- A species of wasp, native to Asia that can possibly kill humans, has been sighted in the South of England.
The yellow-legged Asian hornet can attack and sting, and if they attack in a swarm, could be fatal.
They are also dangerous to bees, with them reportedly each eating as many as 50 a day.
Ian Campbell from the Beekeepers Association thinks the number of bees they actually eat are far fewer. He says: "I have to correct you, the evidence is between 10 and 30."
Kevin O'Sullivan, somewhat agitated says: "So, nothing to worry about then, the bees are okay, no problem at all then!"

if kevin is telling the viewers to keep an eye out for these hornets, it does make sense for the producers to show the correct hornet, and not a different sub-species. If you get an expert on the programme you should expect him to correct these errors. Disappointing
But on that point, who would recognise the difference in the field?
Most Brits can't tell the difference between a honey bee and many of the solitary bees that are native to our green isles.
The video was representative of the relative difference in size between the hornets and honey bees, and to show that hornets attack honey bees.
The expert appeared to be a bit on the pedantic side and a little excessively pushy, but what he said was accurate and should have been recognised instead of pushed back against.
Bud that species that is been showin that kind r in the uk me n my bro killed one n scotland n lochnagar it was just like the one shown on that channel so for that bee keeper to say its wrong to me is unproffesional he is tryin to stop people been scared but really you should be bcus they r dangerous n they r here n those orange coloured r here n they r massive
Well Kevin acted like a proper child then, If you want people to look out for something make sure they know what it looks like, not some wrong archive footage
come on Kev... you are better than this.. that poor bloke was only trying to present the facts in the face of your sensationalism
Hes not better than that though, it's talk TV. Absolute toxic drivel
No, he is not better. He is the worst.
Kevin has expert on, waffles for minutes ( it's MY show), then gives the expert 20 seconds. Then has a paddy when errors pointed out.
Kevin...99% ego. What a muppet.
why invite an expert on then be so rude to him? Yet another fail for talktv
Kevin, I was surprised at your rather abrupt manner with the bee man. I am sorry, but I think he made a valid point. We need to see the correct identity of the thing we are asked to look for. I've actually seen a newspaper photograph this week of the yellow legged hornet. It is somewhat different to what we saw on your news item. Please be a little more civil to invited guests who do indeed 'know a lot' .
Horrible interviewing done here. Guy wants to be factual and he got attacked for the show's mistakes.
Absolutely childish and amateur.
Talk Tv cannot be taken seriously... they're the Sunday Sport of online "journalism"
Just one Asian hornet can hunt down and eat 30 - 50 honey bees a day and their habit of hawking (hovering) outside the hive stops the bees from collecting nectar and pollen to feed themselves
@@neilloughran4437 Did you bother to research this yourself Neil? Or just thought you'd assume Ian was right. 😂😂😂
@@neilloughran4437
Go back to the BBC then
@@uniquevideosUk the point is that Talk TV seem to employ a lot of people who are either bipolar or sociopathic. I'd have loved to have heard what a bee expert had to say and make up my own mind.
Rude and arrogant, the gentleman should have been allowed to speak .It could have been a very interesting and learning experience but all i got from that is how not interview somebody..
Unbelievable how some people behave..Kevin doesn't deserve a job like this.clown..
What a rude arrogant interviewer, how does someone so amateur get their own show? Bizzare
Talk TV getting triggered because the dude was correcting your misinformation. 😂😂😂
Disgraceful interview and I’m gonna side with Bee dude.
The Talk TV host is a 🔔🔚
American viewer here. What does that expression of “bell end” mean? Thanks 🤟🏻

@@Mr.SLovesTheSacredHeartofJesus It's descriptive of the tip of a man's old chap, if you get my drift? 🍆 Hope that helps. And Kev can be one at times, unfortunately.
Kevin - aren’t you supposed to be a professional broadcaster? Your behaviour was ridiculous. You owe that gentleman an apology for your childish, rude behaviour. We want factually correct information from Talk TV so if the visuals are wrong apologise to your viewers and thank the gentleman for pointing it out.
This is embarrassing for the show.
This guy always shouts and stamps his feet like a child.
TALK TV, if you want to be taken seriously as a media outlet you need to have more professional presenters. No point doubling down on putting out flase information. It just makes it look like you dont care about making mistakes.
Just one Asian hornet can hunt down and eat 30 - 50 honey bees a day and their habit of hawking (hovering) outside the hive stops the bees from collecting nectar and pollen to feed themselves
Not what it tells you online! It gave you the information Kevin said 😂
@@uniquevideosUk he said the video isn't of the Asian hornets they are talking about. Are you saying it is?
We get the killer Hornet story every year at this time, I am more worried by the Asian grooming gangs than the Asian Hornets!!!
So am I now I have started identifying as a 13 year old chav girl.
If the guest had a chance to talk, it wouldn't have been about killer hornets. It was about Asian Hornets that are smaller, confirmed as being in the UK, and doing harm to the ecosystem that will impact humans. There are things we can do to help identify and report them so we can keep numbers down, but if we don't know what they look like (because idiots like Kevin wants footage of the bigger, scarier hornets) and if the experts don't get a chance to explain what to do...then it's a lost cause.
Kevin O'Sullivan needs to learn how to interview professionally, he was highly disrespectful to his guest.
He was only saying what I found myself when researching 😂
Just one Asian hornet can hunt down and eat 30 - 50 honey bees a day and their habit of hawking (hovering) outside the hive stops the bees from collecting nectar and pollen to feed themselves
Do you miss JJ after this cos I do?
@@uniquevideosUk he was showing footage of a different species and got ratty when an expert on Asian Hornets tried to correct the misinformation that as you've found for yourself, is clouding the facts.
The guest who followed was attacked in the US so again, highly unlikely to have been as Asian Hornet attack.
He's the expert on the subject!!!
Let him speak!!!
It's your show but dont be arrogant!!!
So true. But Mr. Ego trip himself thinks otherwise.
The man was simply pointing out the footage and facts were wrong. Talk presents misleading facts all the time . Example "roselands on the north devon coast has bad water" ( the recent Brixham issue ) and "a woman has died on a plane" ( the recent turbulence tragedy) . Kevin Phillips is shocking.
So the fact that these Asian Hornets can only eat 30 of our honey bees a day instead of up to 50 is alright then?
@@mda5003 no-one said that it was
@@stuartvale2901 Ah, so the facts weren't altogether wrong then?
Wow, didn't you get your oats last night? Shameful.
I would be embarrassed to do that to someone who only wanted to get factual information out to the public
How dare the guest present facts to Talk TV... maybe he's antibeemitic...
I agree, but Ian was a bit of a wally to be fair.
🤣
Shocking presenter. Be nice to know what to look out for
Kevin, you're an arse. Used to like you. You used to be one of my favourite presenters.
Is this normal behavior from this particular interviewer? Why is he being such an arrogant ass?
Calm Kevin he was just trying to point out that your facts were wrong, he obviously cares a lot about the situation and you treated him badly. Naughty Kevin slap on the wrist
The point is he don't care, he purposely having those Piers Morgan types of energy which is never a good look anyway.
What a wasted opportunity to really help, showing the audience the "incorrect" hornet is inexcusable, & a complete lack of research. Totally disrespect for the gentleman trying to present a factually correct interview. Showing the wrong villain in the video clip only confuses the public whose help is desperately needed.
Yes, I fully agree. A proper interviewer would have thanked the gentlemen. And proceeded with the interview. A stupid ego trip from “the Kevin”.
If anyone from TalkTV's media team or Kevin himself sees this: that was an unprofessional and aggressive display by Kevin. You did your show a disservice with that behaviour. Your guest was merely giving you the facts as they knew them and you got way too defensive and snapped. It is not what your potential viewers want or expect to see. Get over yourself Kevin.
Hornets coming over on small boats as well 🤣
I got stung by a bee the other day.............six quid for a jar of honey!
That's a decent price. Alternatively, you can buy the heavily filtered and pasteurised stuff from supermarkets that don't really contain any beneficial ingredients at a fraction of the price...because it's basically syrup 😁
More illegal immigrants!!!!!!
From France.
Kev you've really let yourself down and I hope you're investigated over this!
Typical MSM inaccurate scaremongering the expert on bees got told to go away by the knob pulling interviewer who looks like his never done a days graft in his life👍
I think Kevin would've preferred if the guest had been more hysterical and done a Nicolas Cage impression: "Not the bees!! Not the beeees!!"😅
Kicked of the show for telling the truth. Talk TV in a nutshell!
I like K O' S, but he was out of order here. Does he want to broadcast accurate info or not?
He sounds like a politician!
I normally like you, Kevin, but blinking heck, don't get pissed off just because your show can't be bothered to get the facts and is corrected on it by someone who knows better. Own it, apologise, deliever the correct information - easy. But behaving like a spoiled brat is NOT the way to go. And yes, I AM telling you what to do - grow up. One James Whale is more than enough for Talk TV, we don't need you filling his shoes, thank you very much
A excellent comment. One fully approves old chap. 💂🏻♂️
The only time Kevin looks at ease is when he is on with Mike Graham
Haha glad to see a guest correcting the host of false information. No need to be defensive, just say your research team must have made a mistake. Whats the point of getting an expert on if you dont want to hear what they have to say 😅
Just one Asian hornet can hunt down and eat 30 - 50 honey bees a day and their habit of hawking (hovering) outside the hive stops the bees from collecting nectar and pollen to feed themselves
Really 😂 that's what's online, isn't that what Kevin said? 🤭
Imagine inviting an expert on and then kicking him off for stating facts about what his expertise is in.
Blimey! Remember in my youth windscreens covered with insects. Now hardly see any. Nightmare for bees with the hornet invasion. Hope there is something that can be done.
Whatever happened to gnats? They were allover the car windscreens until about 15 years ago, orange splatter insects everywhere back then. I havent seen hornets in years we have a lot of honeybees round my area though. I think pesticides in the countryside near the motorways killed a lot of insects off though
thats because all cars are now much more aerodynamic and the airflow carries the insects over the car, rather than into the front of the morris minors and ford zephyrs of your youth
Increase in pesticides is also a key factor in less bugs, as well as less habitat for them.
People shouldn't mow their lawns until summer if they can help it (look up no-mow May) as this helps. And the government should stop reintroducing banned chemicals for crops that are harming insects including bees and being ingested by us humans.
Imagine if that was James and Ash doing the interview instead! 😂
Couldn't tell much difference here, unfortunately. Might as well have been
@@stuartvale2901 James would've told the beekeeper to shut up and accuse him of not knowing anything while Ash would constantly interrupt.
What's his problem?!😂😂😂Rude little man😂
Couldn't get through 2 minutes of this the interviewer said "er" after every two words.
He has done this for ages now. Most off-putting.
@@lone8869 really bad, if this guy does so frequently, they need to move him on. Not hear anyone "er" that many times after a few words in 2 decades.
So... Presenter half assedly researches the wrong subspecies of hornets, gets corrected but continues to quote facts that relate to the wrong sub species and goes on the attack, being utterly disrespectful to an expert giving his time for free for the sake of raising public awareness. Someone owes the BBKA a public apology...
well, ive never seen such an ill prepared presenter have so many facts wrong and be so rude while correcting him. i would fire that presenter asap
Most people I have talked to about this don't know the difference between European hornet and the Asian hornet. Usual media problem they show pictures of the wrong thing, totally misleading. K. O should have apologised for giving the wrong information.
Kevin O'shutup should give this expert on bee's an on air APOLOGY!!!
What a horrid interviewer. Poor man trying to give accurate information. Just let him.
What a rude "presenter".
I love talkTV the quality and professionalism
It's not as scary as the Hepatitis Bee.
What about Murder Hornets? 😂
Remember them from a few years ago??
😂😂😂 Thank you for Humour, this lot in the comments are hypocrites, most haven't bothered to go look for themselves 🙈 it's actually tells you what Kevin said.
ROFLMAO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
The spelling bee was bad enough!
Alfred Hitchcock's "The Bees"
Good for him for just being factual.
This is not the first time Kevin O'Sullivan has booted someone off his programme. Why bring them in if you know, before they arrive, you won't listen anyway. This beekeeper was right.
Kev your mob asked thei EXPERT on he's trying to be an expert and your being fucking rude pack it in, the facts do actually matter.
Good comment. But Margaret Rutherford and I don’t like the unnecessary F bomb 💣. To many other words in the dictionary you can use instead.
As a pestie, most people can't tell the difference between wasps and bees. Bees swarm, wasps dont. Bees hover around the nest entrance, wasps are straight in and out.
Wasps want your sweet stuff (especially in August), bees don't 🐝
....sorry, felt that was another good addition 😁
@@jarnartharn I love wasp season, it gives ame a lovely warm feeling right around my wallet.
That was wholly unprofessional and rude of the shows host. The man was just trying to give facts. We needed to know this information and how to protect our bees and the poor guy was cut off so aggressively and rudely. Very disappointing interview and behaviour from the host. Shame on him.
If people are meant to be able to identify them then surely they should have a picture of the hornet that is actually here in the UK not something that is not even in this country. It’s my show has no relevance to the wrong hornets being shown. Ian is right to point that out in my view.
I think we need him on every week 😃😃😃😃
The ‘guest’ was like a Bulldog, chewing a Wasp.. 😅
Shocking attitude from Kevin, presented with facts and spits he’s dummy out
It is very arrogant of the host 🙄
We have them in Spain.....and my neighbour has 20 healthy bee hives, Lets stop the hysteria
Kevin was the one who was very rude. He just wanted to be accurate. Very childish. Perhaps you need to take anger management classes. Highly unprofessional.
That bee man was very confusing. What a fool.
Never let the facts get in the way of a good story! What a plank of a presenter.
O’Sullivan has always been clueless and unprofessional. He’s a clown.
How unbelievably arrogant - only clicked on this out of serious interest - the poor guy was quite rightly trying to make sure people knew what they should look out for - worst narcissistic journalist I’ve ever seen - won’t be clicking on Talk TV again
I used to really like TalkTv. Now it just seems to be about moaning and having a go at the guests for no apparent reason.
I'm for the expert opinion well done Ian campbell
Only on CHAV TV a REAL BRITISH can not be a professional bee keeper & tell an no experienced bee enthusiast what to do.
This is madness.
This channel does not represent majority of us British people, this channel is full of spreading hate with obnoxious hosts who have a habit of throwing tantrums on nearly all peaceful people & also just BIAS in general.
Why talk tv booted out of tv?
