I did not expect another springtime snow storm. But bad weather seem to be following me around. I head up across the mountain plateaus to get west, and have to suffer another convoy in a snow storm. The plow truck drivers are champs! I am able to get out of the convoy and hunker down and spend a few day winter camping in a snow storm on the mountain. I enjoy a ski trip (saved for extended version), filmed with my drone, and make coffee and cook hamburgers in a burrito. I also give rundown of how I spend my days in the van in winter, what I do on a normal day. Enjoy the video!
My van is a Fiat Ducato, FWD with Nokian Winter Tires. This is the same as a Ram Promaster in the USA and Canada but with a diesel engine and manual transmission.

This is my complete second winter of Winter Van Life in extreme conditions in the North, living in a van during freezing temperatures. Starting in November I go through the whole winter season of snowy winter adventures from November to April, with snow storms, blizzards, extreme cold, extreme snowfall, slippery roads and some amazing winter beauty as well.
I also show you what I learn as I go from my second winter in the van.

This is so relaxing I mean I can imagine the coziness. Watching it is incredibly comforting however though I do not know you I worry watching minutes because it only takes a minute to hit an ice patch…I am sure you are an amazing driver and you are used to driving in this type of weather but I just hope that you remain safe. A funny plow on the canal :-) The shovel is like a propeller, it spins the snow and throws it further :-) And their rear bridge (lazy) is completely frozen :-) In general, you can’t cross the Arctic without a convoy :-)

Hahaha ! We meet you with uncovered arms among huge amounts of snow, in this immense whiteout. I saw on National Geographic TV the snow-trucks freeing the road of 2 meter until 12 meter (!) snow. What a job ! Very necessary. Temperatures have become milder, only minus 5, and in your van a pleasing heat of 22 degrees ! It seems to me the number of your cosy coloured lights is growing every week (20 ? 30 ?). And watching you preparing your wraps, burritos, pancakes, toasts, sandwiches.... aways makes me hungry. I have different eating-customs. But.... this is Belgium (and I don't eat pommes frites nor chocolate every day !). O.K. it's time for me to have supper. I presume you must be in southern and warm regions for the moment, no ? As always, Jarl, it's a pleasure for me to meet you ! And thanks for all the hours you spend making nice videos !

I did a great deal of traveling between 2015 & 2017 throughout the Northwest in a 1992 Ford E250 cargo van that had been insulated with Polyiso & was just right for lil ole MEeee. 5-8 times I remember pulling off the road & parking next to a restaurant or gas station because of an impending rain/wind storm. I'd wake up in the middle of the night & always, always, the parking lot was crammed full, no room for one more. Turn around crawl back into my cozy bed & know how envious all those people were that were basically trapped inside their SUV's, in a sitting position, unable to stretch out. I'd go back to sleep, comfy cozy warm regardless of how gusty windy or now hard it rained or hailed.
These thought returned when I saw others in car/suv's parked near your van during a storm.

Ah that sounds nice, there where no people in the cars, I later learned that a few of them where rangers as they returned with snowmobiles, and the rest probably had some small cabins out on the plains.

It is home made chilli mayo, it should be pinkish but the lights inside the van make it look yellow

Now granted this is the first video of yours that I have ever seen although I will be watching more in the future. I will subscribe after the third video that I get to watch but my question is how do you stay in such great shape? I mean I’m sure it’s not all winter all the time and then you can go out and enjoy hiking or whatever but if I just sat and ate and relaxed I would be bigger than I am now LOL
Been getting out of shape this past year, so now looking forward to getting som long backpacking trips in through the summer

The battery has built in heat, but I always keep the heat on, at least at 5°c. I have a Truma Combi 5 runiing on propane, so no diesel heater

I'm not sure what I will end up paying. I will be looking to purchase a used Promaster 3500 Extended. I have 2 dogs who will be joining me. I'll be happy to let you know what it ends up costing me. I am going to purchase a used cargo van and convert it. This will end up being very interesting. LOL🤪

It is the emergency blinkers that you have to use when you drive in a convoy, keep watching

hi i am new to your channel but i more of a technical person and not into cooking. how do you heat water how many amps to keep your van warm . that solar panel would hardly charge your phone. whats your battery storage have you a toilet onboard or a shower. Sure the scenery is great and the conditions challenging but there is more to the adventure than cooking a meal on a gas stove. You know more than you let on Good luck phil goodman
