CONTATTARE LE AUTORITÀ SANITARIE? No, e’ una malattia diffusa.
INDICAZIONI GESTIONALI: La frequenza del riscontro di questo parassita è legata alla densità del cinghiale. L’eventuale gestione dipende da questo fattore.
