My GMC Sierra has 2WD, 4WDH, 4WDL, 4WD auto, Traction, Terrain.
As you said 4WDL can come in useful at boat ramps that are not optimal condition.

I have a 2002 GMC 2500HD(LB7), a 2020 GMC 3500HD AT4(L5P) and a 2024 Silverado 1500 LT Trail Boss LT(LZ0), and none of them have a "terrain" mode, they all have 4Lo...

Yeah this is a custom trim, and with your trim levels that makes sense!
