Nice to see someone who got into DWJ through Transformers trying out his new book. I got into his work with the very first issue of his Beta Ray Bill miniseries, after which I had to read his entire bibliography because I knew that was something special. His books are so metal, filled with great action, but always containing a strong emotional core. His abilities as both a writer and an artist are incredible. TMiFU is actually quite an outlier among his other books because of the mystery shrouding the premise. His books are usually very clear about what you’re getting into, even with the twists and turns the story will take as it unfolds. This was a gamble, but one I would say definitely pays off for that final moment of realization. I really recommend checking out everything else he’s done. Murder Falcon is about musicians fighting demons with the power of metal, Extremity is about the heir of a warrior clan who only wants to be an artist losing her hand to the war, Do a Powerbomb is about the daughter of a dead pro wrestler teaming up with her mother’s killer to fight in a tournament organized by a necromancer to try and bring her back. They’re all PHENOMENAL books, and that’s just talking about his originals. For Marvel, Beta Ray Bill is a heartbreaking exploration of the character’s self hatred; and his Wonder Woman: Dead Earth book for DC brings a different perspective to the character and her relationship to humanity. DWJ is someone who puts a lot of himself into his work, adding a lot of elements of stuff he enjoys, so you can always tell he is having fun, and as whacky and zany as stuff gets, he knows when to dial it back to deliver such emotional guy punches. I am intrigued! I will be a wait-and-seer, and hope you will keep covering this series! "The Moon is Following Us" is such a grabbing title, a whole celestial body pursuing you sounds scary!! Based on your description, I think of DWJ's depictions of Optimus and how he is--in a way--plunged into the foreign and terrifying concept of fatherhood. The images of Spike as an infant are always strangely horrific and dreamlike (emphasis on the horror in the last issue!). I am not a parent, but it feels a bit like he's saying "Parenthood is equal parts wild and fantastical, and an endless nightmare" lol Also, oops, your videos keep popping up on my feed I thought I was subscribed to you already! Correcting that now lol Thank you for the video!
I also enjoyed the first issue but really enjoyed your personal tie, sounds like a really fun project you created. If you enjoyed this and want to read more DWJ i would recommend Do a Powerbomb. You can buy it as a collection as wasn't long and a one off finished story and the first DWJ books I read. It's one of my favourite comics of all time and like with this and Transformers he manages to play with your emotions in ways very few other writers seem to be able to. Would be interested to hear your thoughts on it .

I really enjoyed the first issue. It's a wacky concept yes, but thats nothing new, especially for DWJ. His previous works also have VERY wild yet fun premises I would highly recommend checking out! My personal favorites are do a powerbomb, and murder falcon.
Issue one was really fun. I don't know if this will be as good as his previous books but still tons of fun. I'd highly recommend murder falcon and do a powerbomb if you want more, those have honestly become two of my favorite comics

Oh well, the way I see it, I make the more popular stuff (and I enjoy doing that) so that I can also make these videos which aren’t as popular. It seems Daniel Johnson can create an original story with both artwork and story with minimal amount of writing.

Thanks for the love! I do think waiting is the best idea, hopefully by issue 3 or 4 we have a little more to really chew and make the decision.
